Every single thing that I have tried here is delicious. From hot and spicy to the mild offerings it all has abundant flavor. Everyone is very friendly and the place is clean and well taken care of. If you live near and haven't tried it, do so. I love the fresh spring rolls and spicy fried rice the most. My wife just told me to mention her beloved mango sticky rice. I introduced her to it a couple of years ago and she's a devotee. Best way to finish dinner! read more

The flavor in the food here was great but EVERYTHING was over cooked. The shrimp in a blanket had a rubbery texture. The sauce was too runny. My noodle dish was a soggy mess, couldn't find a single noodle in there that wasnt just mush. All the veggies were soggy. Pork didn't taste like pork anymore. It tasted like ground chicken breast boiled into a chunk then semi dehydrated... so dry... The server sort of rushed us by saying the kitchen is closing but sat a table down next to us 25 minutes after we ordered and took their order with ease after another 10 or so minutes. Really excellent Thai Food and overall experience. I was staying nearby for the holiday weekend and had seen a lot of Thai restaurants in and around Palm Desert. Thai Smile seemed to have some of the best reviews and ambiance. Given it was my last night of vacation, I wanted to go out for a nicer meal. Arriving a little after 7, on a Sunday, the place was pretty crowded but we were able to get seated on the patio right away. The heat lamps kept it nice and cozy and we were well taken care of despite not sitting in the main restaurant. Waters were filled often and our server checked on us frequently. I got the tofu ginger and veggies. Fresh and colorful and just the perfect bite of ginger without being too much-a really pretty looking and flavorful veggie option. It's a bit pricey but all dishes come with steamed rice -that's a nice touch so you don't have to spend more. Veggie spring rolls were good-nothing stood out on them. Since they're located right in the El Paseo shopping area, it's a great spot for people watching and at this time of year, enjoy the festive lights on the streets. So glad this meal was the grand finale of my holiday weekend. read more

I went online and saw Thai Smile was open and thought we would drive over and see i we could get on a waiting list. I have to say they saved our Christmas Dinner problem by seating us quickly, actually opening a table they would not normally use, prompt attention by our server, great food and wonderful, friendly service! Horrible dinner here! The Chicken Kung Pao was swimming in a hour oil. The Beef with wide noodles and ginger sauce came with various veggies and noodles, but NO beef. The waiter took it back. It came back, with beef but the noodles were all mush now. Will never go here again! read more

We were down visiting family in the Palm Springs area, and they asked us to take them to Thai food for their first time, so we could order for them. Before arriving, I did a ton of research and Thai Smile had the best reviews and was close to their house. We went to dinner really early, so we didn't have reservations, but upon arriving, I realized that if we would have arrived much later, we would not have gotten in! So, my first tip is make reservations. The atmosphere was good - nothing fancy, but nicer than a lot of average Thai restaurants. We were pleased to see they had a full bar and proceeded to order cocktails. We started with the vegetarian crispy vegetable rolls and an order of the fresh spring rolls with shrimp. Both were fantastic. We next ordered the green papaya salad - which is one of our favorite dishes. It was fresh, light and delicious. We next ordered the red curry with shrimp - I could drink curry I love it so much and this one did not disappoint! We also ordered vegetable fried rice, and pad Thai. All were excellent. The family was pleased, said they now know what to order and would absolutely come back. We thought the food was excellent, a definite cut above your average Thai restaurant. When I think of a Thai Smile, I imagine a beautiful woman with dark brown eyes, staring right into your soul, with ivory-white perfect teeth, with plumply formed lips that scream, "Kiss me!" I don't think of Thai food. Thai Smile is solid food that will satisfy your craving for eastern Asian cuisine. To be honest, I'm disappointed in their Pad see ew since it's on the dry side with too little brown sauce and flavor. The pineapple fried rice and red curry are musts!! Satay? Okay! We were walking along Palm Canyon Drive where a majority of the shops and restaurants are located and saw Thai Smile on the corner on the next street, so we decided to skip the huge crowds and wait time and give it a try. Best decision! I had the Pad Thai with Shrimp and Chicken and it was seriously the BEST I have ever eaten. Flavorful, rich, creamy, not spicy - just the right amount of seasoning. It was excellent. This was our first time at the Palm Desert location. We were immediately welcomed by the hostess with a smile upon walking in the doors. Without delay, we were led and sat in the side dining room (to the right of entry). The feeling I felt from the decor and ambiance around us: calm, relax, welcoming. As I looked around the room at the other guests (a tell-tale of what my experience may become), everyone was smiles and enjoying themselves. We were greeted and welcomed by our server shortly after the hostess sat us. The service remained top notch throughout our dining experience: cocktails, appetizers, water glasses refilled, and main course. We embarrassingly spilled one of our glasses of water. The staff were quick to respond to clean our mess then refill our glasses. The food was fantastic: dumplings and crispy spring rolls for appetizers were just enough for the four of us to split. The main course included Panang pork curry, pork fried rice, spicy noodle and chow mein. All of the food was rich in flavor with the right amount of spice. A huge thing for me is attentiveness. Thai Smile Palm Desert did not disappoint. They were on it before we even asked for anything - refill water glasses (we were all drinking water), checking on quality of food (apps and main course), if we needed anything at any time and immediately clearing plates. It's, been quite a long time since I've been to Thai Smile. The last few times we went, which was several years ago, the food was not up to par. But still, we had to give it another go. I looked at Yelp of recent photos of food and the reviews and thought we'd give it another try. The three of us were extremely happy with Thai Smile this time around. The service was excellent. We started off with chicken satay and chicken eggrolls. The chicken eggrolls were very crispy, however, I felt the chicken was a bit mushy. Aside from that very good. We ordered way too much food for variety so we'll have leftovers. We had the Green Curry with chicken, Pad Thai, house fried rice and Prawns Lard Prik. All excellent. The favorite was the Prawns Lard Prik and green curry. Prawns were plentiful and the curry was very flavorful. The rice and pad. Thai was also excellent. Prices are ridiculous. I ordered a seafood combo. Online it showed $32. Got there and they charged me $42. When I called the lady told me there might be "small differences" between what's online and their actual prices. $10 difference (31.25%) in price is not "small." To add insult to injury, there were maybe 4 shrimp, a couple scallops, and a couple mussels. Restaurants have gone insane with their prices recently. This was takeout so I can't say much about the ambiance. Watch your receipt after ordering from here. read more
