    Beef Pad Thai

I ordered from uber eats and quickly realized I've had this Pad Thai before and just couldn't remember the name of the restaurant. I remember not liking it then and I don't like it now. First, the color of the food was beautiful, vibrant even so I was expecting a burst of flavor. But that first bite felt so flat. No recognizable, classic pad thai taste. No savory, not a hint of fish sauce for umami. No balance of salty or hint of sweet. Just sour. It's very bland compared to the color I'm seeing. Kind of disappointed and I hope this review helps someone not choose pad Thai and instead maybe try another, more delicious menu item instead The good news is they make your food super fast so if you don't care about flavor and need a quick meal, their turn around time is impressive

I'm completely surprised I've never left a review of this place because I've been coming here for probably a decade now. My first time trying Thai Spice was actually a delivery order to the Tiger Woods area/neighborhood of Jax which is pretty close to the restaurant. I loved it so much, I knew the next time I tried, I needed to actually go in, and experience how delicious the food is first hand. This Thai restaurant is pretty nostalgic for me. I really love bringing my closest loved ones here for their first experience - Friends, family, significant others, etc. Each time they leave loving it just as much as I do, while also mentioning just how fair the prices are at Thai Spice. I feel like I need to mention that too bc that's pretty much unheard of in 2024. (Thank you Thai Spice for keeping our wallets in mind) Do you Love Thai tea? For the addicts out there like myself, Order Thai tea Here! I don't know what they are lacing this specific tea with but hot damn it's good! It's some of the best in Jax that I've ever tried. The spice levels for food range between 1-4. Usually when ordering they will ask, but sometimes unless you mention specifically what you would like heat wise, the dish will be not spicy, or it will be a mild 1. I order my dishes at a 2-3 and it's tolerable. It's a solid medium at 2, and a spicy, more intense medium/hot at 3. You will go through a fair amount of water ordering your food at a 3; it's good. This past visit, we ordered roti, steamed dumplings, Tom kha soup with chicken, Laab beef salad, and volcano chicken and rice with a large Thai tea. Ya know how anyone and everyone who has been to Hawkers talks about how good their roti is ?, ok, here... same deal. The roti is something you definitely should order and try. It'll come with 2 large pieces of paratha. You will have dip/sauce leftover, and it goes really well with entree selections (like drenched on your rice) . You could of course just order more paratha (bread) when ordering the roti as well if you would rather eat more of it as an appetizer. (Personally, this roti is way better than hawkers, but that's just my opinion) Salads get a bad rap. Normally I do not order salads when dining out because I hold a high standard for crisp, clean, fresh veggies; but at Thai spice, I will always order the Laab. The cilantro, lettuce, red onion, fresh mint, is all so crisp and fragrant, it's a ten out of ten every time I order it. The flavor they toss everything in is amazing. Get it a lil spicy to give it some zing. A level 2 or 3 is perfect. Honestly you can go a lil spicier for this one since you have the crisp iceberg lettuce to wrap all the ingredients in. (Notice how you see zero white iceberg pieces on that plate - that deserves a mic drop alone) Give this lil hole in the wall restaurant a try. The service, food, experience is worth it.

    Yellow Curry

If you're looking for a quiet cozy place to eat some really good Thai food, this is the spot. Yellow curry is amazing, always my first choice. Steamed dumplings were melt in your mouth soft and tender. Love the friendly service, very hospitable.

Amazing! One of my favorite Thai restaurants. I always stop in when in the area. I had 45 minutes for lunch and was in and out with tome to spare. I ordered the chicken Penang Curry (medium spice) came with rice and a Thai Tea. It all came out within 5-8 minutes of ordering. Both were Amazing! The Thai tea was not too sweet...just sweet enough. The Penang curry was so creamy and perfectly seasoned. I would say the medium spice would be spicy for some so beware. But perfect for my taste. The inside was clean and open. If your in the Bowden area give them a try!

Love their food but some meals could use more protein/veggies not just rice or noodles. Their prices are lower than other Thai places but which they had cheaper lunch prices or weekday specials.

We checked this place out early on a Saturday evening (5ish). It was empty when we sat down but a few more groups came in while we ate. The service was prompt and polite, and the restaurant was very clean. We started out with steamed pork dumplings and fried spring rolls. Both appetizers had 5 portions and they were so tasty! Especially the sauce with the dumplings! For our entrees, husband got the Pad See Ew with chicken (spice level 2/4) and I got the mixed (fresh!) vegetables and chicken with garlic sauce (spice level 3/4). We just drank water but they do offer some beers and basic wines. Our food arrived quickly, and steaming hot! We both enjoyed our dishes, and thought the spice level was perfect for each one. We look forward to trying more dishes at this quiet little out of the way gem!

