# 58 Pumpkin curry

I tried Thai Spice for Saturday night dinner. The place came recommended from a friend so I was excited to try their dishes. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was October and they had numerous Halloween decorations that added some fun to a traditional Thai ambiance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were seated quickly and our server was pretty attentive. We tried the following items: -Thai Iced tea (5/5; solid and just as it should be) -papaya green salad (4/5; solid but the dressing could have been more flavorful and we asked for it spicy but it wasn't at all. This dish comes with generous butterflied shrimp which was a nice touch) -pad Thai (4/5; solid, nothing particularly special. We did get it w tofu and it also came with tempeh which was weird in texture and taste. I honestly just avoided bites of this...) -spicy eggplant with chicken (4/5; again, solid but I wish it had more flavor. The chicken was tasty but pretty dry. all the veggies esp the eggplant were well cooked) -pumpkin curry (4.25/5; my friend LOVES this dish. I found it to be tasty but not mind blowing. Maybe some additional acidity could have added to the complexity of this dish but it was quite good) -spicy noodles/pad kee mao (4/5; solid flavor, lots of veggies (I hate that it came with baby corn though...), shrimp were cooked well, noodles didn't stick together and were flavorful. A decent rendition of this dish but nothing amazing) Overall, we had a solid meal at Thai Spice but my search for LA level Thai food continues

Trying a new place through door dash. I've been wanting pad Thai for dinner and came across Thai Spice. The food was delivered on time as stated. The pad Thai was good. It was slightly different from what I usually have. I feel like it may be missing something. Not sure what. You can be the judge when you try it. Overall it was good. I'd try something new next time.

This is now my favorite Thai restaurant. All of their food is delicious, flavorable and they don't skimp on ingredients like many other Thai restaurants do. Last night I ordered for pick up. I love Panang Curry so that was my choice for the evening. When I clicked on the item to order, I noticed they offered rice, salad and the soup of the day for an extra $6. I jumped on that! The salad was a green salad with peanut dressing, the soup was a spicy coconut soup with vegetables and of course the Jasmine rice is always perfect with curry. The Panang curry is sweeter than red curry. Their version is absolutely delicious. It is filled with yummy ingredients, which also includes the Thai basil which I love as it adds such a yummy flavor. Chicken was my choice and there was a lot in my dish. Perfectly seasoned and cooked. Absolutely delicious. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was the perfect way to end a very rainy cold day with no power in the house. Picked it up and came home to power and still kept those candles burning for the perfect ambiance in a storm.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Thai food is good comfort food. This restaurant serves up the best.

The green curry was warm and delicious and enough portions for two people. The total cost was about $21 for the rice and curry. The service was fast and they kept checking in on us and asking us if we wanted water or anything else. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is relaxing and a good spot for a date and cozy vibes.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior decorations are soothing![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Thai Spice in San Jose offers a flavorful and authentic Thai dining experience in a relaxed, casual setting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Popular dishes like Panang curry and green curry are some favorites. We usually order through DoorDash . Pad Sew and fried rice , roti curry and chicken satay are our house favorites. The restaurant has earned praise for its tasty food and accommodating service. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall, it's a solid local favorite for those craving bold, comforting Thai flavors.

Would rate this place a 3.5. Pretty solid spot for Thai food, there's a parking lot outside and plenty of indoor seating. The ambiance is pretty quiet and dark. The servings are pretty large so I feel like the prices match how much food you get. I ordered the thai spicy fried rice with chicken and it had a good basil flavor. I also tried their yellow curry which tasted like typical yellow thai curry (in a good way). My only thing is that I think all the dishes could use more spice, but the flavor was there

Tom Kha soup, Thai Basil #60. Chicken with Thai Basil (Pad Ka Pow) and #130. Pad Thai

Service was very good from every person who came to our table. So glad to dine in again. Had a bday dinner and got my favorite Tom Kha soup (with prawns) - so good, and they are my benchmark for this dish...Shared Thai Basil Chicken and Pad Thai (with chicken) topped off with a Thai ice tea. A great dinner all the way around.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Great food, and great atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I recommend the tom yum soup! Been here a few times, consistent too.

It was good nothing to complain about their prices are higher than what they are on their website. They should update those prices.

Best Thai food in South Bay for sure! The green curry is on another level with many rich vegetables and not too sweet with coconut milk.

This is a fantastic spot for Thai that serves both well-known dishes and an exciting array of…read moredishes that were new to me! The menu is laid out by geographic regions, which I thought was a really neat way to showcase the many different cuisines. We started with summer rolls and calamari, both of which were excellent. The summer rolls were fresh and bright, with a delicious peanut sauce that was among the best my sister (a self-described "Peanut Sauce Snob") and I had ever had. The large pieces of calamari were expertly cooked, still very tender even after frying. There was a hint of spice in the calamari dipping sauce that I quite enjoyed. For entrees, we got Pad Thai, Pad See You, and Panang Curry -- all favorites we've had many places (despite the many alluring new-to-me options, I admit we all defaulted to known quantities) -- and we were impressed across the board. Everything was flavorful, had just the right amount of spice, and came out steaming hot. We really enjoyed the cozy atmosphere of this restaurant, which felt lively and friendly. It was very busy, with a line out the door by the time we left, so reservations are a good idea!

Some portions are teeny tiny, some are okay. Their Tom Kha soup and Penang curry are sooo good! And try the tom yum fried rice. All the salads are delish, too. Definitely salty, but good. Spicy is like a medium at an authentic Thai place, so if you like heat, you can totally choose the Spicy level. For an Asian place, they have decent wine. Put your name down on Yelp waitlist ahead of time, especially if you're dining around 6 or 7. It can get busy!

Super mixed feelings about this place after ordering take out twice from them…read more First, the good: Chicken drunken noodles at the spiciest level, SOLID! A generous portion of noodles and veggies, but not as much meat (which is fine by me). As a spicy loving girl, the spiciest level option was good as it was present throughout the entire dish, meaning it was mixed in well! I appreciated this immensely. Also got a mango sticky rice to feed my sweet tooth, and it was good too! Served with blue rice which made it pretty. The bad: Oh my god. I love Rad Nar normally, but when I ordered it from here through UberEats, I was severely disappointed and couldnt even finish a third of the dish. It was severely sweet. Now, I do love my sugar, but holy crap it tasted like they marinated the meat, veggies, and noodles in sugar and then added more sugar when cooking it. I also got the spicy option so it was really weird to eat something sickenly sweet with a little bit of spice when expecting a spicy, savory dish. Maybe it was a bad night for the chef or they mistook salt for sugar, but wow. I was in shock, and in the bad way lol.
