By far, my favorite Thai restaurant. Not only is the food amazing , the portion size is VERY generous . I never feel bad eating out when I come here because I know I'll have food left over every time. I also have a great appreciation for inclusive restaurants. As a vegan, I often feel bad for being the "difficult " friend when it comes to choosing a restaurant. However, Thai Recipe has options for everybody which alleviates quite a bit of stress when find something everyone will like. Service: seated right away but no one came to take our order for 5-7 minutes. observed one server making his rounds to tables, filling waters, delivering take out boxes, clearing tables - and finally he came around to our table. There was plenty of staff when we arrived, but it appeared there was one server working the entire front of house. Entire order was placed when server arrived. Food arrived quickly, maybe too quickly. Drinks were missing. Since the server did not come around after food was delivered, I had to locate him eventually to ask about our drinks. He apologized, and delivered them promptly. Food: Potstickers. You can't really miss with these delicious appetizers, but Thai Recipe Bistro definitely did. Dry, lacking any flavor, lukewarm (typically, they come out hot, crispy and a little greasy). Dipping sauce even tasted off. NO one came back to check on us and I did not feel like getting up again to have the pot stickers refired. Tom Kha soup: missing all of the things that make this soup so amazing, such as galangal root, kaffir lime, fresh cilantro...even the red curry paste which gives the soup an extra kick seemed to be mostly absent. ORange chicken: order was large enough to feed a family of five, and tasted like expected, albeit warm - not hot. Drinks: Thai Milk Tea and Taro Milk Tea were overly sweet and syrupy - absolutely not what you would expect from such a straight forward beverage. The Taro tasted like a cheap imitation syrup was used, not the cooked taro root. It lacked the nutty flavor profile - though the server insisted it was made with real taro root. Total price tag was $50 for an entree, one appetizer, a cup of soup and a milk tea (taro milk tea was adjusted off). The thai tea was priced at $8.95, same as the cup of Tom Kah. I understand food prices have gone up, but $9 for an imitation thai tea? Some of their alcholo beverages were just a dollar more! Overall, disappointing in every way, as I love Thai food. I know there are good days and bad days at all establishments. I came here because of the many four and five star reviews...maybe I did not order the right things, but the items ordered are items that are consistently great at other Thai establishments. There is little to no service recovery, and the server did not check on us (i.e. "how is everything tasting") until we had already been sitting there for a while wondering if we could get the check. I wasn't charged for the Taro Milk Tea that I sent back, but good service recovery at least would have been a Thai Tea on the house, considering it did not arrive until we were well along into the meal. read more

The food was delicious, the service was excellent. We have a family member with a shellfish allergy and the server knew exactly what to recommend to reduce contact contamination, and she enjoyed her meal. Came in for lunch with a colleague. First time in. We were seated quickly & they immediately brought soup. Yay! Then our order was taken quickly and we got our water quickly, we did have to ask for straws but that's not a big deal. Our food cam quickly, hot, & smelled amazing. I can't remember what my colleague ordered but I ordered the BBQ pork lunch. The BBQ pork was DELICIOUS !! I wish I could got more of it. Doesn't look like much from the outside, but don't be fooled! This place is cute and more importantly has authentic and tasty Thai food! We tried their chicken satay with peanut sauce...awesome! Their chicken wings and samosas were also really good! We also had Thai iced teas that were delicious. Mains: we tried different curries (massuman, peanut) and also tried Khao Suey which was sooo good! Def worth a try! Tough to find good Thai spots and this place didn't disappoint! Never seen anything like it before--not even in fancy Los Angeles! The space was large, could accommodate larger groups, and the staff was very friendly. I ordered the vegan salt and pepper wings. They were good, but I do wish they came with a vegan house sauce, like maybe a vegan ranch or vegan hot sauce. I also ordered the vegan dynamite noodle because I love all things spicy! It comes with jalapeno, sriracha sauce, bell pepper, and more. I was asked which level of spice I wanted, and I said medium to play it safe (although usually, I tell them to turn it up ha!). Good thing I only asked for the medium because even medium spice started to make my nose run a little, haha. Just the way I like it! My favorite Thai place in the valley. I have been coming here for years. They have lunch specials during the week, including some soup and a vegetable roll. The food is fresh, delicious, and as spicy as one prefers. My favorite items include the vegetable and shrimp fresh rolls, Tom Yum soup, and the curries. They have a fun cat robot to deliver the food. The service is always fast, friendly, and always correct. The restaurant is often open (sometimes take out only, but sometimes dine in) on major holidays, including Thanksgiving. read more