Food was delicious and the service was great. The vegetables were very fresh and the steak was tender and flavorful. I'll be back to try the Kaw Soy.

Been here several times with my friend and it's about time I write about this restaurant. Family owned and the staff are very nice. Definitely try out their Thai Tea because it's refreshing and something different you usually don't get. What I've had thus far are the following: Red Curry, Drunken Basil Fried Rice, Thai Naked Wings, Roti Appetizer and Bangkok Waterfall Beef Salad. Red Curry (Hot) - delicious; sweet and spicy curry with bell peppers, basil and eggplant. I asked for no bamboo. Drunken Basil Fried Rice - fried rice with some great heat! Thai Naked Wings - fried unbreaded wings with a special sauce. Roti Appetizer- nicely cooked hot roti with curry Bangkok Waterfall Beef salad - grilled beef with salad and nice sweet crunchy Thai dressing. Overall, very good and most likely to return.

Loved this Thai food! I heard about it from Sara B., but didn't know where it was. One night we had a craving for thai food and I decided to check how close it was. Less than 15 minutes away from where we live - perfect! We browsed the menu and Yelp reviews and placed an order over the phone. We ordered a tom kha soup and pad see ew with veggies for me, roti app, pad thai chicken, and a thai tea for my boyfriend. The girl was so nice when she took our order. We couldn't believe the price for all this food was only about $40. My boyfriend ran in to pay and pick up the order, and it was ready right when we got there. Everything was so good!! I didn't want to go TOO spicy on my first visit in case their spice levels were crazy. I could definitely get the tom kha soup a little spicier next time. Pad see ew was great and had enough veggies. The pad thai was made with spaghetti noodles - I'm not sure if they were rice noodles still or not. The sauce was really, really good, but I prefer the other noodles I am used to when ordering pad thai. The highlight of the meal was the roti with dipping sauce. I think the dipping sauce is their yellow curry. I am going to ask next time, and if so, I want the yellow curry for my meal. The restaurant is a stand alone building in the middle of a parking lot in a small shopping center. Next time we will eat at the restaurant. The food was delicious and was enough for 2 meals for each of us. Great, fresh food, great prices, and nice employees. We will be back!

Good Thai food in a very nondescript building. You would drive by here a hundred times and never think about stopping in, which would be your loss. The Drunken Noodles are pretty solid. I've had it a couple times here and every time it was very good. All in all, this place fits the description of a hidden gem. It is in a nondescript building in an equally nondescript shopping building, both of which have definitely seen better days. But if you pass it, you are passing by a great meal.

I'd say this is one of the top Thai spots in Jax. Cute little shop off Bowden Road. In a stand alone building in front of a shopping center. 0% occupied when we arrived around 7 on a Wednesday night. 1 other table eventually came. Good amount of take out orders were observed. Went with the roti and peanut sauce for an app. Just as good as Hawkers which is saying something! Drunken Noodles were to die for. Every single bite was eaten. 4 out of the 5 of us so fished our plates.

Because I go there so much and they know me so well I don't even have to tell them what I want to drink they bring it automatically. They truly treat their customers like family and that's a rarity these days! They truly care about their customers and they remember who they are. I listened to them with other tables and they take just as an active interest in them as they do Me. That's the sign of quality. I love the ambience because they always have fresh flowers and they're always dust free. So many times you'll go into places in the plants have dust on them not here. I've been to numerous Thai places in Jacksonville. None can hold a candle to this one. Moreover, when I lived on the West Coast in California and I went to some fantastic Thai restaurants, they don't compare to this one! You can never go wrong here.

It looked like people came here with their families for special occasions. There was only one person working to cover everything from seating, take out, serving, etc., and he did an amazing job of staying on top of everything. He even took the time to explain to me that they recently decided to make their entire menu (save for the fried items) gluten free due to many requests they'd received from their customers. It was so nice to eat at a place that was so considerate! Their menu is definitely more fusion than authentic. I asked the server for a recommendation and he told me his favorite is the Curry Fried Rice, but it was a big portion, so I opted for his second favorite, the Drunken Noodles. I asked about the spice levels and asked for mine to be more spicy. It wasn't as spicy as I hoped, so I asked for a spice tray and added several spoonfuls of various chili flakes and peppers. My colleagues got the yellow curry and said it was basically flavorless, but they liked their Drunken Noodles. I'm thankful to have the gluten free option, but I was missing the essence of the classic/authentic flavor. Overall, the décor, ambience, and service was great, but the food was just okay.
