The food may be good but I wouldn't know after waiting for my order for almost 2 hours. Good thing we checked the order too because they then also forgot one of the entrees ordered and the drinks. We placed our order online, got confirmation it was received but we we arrived to pick it up they said they forgot to check the online orders. Here we are again at this warm and inviting restaurant. Servers greet you w/a smile and will walk you through the menu if you're unfamiliar. Highly recommend the Spicy Thai Noodles w/Shrimp. This is a luxurious dish that is like a thick soup. SO incredible. Also recommend the Pad Woon Sen w/the clear noodles. This dish is comforting & flavor packed. The presentation is awesome - fresh veggies, pretty garnish, heart-shaped rice! It's obvious they care about taking that extra minute to make a fabulous presentation and impression. Wow what a surprise find! After not finding parking on main street and cutting down a side street to turn around, we found Thai Spice. Some of the best Thai food I've ever had. We had the Mieng Kum appetizer, Tom Kha with chicken, Massaman Curry with chicken and the Southern Charm noodles. All of them were amazing. The Mieng Kum was so refreshing, the broth of the Tom Kha was very rich and full bodied. The fella had the Massaman curry and said it was one of the best he's ever had, he practically licked the bowl! I hate to write a bad review for a business that tries to hard, serves great food, but the restaurant was badly understaffed. Our dinner order consisted of four entrees, no appetizers, no desserts, and it took an hour and a half. Perhaps one third of the tables had customers, but there was only one server and one busboy working. We were told that our order took so long because they burned the duck order and had to start all over again (?). One take-out customer had paid online and had to wait so long for his order that he began screaming at the staff. This was incredibly bad service. This occurred on a Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend, same weekend that there was a high school graduation and a Garden Jubilee in Hendersonville. I suggest that this town does not have its act together, and that the restaurants had better pay more attention to staffing if they wish to stay in business. read more

BEST Thai ever. I can't believe we stumbled upon this gem. You must try the fried spinach! It's out of this world. I tried the special -- the name forgets me -- spicy noodles with shrimp and fried spinach and I couldn't believe the flavors. It was so good we went back again three days later while on vacation. Amazing Thai food! I've had Thai in Honolulu, DC, Chicago, (everywhere but Thailand...unfortunately). Hendersonville's Thai Spice is easily in my top 5 favorites. We did take-out this evening, but the ambience begged us to stay...very elegant environment. The food...spectacular. My favorite was the Penang Curry with Scallops (spice level 4 of 5...perfect). The golden purses were amazing (4 in an order....get a few if you're serving family). The Poa Pica Todd (crispy rolls...and yes, I had to check the menu to spell it correctly) were amazing. We added shrimp to the Pad Thai noodles (another favorite) and the shimp was cooked perfectly, unlike any other restaurant I've tried before. Others in the group tried chicken, calamari, tofu.....all very good. This restaurant is in my top 5 in the eastern US, let alone Hendersonville, NC. Next time I'm in town, we'll dine in and enjoy the authentic Thai experience. But...take-out was amazing too. read more

Expecting good, but not necessarily great Thai food, we stopped in. Wow!! Unreal quality. Superb spices and the intermingling of flavors. Absolutely to-die-for Thai food. I had the crispy Pad Thai. I had never heard of "crispy" Pad Thai, so I had to try it. Phenomenal! My wife's Thai noodles were perfectly cooked. What a great gem. What are they doing in such a quaint town? Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon for a late lunch. Nice and quiet with just five other tables sat. Just the right balance of highly attentive service and space to enjoy ourselves. Shared the fresh wraps and both of us got Pad Thai (1 chicken, 1 beef) with side house salads. Creamier Pad Thai than I usually like, but very nice on a cold day. Good flavor, but the spiciness at level 3 (out of 5) was barely detectible. I've had a handful of better Pad Thai dishes in my life, but this was in the top 10. My husband and I visited hoping to find another great hvl restaurant. They only serve beer and wine. Service was fine but the app we ordered was sad. Basically a piece of ice burg lettuce with a piece of ginger and shrimp on top. The ginger was too overpowering and we couldn't even taste the shrimp. We decided to leave after the app, because we weren't willing to risk being disappointed by the dinner. Prices were too high for the quality of the food. The service was very slow; it took at least 5 minutes to be seated and the restruant was not even busy. I can say the hostess really put the hoe in hostess; her dress was not appropriate for a family restaurant. After I was finally seated it took the waitress 10 mins to just get my water order. When I finally got my food I received the worst curry I have ever had. All 3 my family's orders were really watered down. I'm not sure if the duck was real and not roadkill.