This Thai Restaurant has amazing food! I had the Orange Tofu with Jasmine rice. The tofu was cooked to perfection! They gave me plenty of orange sauce to put over the rice! I rate it 10/10! My daughter got the Drunken Fried Rice. It was also very flavorful and delicious, 10/10 too! They give you such large portions that you have plenty to bring home to eat for another meal! The ambience of the restaurant is very nice.Our server was very attentive and friendly (sorry I didn't get his name). The adorable Kitty Robot that brings the food to your table is the added special touch that makes the restaurant fun! This is the best Thai food I have had in many years! My boyfriend got the pineapple fried rice with shrimp which was absolutely delicious and I had the dynamite noodle with chicken which was also very good. Both with medium spice but don't be fooled, the spice definitely builds up! Both were pretty large servings so even though the price seems high you definitely get your moneys worth of food! We ordered take out through yelp but I'd suggest calling since the menu on yelp didn't offer me a selection of spice level. I did call to check on it and it automatically put no spice but it was really easy to call and switch. Service was wonderful! Inside was super cute too even though we didn't stay. The food here is terrific. If they actually serve it to you, that is. On my most recent (and likely last) visit, the place was busy and they seated me at the bar. That was fine with me. What wasn't fine was every employee walked right past me without taking my order. Finally, I flagged a guy down and he took my order. Around a half hour later I managed to get someone's attention who said she would check on it. Never returned. Waited another ten minutes and walked out. Forty minutes wasted and I ended up making a frozen pizza. When the place is empty, they do OK. They simply can't handle a crowd. read more

I've had Pad Thai at many Thai restaurants, both in the valley and even in Thailand, and I can honestly say the Pad Thai at this restaurant was the worst I've ever had. The noodles were soggy, the flavor was off, and the chicken tasted strange. It was incredibly bland, like it was someone's first time trying to make Pad Thai. For a dish that's typically the easiest and most popular at any Thai restaurant, it's shocking that they couldn't even get it right. If you can't make a decent Pad Thai, can you really call yourself a Thai restaurant? On top of that, the service was disappointing. When I told the waiter the dish wasn't good and I wanted to send it back, he told me I had to order something else. He was unhelpful and borderline rude, which added to the frustration. Instead of just taking the dish back like most places would, I was forced to order another dish (and pay for it). Why would I want to order more food after such a bad experience? Overall, a really disappointing meal and poor service. I won't be coming back, and I definitely wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for authentic or even halfway decent Thai food. read more

Had such a pleasant experience here! I've never tried Thai food before but kept seeing it all over social media and figured I'd pop in and try some. We got sat at a very comfortable booth, they have lots of seating for parties of all sizes. We started with some Thai tea with boba and coconut milk. The glasses were huge and filled to the brim and it was sweet and refreshing. The potstickers we got to start were filled with a savory filling and paired with soy sauce, just perfect. Then our meals came and the serving size of our meals were huge! We loved it since we brought the rest home. I got a pad thai with shrimp with spice level medium but next time I'd go up a level, not very spicy at all. But nonetheless, the dish was savory, sweet, and filled with lots of spices and flavor! My friend enjoyed her drunken noodles and loved the veggies! My friend ordered us the mango sticky rice to end the meal and it was so comforting and the perfect end to our meal. The servers were sweet and attentive as well. The inside of the restaurant is very cozy and ambient, would be great for a date night as well. Noticed they had a cocktail menu which we will try next time for sure! Will most definitely be back to try the fried rice and curry ! read more

I love this place. I've been back several times. Most Thai places don't have Kai soi and I'm so happy they do. It's a pretty heavy dish so definitely best to share but the flavors are so complex and so good. The papaya salad had been inconsistent but overall I like it a lot. As well as, the pad see ew. I love this one, with the crispy tofu. My boyfriend always eats my left overs before I get the chance too. It's even better the next day. I've never had their drinks, the menu seems a little too sweet for me but the prices are insanely cheap compared to most every other restaurant. Eating inside, there is a robot that brings out your food which is pretty cute (but you still have a server as well). It's a little spendy for Thai food in my opinion but the food also makes it worth the price.. especially when they have food items other places don't. read more

Unfortunately today the service suffered. Without the owner here the quality goes down. Today was long wait times and we ordered a drink but was never delivered.
