    Steamed Rice
    Zach T.

Impressive The inside was like old style Thai but people you can tell are proud to be here. There is front and back patio seating. The back patio is a better choice. Penang Curry w/chicken was excellent. The chicken was not overcooked and was tender. Curry was a great flavor. Vegetables were still firm. Will feed 2-3. Steamed rice was a necessity with the curry. Mango stick rice is awesome! Sweet and perfect. Feed 2-3. Thai tea was delicious. I almost took one to go but we had dessert. The server is a little challenged in the mobility department but she is soooo caring and is also extremely knowledgeable. I'll be in there again for sure!

Worst krapao I've ever had. Waiter was nice but elderly Thai ladies were not very nice. The krapao was extremely chewy, a table next to us was also complaining about something being chewy and it was probably the krapao. Duck curry was mid but duck was generous. Not enough curry. It was pretty expensive, but they get one star for their menu prices being inaccurate. Krapao was off by $3 and curry was off by $4. That's borderline scamming. I wouldn't pay $24 for a mid krapao. Bathroom was clean and it had downtown city vibes, was nice, but yeah food sucked and I felt like I got suckered. Don't go here unless you like getting ripped off and are here just to get drunk.

Delicious thai food! The patio out back is nice and well decorated. We did an eggplant side-by-side comparison. The drunken eggplant had more spice and depth of flavor flavor, while the thai-tanic eggplant has a fun name and more creative ingredients like pineapple and cashew with a lighter flavor. I was with a vegan friend, but I want to try the seafood eggplant next time to round out the trio. The tom kha soup and panang curry were also amazing. Interestingly, they have a nice selection of Belgian beers along with a could local brews. It looked like good selection of wine too, but I always get the Belgian beer.

Love their holiday decor and outside seating area!

This was my 1st time at this particular Thai restaurant and it's terrible, but I always have to ask, "Do you put MSG/Monosodium Glutamate in your food?" I'm highly allergic and it suck's being a foodie, but I've had too many close calls. I was THRILLED to find out they didn't use ANYTHING WITH MSG here! All sauces were made in house and PERFECT for me!!!! Our server was a very polite lady and she seemed to be the server for all the tables that night, granted it was a Sunday evening and a bit slow. The food came out rather quickly and everything was perfect! The veggies were nice and crisp, sauces had delicious flavors and the rotti was the perfect crispiness!!!! I will definitely be back here again! Plus they're two doors done from this adorable Wine Bar, Hops& Wine or something. Hee.

We wanted to have dinner at some place different on a Saturday night, and I suggested we drive by the Alameda and we saw this place. Their outdoor area is super lovely, even though it's on a big street, it seemed a bit secluded and very comfortable. I saw a larger group of people (6-8) sitting outside enjoying a meal and it looked like a fun place for groups. Service is very personable and kind, and they checked to make sure we had everything and were enjoying everything. Also they let us know they had a big drinks menu, maybe for next time. The Tom Yum soup was outstanding and we really liked the beef dish I had. Everything was flavorful and the portion sizes were great. We will definitely be back.

    Sooo good

We usually order to go but decided to sit and eat.Julie did a great job helping us try some new stuff.(We usually just order pad thai, etc) The duck tacos were suggested by Julie and they were incredible!Best thing I have tasted in a long time at any restaurant. Those will be ordered EVERY time we go now.(Honestly those were large enough to be a meal for one person)We also ordered the soup and was great also.Great spot

Bland beef pad Thai. Got Thai spicy and there's some spice, but no other flavor

This used to be my favorite Thai spot even though they were pricier. It's been a couple years since I've come here, and the quality has gone down significantly. The Thai sausage was still decent, but nowhere near what they used to be. After trying the beef pad Thai, which is now bland and overpriced, I immediately searched to see if ownership changed. Low and behold, I see a review noting just that. All the other wait staff were wonderful and friendly, with the exception of the one large lady who was extremely rude. She was disrespectful and completely lacks customer service skills. We will not be returning to this place and will be giving my business to Thai Orchid in Campbell. The food quality and customer service are superior.

Our favorite spot had a 2 hour wait so we decided to try this place. It was no way near the taste and quality of our normal spot. The prices were also much higher and the other spot is near Santana Row! The amount of food you got was alright but it lacked authentic flavor and good quality ingredients. The Tom Kha soup had a lot of fatty pieces of chicken, hard pieces of lemongrass and some sort of other ingredient that was hard as a rock. We had to pick them out as we ate it which made it gross and frustrating. The curry looked nice when it was brought out but lacked any real flavor. It makes sense because inside the restaurant there are supplies piled up everywhere with boxes and you can see the store bought curry paste they use. We use the same one at home to make yellow curry, but I would expect something better when eating out. They had jars and jars of Skippy peanut butter piled up and it just looked junky. We ran into a similar issue with the chicken in the curry as with the soup. There were big pieces but they were fatty or had a hard ligament in it. The sauces were runny and just dripped through the rice when you scooped it. Speaking of the rice, you have to pay for it separately and they combined our two orders into one canister. Upon first glimpse, the rice looked full in the tall canister, but once we picked it up to scoop rice out we noticed there was a big lip on the bottom to make it look big but in reality the bottom was much higher up making it a smaller amount of rice. That was annoying on top of already having to pick through the soup and be served runny mediocre curry. We will definitely not be back here. It was an expensive meal that was disappointing. I'm surprised at all the great reviews because there are much better Thai spots out there.

