Appetizer, pad Thai chicken & shrimp but only had 2 shrimp & kung pao chicken with white rice.

I truly love Thai Smile but the prices are up so high.... My food was good, although the size of my appetizer seemed smaller and my chicken shrimp pad Thai only had 2 pieces of shrimp. Food was ready in a timely manner. Ambience is mellow. Just shocked that what I paid for cost almost 100 after a tip. Same order I've always enjoyed as a favorite take out just keeps going up in price every year. Better to just go for lunch for a cheaper price.

This was my first visit to the Rancho Mirage location of Thai Smile. It has a warm and comfortable feeling. Service was prompt, friendly and efficient. I was cheerfully welcomed by the hostess and immediately seated. I opted for a different beer, choosing Bavik Belgian. It was flavorful and refreshing, especially during the current heat wave. Water was also delivered in anticipation of the need for refreshment. For my dinner I selected the Honey Pork, prepared with tomatoes, mushrooms and snow peas. It had a nice flavor and the vegetables were crisp and fresh. Brown or white rice accompanies the dish. I appreciated that the server checked on her guests periodically throughout the meal.

We arrived about half an hour before closing on a Friday night. Originally they told us the wait time would be 30 min so we were worried about not being able to order. The lady in the front was really nice and told us they would stay open a bit later to accommodate people since it was so busy. We were able to get seated in less than 10 minutes and received our waters quickly. Both the food and service were great! Ivan our server was great! He hooked us up with extra rice and an order of the mango sticky rice. Not pictured is the Pad See Ew noodles. They ran out of broccoli and asked if we would be okay substituting it with other vegetables which we were fine with. The end result was even better than we imagined! Our noodles came with some cabbage, baby corn, carrots, and sweet peas. I might ask for my see ew noodles this way moving forward! Would definitely come back! Thank you for the great food and service!

The Panang curry was very good, the yellow curry was also very good, unfortunately the potatoes were not fully cooked. They were very hard. Not convinced the food amount and quality are worth the high prices. Service was great. Ambiance was okay, been coming here off and on for years and the interior needs some cleaning and painting.

Yum! Panang curry and fried rice.

Seriously, the staff is always engaging and friendly. During one visit I was lucky enough to meet one of the owners. Her husband being the other, if I recall correctly. She shared some stores of the restaurant and asked us questions as well. She was amazing and I learned some cool Thai cooking tricks. The food is great. I don't go often, since it's a little further than I usually go. So, when I do go, it's because I want their food and their experience. It's a unique place that combines a "dining" night out with a comfortable night out. And that's not only the food, really, the whole place and its people are nice and easy to feel at home around. Price wise, it's a bit more than some; however, it is also set in a calm and more intentionally designed place than most in the area. It's a place to go and chat with friends, date night, of a self treat, because there isn't a sense that you need to hurry. In fact, I think they would prefer you savor your time with them, instead of hurry. Parking is easy.

My party came on a Saturday night and it was pretty full. Service was a bit understaffed but we were understanding. We were a group of 6 and wanted to do family style. We ordered three dishes: stir fried basil, honey roasted duck, and steamed soy sauce fish. Each dish was a hit and satiated us so well! Portions were pretty good and flavors were amazing. I really could talk about the duck forever. So flavorful, tender, and perfect on a bed of rice. This is the place to go to when you're craving Thai food in Palm Springs. There is no one better!

There is certainly a wait on a busy night if you don't have any reservations. It was on the main boulevard downtown and the locals there all seemed to look at us and stared as if they'd never seen any other rac3 other than their own. We were clearly visiting and it was our first time. The people in the area and in the restaurant just looked and it felt awkward. We put our names down and waited. We stood there waiting for a while and the host didn't execute their job correctly. I saw parties coming in that were given tables before us. They sat others before us. The people literally just walked in and got a table meanwhile we were standing outside and noticed that. We mentioned this to them and we finally got a table. I also noticed that other rac3 like m!norit!es here end up waiting me awhile the others seem to just waltz in. The food was alright. They said they noodles had no fish sauce but it clearly tasted like it did. The portion was a lot but for the price it was a bit high. We asked for chili and they said they didn't have it. What Thai restaurant doesn't have chili? Lol I think they were lazy. There was also a creep sitting behind our table that positioned himself to sit in front on the sidewalk and gawk and stare at women the entire time which made us feel uncomfortable. He sat there longer than we dined in and was still there when we left. The staff kept asking him if he needed anything because he as camping. They eventually tried to give him the boot by giving his receipt so he can pay and go so others can use the table. He was staring and looking at women passing by and gawking for a LONG TIME turning his head 180 from left to right. Overall just an awkward experience all around. Too pricey, overrated, service was mediocre, needs improvements. (also, parking is horrible, so find one that's public inside the block, parking lot or side streets).

We ordered the Tom-Yum soup and Pad Thai today. We usually order their Papaya Salad and Fresh Spring Rolls as our appetizers but we decided to order something new! The Tom-Yum soup is good, but I do believe it's missing some tart/sourness that you'd taste in other traditional Tom-Yum soups, however it's packed with lots of chicken and mushrooms, so that's an A+ in my book! And of course the star of the show, the Pad Thai. You can definitely taste the authenticity of this dish here, it's sweet, savory, nutty, and very aromatic! It was also nice and smoky, you can definitely tell that it was cooked on a wok. They are very generous with their portions as well. LOCATION: Nice shopping center location, very open with lots of parking. FACILITY: Very nice, not modern inside and has not changed since they opened but totally fine. MENU: Lunch menu is kind of limited but has all the goodness and noodle choices you'd expect. Not much savings for lunch special. FOOD PREP: Very well done for such a small kitchen. FOOD QUALITY: Really good for what it is, I would have liked a bit more spice or to at least to have been asked for spice level options. I'd say spice level was like a 1 at other Thai places. Rice noodle was great. WAITSTAFF: We arrived at open 11:30am, very nice and attentive getting us seated and order in, then they were packed. Only one person on the floor doing everything, he was amazing dealing with seating, orders, and payment. OVERALL VALUE: It is fair but not inexpensive, a good value for sure for our local place that is reliable and consistent.
