Lovely spot, lovely and welcoming staff, great food. Thought it would be full of UNH students but there is no bar and it isn't a party joint, so it's perfect for friends or families going out. Have been there quite a few times with friends for dinner and it's always great. Enough food for lunch leftovers the next day! They will accommodate dietary restrictions and preferences. Thus far I've only tried the place for take-out, but the dining room looks perfect, too. Fantastic food, everything was fresh, appetizers were tasty and entrée portions were plentiful. One note: I ordered "extra hot" while my wife and daughter ordered "medium." Mine certainly fit my requested heat level, but the ladies noted that theirs was not much milder than mine. I was here with a party of 4 and we all enjoyed our meals. 2 got the Pad Thai and said it was very good and compared to other places they enjoyed on the East Coast. Another got the Pad See Ew and said it was very good. While I am usually a sucker for Drunken Noodle, I opted for the House Special Spicy Chicken and was not disappointed. A generous portion with a nice side of white rice and I was in heaven. However I would ask for it to be a little spicier next time. Not crowded, clean and in good shape, I would certainly come back again when visiting some students at UNH as it is so close and convenient to the UNH campus. read more

I love Thai food and have been disappointed time after time with the local offerings I've tried. It's incredibly hard to find even decent Thai in the Merrimack Valley. This place, though a bit of a drive, did not disappoint. The location is right by UNH and easy to find, though parking was annoying. The inside is clean, tables were being bussed quickly even with the influx on college kids on frequent rotation. The waitstaff was quick and attentive the entire mea. The prices were fantastic, lower than most places, in an obvious attempt to draw the starving college kids in, Several lunch specials were offered where you pick the meat, vegetable, and sauce you want and then choose rice or noodles to go with it. It was very straight forward. A small salad served before every meal. My ginger chicken was cooked perfectly and the Tom Kha Gai was an enormous portion, as were all the meal sizes. A great value for the money. My friends had the salmon curry and seared haddock and both were over the top for their dishes. A Thai spring role plate finished off the meal. Everything was fantastic and we will certainly be coming here for out first choice again when we are in the area. Four and a half stars mean Yelpers got this one right on the money. Just be mindful they close between lunch and dinner so check the hours before you come. read more

If you're a fan of Southeast Asian cuisine, this will not disappoint! I'm from the melting pot of NYC, but spent a few days in NH for a conference. I've only been here three days but visited this establishment twice (although I tried an additional time when they were closed). The food is amazing! I have gotten the Tom Yum with shrimp, Pae Naeng Curry Chicken, and seafood medley wide spicy noodle and they were all absolutely perfect. read more

Great new find of mine as I was craving quality tasteful Thai in the area (Portsmouth options are AWFUL). Food and service was great. The nice young man who took my order on a Wednesday night was very friendly and walked through all of the substitutions for my order. Food was fresh and flavorful. The waitstaff here is extremely friendly and attentive. As my partner and I go about once a week, it's nice to be recognized and have a staff that remembers my partner's need for a window seat. I love that you can get right in and will be waited on promptly. Also your food comes quickly. Living so close to Portsmouth, there are other Thai restaurants, but I keep coming here for the service and quality of the food. I love their tofu and vegetable pad thai. Their tofu is always cooked to a crispy perfection and the variety of vegetables they toss in is note worthy. I'm a big fan of zucchini and mushrooms and fresh versions of both find their way into the noodles. I've had a selection of their sushi and it is also well made and well priced. My favorite is the Philadelphia Roll, but I think that is a personal taste preference more so than a house specialty. My partner usually gets some version of curry and he hasn't had one he doesn't like. I will note that ordering a dish "very-hot" will result in a "very-spicy" fare. Like I mentioned above, my partner is Indian (i.e. eats/enjoys spicer foods) and he could eat, but regretted ordering his meal "very-hot." Not quite enough rice is served with the curry and when you request more, they charge you for it--- which is a bit annoying when you don't actually eat curry without rice. It'd be nice if they gave you more rice and just jacked the price up a dollar. I really recommend this restaurant. Your tongue is pleasured while you get really full on fresh, delightful ingredients for an extremely reasonable price. read more

Thai Smile-2 is awesome. The staff is outstanding. The dining room is clean and bright. Their lunch specials consist of enough food for two meals. I have tried at least 12 different dishes on the menu and all of them have been fantastic. The flavors of the dishes are great, but beware of the spice level when you order hot as it is just that. I order take-out frequently enough that the staff knows me by name. For comparison, it takes the same amount of time to get a small one-topping pizza from DHOP for the same price - it's a no brainer! At first, I was sad that Wings Your Way was gone. Upon my first visit, though, my opinion quickly changed. The food is incredible and fresh. Their gyoza are to die for. I just treated myself to a take out dinner from Thai Smile 2. I have really only had pad thai in the past at other restaurants. But I saw the Nutty Chicken specialty which features stir fried chicken, chili sauce, cashew nuts, scallions, and steamed broccoli with a container of steamed rice. In my serving there were also the red thai bird chili pods. It was delicious. What a good choice! It is lucky that I ate it at home because I was licking up the sauce! Just hot enough. It was ready in 5 minutes! It was $12 but I see on the take out menu that there are many different choices that are less costly. One more thing I want to ridicule is that after the short hair female waiter argued with me for tips，she did not feel sorry of her poor service，and asked me："So why you came here？" Such a underbred question！ I came because I used to，I was an old customer for almost 3 years，but I would never go again. Service is fine, location is fine, prices are not unreasonable. I am not saying the food is bad by any means...but it didn't really taste like other Thai food I have had. I think I am used to more authentic/mainstream style Thai cuisine, the pad thai here was different (not in a good way) to what I was used to. It seemed so soggy...just not texture and the sauce tasted very generic, not the sweet/spicy/salty mix I am used to; all the flavors were indistinct. I tried some of their fried rice as well, I was not particularly impressed, although there was nothing wrong with it. I probably won't be going here again. read more

Sorry to burst NH's best bubble but Smile 2 doesnt make the cut. The pad c u, was too sweet, had no soy flavor and had regular broccoli instead of Chinese, which makes a huge difference. The extra large carrot slices also took it off the tracks. The green curry was missing coconut milk, which made it lack the proper flavor and the proper consistency, too thin. I was here on business just for the night. Service was good and the food was above average. I had the shrimp Tom Yum (soup) and the chicken with red curry and asked for medium spice. Medium spice was good for me as I like a little bite and some warmth that stays on the lips after the meal. My only complaint was that there could have been better fresh veggies in the curry and a bit more coconut milk. The atmosphere was casual as with a typical medium priced thai reataraunt.
