    Cafeteria style tray with curries
    Mimi T.

This was my first visit! I came here with my mom on a Monday at opening 11 am. I really liked the cultural wall art & the photo backdrop for selfies. The staff were friendly and explained the cafeteria style food bar area for $10.99 and how we can order from the menu as well. My mom got the food tray with fish, green & red curry & white rice. We also ordered pad Thai shrimp & pad woon sen (crystal noodles) with shrimp & chicken. I got an iced green Thai tea. My mom said the fish was good & very spicy. She is Thai & has a high tolerance for spice level. The curries were good but the portion wasn't enough in the food tray & the sauce amount is important when it comes to enjoying your curry & rice ratio. The pad soon sen was slightly on the bland side for me but the shrimp was good. I usually order this entree at Thai restaurants. I enjoyed the pad Thai more which had a sweeter taste to it. We ate half of each entree but took the rest to go. The Thai green tea was too sweet for me but I wanted to try it for the first time. We do come from a Thai background and were slightly disappointed but the service was great & other customers were continuously coming in.

Good food, ok service, place needs some upkeep. Both servers at the place had a weird stand off ish attitude, get your order and get out, annoyed when you request something extra attitude (especially the older guy). I noticed a bit of a smell from the table when we sat down, typically when they are not wiped down properly. Food was good, although a bit small, and perhaps it was just the dishes we ordered, but the food leaned more toward sour than savory. I've had Boat Noodle before but this one was a bit too sour for my taste. Meatball and kidney were nice, but the beef was a bit tough. I enjoyed the Yen Ta Fo a lot more, with plenty of protein, including pig ears, kidney, crispy pork, pork blood, and eggs in a nice savory broth.

This is my dad's favorite Thai food spot. He loves the whole steamed fish. This was good. My kids and I got the pork and shrimp egg rolls, tom yum soup, and steamed mussels. I think the tom yum could have been better but it was okay. My kids enjoyed the egg rolls and I liked the steamed mussels with the green spice sauce it came with. We also ordered the chicken satay and tiger beef. They were both really good and I'd order them again. The chicken sate had two sauces, one was like a peanut/curry sauce and the other was like a clear sauce, I'm thinking it is like fish sauce? with some minced veggies in it. We also ordered the pork jerky, chicken larb, and pad se eaw. Jerky was decent, chicken larb was alright, but the pad se eaw was pretty good. I would like to get that again, it had lots of flavor. It had chicken beef and shrimp in it. For dessert I did enjoy their sticky rice mango though I wish it came with a condensed milk drizzle or something, that would've been amazing lol. Our waitress was friendly and helpful, and the spot itself is a bit older looking but they have fixed up the inside and it looks nice.

Yall should come try this place. It's been remodeled. Very cute inside. I always get the fish cake, cheese rolls. Depending on my mood laad nar. Or pad thai or larb as the main dish.

New administration: I tried boat noodle, crispy pork skin and a Kra Jieb drink. It was alright. Love the vibe, music and service. Boat noodle is not my favorite dish but Kuoy Jab is good, it's tasty.

This is my first time coming to Thai Spice. Our friend no longer lives here but any time he and his wife are in town they have to make sure they get some Thai Spice. We had the mussels, fried fish, pad see ew, papaya salad. Our server was very nice. Even though our friend knew exactly what he wanted, she made sure to tell us about the other items on the menu and tried to cater to our taste. One of the menu items we asked for Thai Hot and I felt it could've been spicier. Regardless they give you containers of dried pepper, fish sauce if you needed to add any.

My favorite dessert? Sweet, sticky rice with mango... Soft, warm, and just the right kind of indulgent. Want a taste? Mango Sticky Rice

Definitely worth trying because it's pretty cheap for some good food. Large portions! Employees are extremely nice. I'd come back again for sure! Lots of parking & lots of seating. FOOD RATINGS!! Tom Yum Soup: 7/10 Pad Thai: 6/10 did not come with lime; very sweet in flavor Pad See Eaw: 8/10 Pretty good but I wish they cooked it with more veggies Pad Ke Mao: 8/10 Good spice Our total came out to be around $55

Great service and the price is ridiculously cheap for Thai food. My favorite was the green curry, pad Thai, larb salad and then the beef spicy noodles. The reason for spicy noodles to be my least favorite was because the broth tasted too sweet instead of spicy but my brother in law loves it. Definitely will try to come for their lunch is special weekend which is under $10 for three entrees or $12 for three Curry.

Updated menu 04/2025. Fried talapia $17.95

Here is the most recent menu. For your perspective, 8 yrs ago on the menu the crispy talapia fried fish is $8.95. Today 04/2025 the same dish $17.95. Still same great taste and service. Just how inflation is.

