This is such a delicious cute place! This is my favorite Thai food in the San Jose area. The inside seating is quite small and limited, would only sit inside if I was a party of 2. Very cramped. Outside though is so cute and can sit parties of 4! Their service is decent, friendly, and always delicious. Worst krapao I've ever had. Waiter was nice but elderly Thai ladies were not very nice. The krapao was extremely chewy, a table next to us was also complaining about something being chewy and it was probably the krapao. Duck curry was mid but duck was generous. Not enough curry. It was pretty expensive, but they get one star for their menu prices being inaccurate. Krapao was off by $3 and curry was off by $4. That's borderline scamming. I wouldn't pay $24 for a mid krapao. Bathroom was clean and it had downtown city vibes, was nice, but yeah food sucked and I felt like I got suckered. Delicious thai food! The patio out back is nice and well decorated. We did an eggplant side-by-side comparison. The drunken eggplant had more spice and depth of flavor flavor, while the thai-tanic eggplant has a fun name and more creative ingredients like pineapple and cashew with a lighter flavor. I was with a vegan friend, but I want to try the seafood eggplant next time to round out the trio. The tom kha soup and panang curry were also amazing. This was my 1st time at this particular Thai restaurant and it's terrible, but I always have to ask, "Do you put MSG/Monosodium Glutamate in your food?" I'm highly allergic and it suck's being a foodie, but I've had too many close calls. I was THRILLED to find out they didn't use ANYTHING WITH MSG here! All sauces were made in house and PERFECT for me!!!! Our server was a very polite lady and she seemed to be the server for all the tables that night, granted it was a Sunday evening and a bit slow. We wanted to have dinner at some place different on a Saturday night, and I suggested we drive by the Alameda and we saw this place. Their outdoor area is super lovely, even though it's on a big street, it seemed a bit secluded and very comfortable. I saw a larger group of people (6-8) sitting outside enjoying a meal and it looked like a fun place for groups. Service is very personable and kind, and they checked to make sure we had everything and were enjoying everything. Also they let us know they had a big drinks menu, maybe for next time. Really enjoyed both the pad thai & duck curry--which was plentiful and had pineapple, bellpepper, basil, a very generous portion of duck, perfectly sautéed tomato and green peas. The curry coated the spoon and could easily feed two so the price for a dinner entree was well worth it! This used to be my favorite Thai spot even though they were pricier. It's been a couple years since I've come here, and the quality has gone down significantly. The Thai sausage was still decent, but nowhere near what they used to be. After trying the beef pad Thai, which is now bland and overpriced, I immediately searched to see if ownership changed. Low and behold, I see a review noting just that. All the other wait staff were wonderful and friendly, with the exception of the one large lady who was extremely rude. She was disrespectful and completely lacks customer service skills. We will not be returning to this place and will be giving my business to Thai Orchid in Campbell. Our favorite spot had a 2 hour wait so we decided to try this place. It was no way near the taste and quality of our normal spot. The prices were also much higher and the other spot is near Santana Row! The amount of food you got was alright but it lacked authentic flavor and good quality ingredients. The Tom Kha soup had a lot of fatty pieces of chicken, hard pieces of lemongrass and some sort of other ingredient that was hard as a rock. We had to pick them out as we ate it which made it gross and frustrating. The curry looked nice when it was brought out but lacked any real flavor. It makes sense because inside the restaurant there are supplies piled up everywhere with boxes and you can see the store bought curry paste they use. We use the same one at home to make yellow curry, but I would expect something better when eating out. They had jars and jars of Skippy peanut butter piled up and it just looked junky. We ran into a similar issue with the chicken in the curry as with the soup. There were big pieces but they were fatty or had a hard ligament in it. The sauces were runny and just dripped through the rice when you scooped it. Speaking of the rice, you have to pay for it separately and they combined our two orders into one canister. Upon first glimpse, the rice looked full in the tall canister, but once we picked it up to scoop rice out we noticed there was a big lip on the bottom to make it look big but in reality the bottom was much higher up making it a smaller amount of rice. That was annoying on top of already having to pick through the soup and be served runny mediocre curry. We will definitely not be back here. It was an expensive meal that was disappointing. I'm surprised at all the great reviews because there are much better Thai spots out there. read more

Tee Nee Thai might actually be the best Thai place in San Jose. Now I must say I'm only basing this off of 3 dishes and 4 different visits. The pad see ew (my go to) is on the sweeter side, which I love, they use this sweet bean sauce that really sets their pad see ew apart. Toss some peanut sauce in it to switch up the flavors. Moving on to the duck, crispy skin and sweet marinated meat, the duck absolutely delivers on flavor. Panang Curry also a very solid pick, but a much more unfamiliar flavor compared to the standard red, green, and yellow curries. Absolutely worth checking out, been here about 4 times now in different settings (alone, date, large 8 person group, and my birthday) and each time the vibe, service, and food was great. read more

