Long overdue review, But I've been going to Thai Elephant Express since they've open. I can remember when their Pad Thai prices were around 8-9$ a plate! (Miss these prices ) Although prices have gone up, the quality hasn't changed. Everything I've tried here is delicious. My go order is usually the 2 plate combo with, Rice, Garlic chicken and either the yellow curry chicken or tamarin fish. If you haven't tried their Pad Thai, I would strongly recommend this as well. The portion sizes in everything you order is very generous, and their service is friendly and quick! Parking can be a bit crazy, so sometimes I'll park across the street at Target, and then walk over. Will recommend to anyone in the area looking for some great Thai takeout! read more

Thai Elephant has been around for many years and it's one of my favorite grab and go places to eat! We went here again today and absolutely loved it. The plaza it's located in makes it really difficult to find parking because of how small it is compared to all of the yummy stores around it but it's very worth it. The customer service here is amazing! We came in around 12:30 PM and I was super indecisive on what curry to get and the lady let me sample it. We decided on the two item plate with white rice, tamarind fish, and the garlic chicken. My favorite is the tamarind, the sauce is so delicious with the crispy fish. It's sweet and savory at the same time. I also loved the yellow curry. Filled with so much flavor and lots of chicken, potatoes, and carrots. This side was only $5. Total for the box, drink, and curry side was only $21. You cannot beat that price anywhere for the amount of food you get. If you love thai food and want something quick, this is the spot! read more

It has a Panda Express feel to the place where you pick what you want on the other side of the window and they pack it in the to go boxes. The portions that they give are also a bang for your buck, the lady who was helping me out gave heaping spoon fulls of what I wanted. This place is delicious. I got a two plate meal which was rice and green chicken curry. Im not sure if there other items on the menu they make on the spot but a lot of the food items are already cooked and behind a glass, Panda Express style. I've had a few other Thai places with this same express set up and this place is by far the best I've tried. However the curry is alot more watery than curries you would order at a Thai restaurant. It seems like all Thai express places have watery curry. But it's still very delicious. I also ordered a Thai tea. The lady told me the Thai tea would take a while to make but then a few seconds later gave me a Thai tea that had been sitting on the counter already when I walked in. I'm not sure if they gave me someone's to go order Thai tea (since it was next to food that was in to go bags) or a worker who made it for themselves who was about to go home. It was still fresh but I didn't like the presentation of that as I didn't know if it was fresh at first and it was kind of expensive. The Thai tea here was really good. My one complaint is the price. I got a two item order and Thai tea which was a little over 20$. For a few dollars more you can get the same things at an actual Thai restaurant where they cook the food fresh. I can see by the picture of the menu on here through the years that the price keeps going up every so often. Hopefully they stop raising it for a long while because it's a bit expensive for what it is. I still give this place 5 stars based on the delicious taste. read more

I used to go here all the time when I lived in the South Bay. Now that I live in the East Bay, this is one of those spots where I have to stop by if I'm in San Jose and order takeout. This place is in an Asian plaza, and parking is hard to find. Sometimes, it's easier to park on the street facing Target. I've tried a few of their dishes, such as pad thai, spicy fish, and garlic chicken. Spicy fish is delicious, and I highly recommend it if you order a combo box. However, I now order the same thing every time, which is veggie Thai basil fried rice. I'm a big meat eater, but something about their veggie basil fried rice hits differently. I like that it has fried tofu, fried egg, baby corn, bell pepper, and Thai basil. I always order the dish with extra basil and make it medium spicy. I can eat spicy, but I ordered spicy once, and it was too overwhelming. I know pad thai is what most people order here, and it's good, but it's not the best time I've had. I've been to this place more than 10 times this year and every time I go it never fails to make me want to come back. To start off with the food I usually get the Mild Chicken Pad See Ew, it's amazing I love the savory flavor and as a girl who loves noodles it definitely became my favorite. I've tried the chicken curry and coconut chicken, I would recommend for someone who loves more of a sweeter flavor, it's another go to for me which I love. I would also recommend the mango sticky rice and Thai tea for dessert or a drink to have with your meal. The service is amazing every time I have an order to pick up or to eat there they never forget to put utensils and napkins on the tray or in the bag which I find amazing making it easier for the customer to enjoy their food instead of having to stand up and continuously ask. This spot has been a local favorite in the Evergreen area for Thai takeout. Back in the day, it was purely a takeout only model but now -- they have tables and seats for indoor dining. During our most recent visit, we shared a lunch that included Chicken Yellow Curry with Pineapple + Jasmine Rice, Papaya Salad (only Thai style available), and a Pad Thai. No complaints with our small spread for two to share. The Yellow Curry was sweet and savory with generous amounts of protein, vegetables, and pineapple (a must for me in curry). The papaya salad was refreshing but didn't have any hints of the strong fish sauce or fermented fish sauce taste -- if you know, you know. The Pad Thai was made to order and came out piping hot straight from the kitchen wok. We enjoyed everything and dined in. Most dishes are already prepared and can be ordered for takeout almost immediately. The only exception are the dishes that require stir frying from the wok (i.e., Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, etc.) The lady running the front of the house was extremely sweet too. I am a regular and I always love getting the Basil Fried Rice. I have tried every spice level and it is always so amazing, I love the kick that it has. I've tried the Thai tea and it's a little bit on the sweeter side but the Basil Fried Rice is a must try! Long overdue update to review. Previous review based on mild/medium spice pad thai. Until I found out they have extra spicy AND thai spicy as an option. So my current go to is usually pad thai extra spicy no beansprouts, with sometimes deciding to do thai spicy. (Some of my friends like extra sauce, if you prefer that flavor profile on pad thai) I think these are pretty great game changers as thai spices in generally affect the flavor positively. Service is always great nowadays, I used to come back when it was the older lady but now it's a younger lady holding the fort. Definite props for handling phone orders, pick up orders, in person orders, payment all at once which both of them do fairly well. A lot of issues revolving phone vs in person orders were fixed as well so that's a big plus. Prices have unfortunately gone up a lot, I remember paying around $12 for pad thai in college and now its around $19-20. With that said, they do give a lot so I think it's very fair. Parking always sucks, theres like five boba shops here and fairly popular restaurants from Hue or Thai Elephant and growing popularity on dessert like Izumi Matcha. read more

My go-to place for quick, easy and affordable Thai food. I love the Panda Express style of ordering here where you can get a little bit of everything in a combo meal. I would also have to say that their pad Thai is one of the best ones I've had in my opinion. Staff is really friendly as well. I think they are Thai Vietnamese and they really do know how to make it spicy the right way. Definitely recommend if you're itching to quench that Thai food fix. read more