Tee Nee Thai might actually be the best Thai place in San Jose. Now I must say I'm only basing this off of 3 dishes and 4 different visits. The pad see ew (my go to) is on the sweeter side, which I love, they use this sweet bean sauce that really sets their pad see ew apart. Toss some peanut sauce in it to switch up the flavors. Moving on to the duck, crispy skin and sweet marinated meat, the duck absolutely delivers on flavor. Panang Curry also a very solid pick, but a much more unfamiliar flavor compared to the standard red, green, and yellow curries. Absolutely worth checking out, been here about 4 times now in different settings (alone, date, large 8 person group, and my birthday) and each time the vibe, service, and food was great.

We came here for the first time today. We came right at 4:30 when they opened and were the first ones to be seated. We chose to sit outside and we were escorted to a very nice gazebo surrounded by shrines, plants, and bamboo partitions. Very beautiful and unique atmosphere. The food was amazing. I have not found a Thai restaurant in San Jose that I loved as much as the ones I tried when I lived in Sacramento. This beats everything I have tried previously. The food came fresh, smelled amazing, was piping hot, and deliciously spicy. As a kid, I grew up helping my dad out in his restaurant- so it warmed my heart to see kids helping set the tables and playing basketball behind the restaurant. You can tell this is a solid family restaurant. I will be coming back, I was very pleasantly surprised.

A buddy of mine has been wanting to go to this place for a while and a group of 4 finally made it out. Parking is minimal, so your best bet is to park on a side street or directly across the street. Ordered 4 different dishes, pad see ew and panang curry are the 2 I remember, but everything was good. I'm a regular at Thai Spoons in Sunnyvale and it's hard to compare when a restaurant is your favorite spot, but this came pretty close to it. Only negative is this spot is really small, but it wasn't too busy. Their Spice levels were a little hitter than your average Thai spot, but it was a nice surprise. Owner gave us a free sticky rice dessert, which I've never had but it was yummy! Staff is really nice and will for sure be back

Walked in on a Sunday dinner for a party of five and were seated immediately. The service was nice and friendly, and all the food portions were large and delicious. We got the Fried Rice, Pineapple Fried Rice, Pad Thai, and the Pad See Ewe and they were all great!

What are the vegan options available?

There are quite a few, and you can always ask to hold the egg with many of the dishes. There is very little dairy used in traditional Thai cooking. Lots of tofu options too. We have no trouble with choosing plant-based options.

Everything tastes fresh and comes out delicious, from start to finish. We especially enjoyed the basil fried rice and the ka-praw, and we've also tried a variety of the curries--everything we ordered was on point and full of flavor. Warning: their fresh chili is da bomb! I also really like the ambience. It's the kind of place that feels comfortable and welcoming, and it's become our go-to Thai restaurant whenever we're craving Asian food. A generous portion of noodles and veggies, but not as much meat (which is fine by me). As a spicy loving girl, the spiciest level option was good as it was present throughout the entire dish, meaning it was mixed in well! I appreciated this immensely. Also got a mango sticky rice to feed my sweet tooth, and it was good too! Served with blue rice which made it pretty. The bad: Oh my god. I love Rad Nar normally, but when I ordered it from here through UberEats, I was severely disappointed and couldnt even finish a third of the dish. It was severely sweet. Now, I do love my sugar, but holy crap it tasted like they marinated the meat, veggies, and noodles in sugar and then added more sugar when cooking it. I also got the spicy option so it was really weird to eat something sickenly sweet with a little bit of spice when expecting a spicy, savory dish. Maybe it was a bad night for the chef or they mistook salt for sugar, but wow. I was in shock, and in the bad way lol.

First of all, the staff and owner are incredibly nice. They made recommendations for our meal so we could have the best experience. It felt personal and you could feel the chef's love and care with each bite. The space itself is small but incredibly charming. From the paintings on the walls, brick wall, cozy lighting, beautiful mural, and comfortable open seating, it really set the stage for a wonderful meal. Fox Tale Fermentation Project also has plenty of rotating alcoholic and mocktail options which pair nicely with dishes! I ordered the Cali Classic Burger, and although the protein fell apart as soon as I took a bite, however, it was delicious. These flavors are so complex and funky that you can't help but take another bite. Generally, in non vegetarian dishes, the strong flavors of the meat/protein carries the dish, but in these dishes, the condiments, veggies, and fermented elements take your taste buds on a journey beyond the dish itself! The Fox Sando that my girlfriend ordered was also delicious. The toasted ciabatta was the star vessel for the rest of the ingredients. Perfectly toasted with slight hints of char, it really absorbed a lot of the sauces and spreads. I was lucky enough to take the second half of the sandwich home and eat it for breakfast the next day. I was so shocked when the sando itself held up in the fridge and was delicious cold! The flavors absorbed themselves into the bread but didn't make it soggy. I attribute this to the fact the ingredients didn't need to be heated up again to be tasty! Overall, I would absolutely recommend Fox Tale Fermentation Project for anyone who's looking for something different and unforgettable.