    Papaya salad

Fantastic foods and excellent services are the reasons that me and my family have kept coming back for the last 8 years. I notice a changed in the management and the foods but so far they still have the best Thai Foods compare to other places I have been to. The owners or whoever served me, my brother and my husband is so nice.

I love drunken noodles, the more basil, the better it is. Used to eat here monthly but lots of Thai restaurants opened up near me so it had been a long time. Ordered pad kee mao and the menu didn't say it came with bamboo shoots. I asked for mild and found 5 slices of jalapeños and pieces of red chilies. Hmm, maybe that's mild for the chef? The dish was delivered in less than 10 mins after ordering. Taste was ok but it was spicy! I spent so much time picking out the bamboo shoots and peppers.

The atmosphere feels lively, casual, and packed with personality--exactly the kind of place you hope to stumble upon but rarely do. The menu is enormous, featuring dishes from different regions of Thailand, with everything from soups and stir-fried noodles to rice dishes, curries, seafood, and grilled meats. Looking around the dining room, it seemed like nobody ordered the same thing because there is just so much to try. Best of all, the prices are incredibly reasonable for a place with this much hype. I had some of the best noodles of my life here. The Pad Kee Mao was phenomenal (best I've ever had and I eat thai food OFTEN) the noodles were chewy, bouncy, fresh, and perfectly coated in sauce. Everything tasted made-to-order and arrived piping hot. We also ordered the Beef Noodle Soup, which was rich, comforting, and packed with flavor, along with the Green Papaya Salad, which was easily one of the best versions I've ever had. The heat, acidity, and freshness was incredible and so well balanced. Many of the dishes are served on banana leaves, which adds to the entire experience and makes everything feel even more authentic and special. As someone who loves spice, I also appreciated the range of spice levels available. They don't hold back, which I always consider a good sign. One of the coolest surprises is that there's an attached market selling imported products from Thailand and Vietnam--lots of fun snacks, drinks, sauces, and ingredients you won't find at a typical grocery store. A few things to know: parking can be a little challenging, and while it's a sit-down restaurant, you'll need to head to the cashier to pay. They also accept cards, so don't worry about bringing cash. If I lived nearby, I would honestly come here every week just to work my way through the menu. This is the kind of restaurant that's worth planning a trip around. I would come back to Houston just for this meal. When people say Houston has some of the best Asian food in the country, this is exactly the type of place they're talking about!!

We visited for lunch on a Tuesday and had no wait to be seated. The service was friendly and attentive throughout our meal. The spring rolls and dumplings were both very good and made a great start to the meal. The Pad Thai had nice flavor and was enjoyable. My husband ordered his dish at a spice level 4 (their highest spice level), but felt it wasn't quite as spicy as expected, so keep that in mind if you like a lot of heat. The portions were very generous, and we definitely had leftovers. The kids' chicken fried rice was a huge portion and was surprisingly good. We also enjoyed the mango sticky rice for dessert--it was a great way to end the meal. The only disappointment was the Thai tea, which tasted a little weak compared to what we've had at other Thai restaurants. Overall, the food was tasty, the service was good, and the portions were excellent. We'd be happy to return and try more items from the menu.

The only complaint I have, although not exactly about cleanliness, I would suggest that management take a look at the lock in the men's restroom. For appetizers, we got the crispy squid and the crispy wonton- crispy squid was good but if you had to choose between the two, get the crispy wonton! As for the entree, I ordered the Khao Soi with shrimp and my friend ordered the spicy red snapper. The curry broth with coconut milk was fragrant and with the toppings that came on the side (i.e. lime, onions/shallots, mustard greens, etc) enhanced the dish. We tried their appetizers including Salmon Rolls (flavorfully packed with cream cheese, salmon, and spinach in a crispy shell and loving that actually spicy mayo on the side), Thai Style Jerky (deep fried and sun dried marinated pork and beef served with sticky rice rolls and side spicy tamarind sauce, a bit too dry/chewy), Fried Tofu (perfect little triangles, so good by itself or with the side sweet and sour sauce with crushed peanuts), Chive Pancake (deep fried and chive packed triangles with a slight chew to it, great by itself or with it's spicy soy sauce companion). As for the mains, the Spicy Seafood Fried Rice is a good value as it was loaded with all sort of fruits of the sea (shrimp, squid, and mussel), with prominent lemongrass and kaffir lime aroma, but a bit wet or moist for a fried rice dish, the Crabmeat Omelet is served with a nice portion of lump crabmeat where you can taste the flavor of the seafood and add sriracha to liking, and the Beef Pad See Ew is made appetizing with wok charred flat rice noodles along with a savory blend of soy sauce, Chinese broccoli and egg. The portion size is alright and filling for a moderately hungry individual, though it would've been even better a tad bigger for those coming in hangry.