We came here for the first time today. We came right at 4:30 when they opened and were the first ones to be seated. We chose to sit outside and we were escorted to a very nice gazebo surrounded by shrines, plants, and bamboo partitions. Very beautiful and unique atmosphere. The food was amazing. I have not found a Thai restaurant in San Jose that I loved as much as the ones I tried when I lived in Sacramento. This beats everything I have tried previously. The food came fresh, smelled amazing, was piping hot, and deliciously spicy. As a kid, I grew up helping my dad out in his restaurant- so it warmed my heart to see kids helping set the tables and playing basketball behind the restaurant. You can tell this is a solid family restaurant. I will be coming back, I was very pleasantly surprised. read more

A buddy of mine has been wanting to go to this place for a while and a group of 4 finally made it out. Parking is minimal, so your best bet is to park on a side street or directly across the street. Ordered 4 different dishes, pad see ew and panang curry are the 2 I remember, but everything was good. I'm a regular at Thai Spoons in Sunnyvale and it's hard to compare when a restaurant is your favorite spot, but this came pretty close to it. Only negative is this spot is really small, but it wasn't too busy. Their Spice levels were a little hitter than your average Thai spot, but it was a nice surprise. Wow! This place is delicious! We ordered takeout and our order of curry, steamed rice, noodles, and veggie dish only took about 20 minutes and everything was nice and hot as soon as we got there for pick up! The lady who took my order was very nice and I also got a Vietnamese iced coffee that I can enjoy for the next morning! She didn't include ice so I appreciated the king, thoughtful gesture. The curry was medium spicy and it was perfect. The eggplant veggie dish was also delicious and it made me feel better to have some vegetables (with tofu) with my order too. The steamed rice and sticky rice were nice compliments with my order, and I would say that I probably could have gotten away with just one dish in addition to the rice and the noodles - the portions were pretty spot on! The ambiance inside of the restaurant was really nice too so I will definitely try to eat at the restaurant next time I try out more of their dishes! The moment I bit the spring roll covered in all the sauces it was a mouth busting experience. I tasted every single thing. 10/10 highly recommend. Yellow chicken curry what can I not say about it omg the best chicken curry I've had in a while. Get the mild flavor to fully enjoy the plate. The potato's in it are perfectly cooked and crumble in your mouth with every bite. The red chicken curry at a medium spice level was beyond my partners expectations so much flavor with every bite. We were asked if we wanted outside or inside seating but in the end only outside was available. The bamboo barrier separating the patio area from the road was a nice touch although it clearly hasn't been dusted/maintained for a while (cobwebs). Keep in mind that rice isn't included with any of the entrees (unless specified on the menu, like for the lunch dishes) so you'll have to order it for $3-4 extra. I have never understood this because rice costs mere cents to make, but perhaps there are a lot of people who'll eat Thai curry or some other dish by itself and leave a default rice bowl untouched? We ordered one side of white rice and one side of sticky rice. They forgot the white rice but that was a quick fix. For entrees: 1. Garlic pork - a lot of garlic (tasted great). It's fried pork but I think it may have been stir-fried with the other ingredients afterward because the exterior turned a little soggy (particularly near the bottom where water from vegetables or some sauce collects). 2. Green curry with choice of beef - medium spicy was decently spicy. As with most if not all Thai curries, the coconut milk makes it, well, drinkable. I really enjoyed this Thai spot because they use the thick noodles for their Pad Se Ew which is my favorite. Noodles were a tad dry but was able to add soy sauce and a chili crunch oil i had. The noodles still had good flavor . I added tofu which soaked up a lot of the flavor as well. I would definitely go back and eat there again read more

I picked up dinner from our new neighborhood's nearby Thai restaurant a few days ago. Unfortunately, there was nothing memorable about it. I stopped in right after they opened and ordered 4 dishes: drunken noodles, panang curry, crispy garlic pork, and kaprow chicken. The garlic pork was our favorite of these dishes. As advertised, the garlic was very strong and fit the dishes name. We ordered all dishes to be HOT. Unfortunately, everything was very mild. The flavors for the kaprow, pad kee mow, and panang curry were very muted, and fairly boring. Yeah, I know. Thai food is not supposed to be boring. The kitchen staff needs to take a trip to Bangkok and get inspired. They've been working too long in San Jose without somebody pushing them to make great, flavorful, inspired Thai cuisine. A cute quaint Thai restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. Gone here a handful of times and every time, the service has been extremely warm and welcoming! The staff here are amazing and patient. Sounds basic, but one of my go-to Thai dishes is pad Thai, and honestly the pad Thai here isn't my favorite compared to other places. However, other food here is pretty good (a teeny tad bit higher price than some other places I've been to but nothing crazy)! There are restrooms available and plenty of street parking available.
