My husband and I got takeout from Thai Star BBQ last night for dinner, and we thought it was pretty good! We ordered pad thai, chicken panang, and pineapple fried rice. All three dishes were very good, though not the best I've had. All in all, we really enjoyed the food and will definitely get food from here again when we're craving Thai. read more

Hey Yelp, can we please get 1/2 stars?! this would be 31/2 for sure ....but not a 4 Debated between this place and Riverside Thai...decided to go here instead due to Yelpers ratings. It was decent. The Pad See ew was wonderful, fresh broccoli, all white meat chicken...awesome! the Pad Thai, was decent but ot the best. The Fried dumplings meat tasted odd to me. The sauces were very thin which was fine but I like them a little thicker. The girl was very nice and helpful. The prices were decent for the dishes but the dumplings were an $8 addition!! holy cow, I m not a cheap ass but I thought that was high for takeout. While I would do takeout again we will try different things on the menu...but I would do the pad see ew again and again and again!!! read more

Tried this place a few times now with wife. Food is awesome. Best Thai food we have found in the IE. Pad Thai is my favorite. Wife likes it with Tofu, I prefer it with chicken. The fried wontons and tempura are delicious and the Thai fried rice with chicken is without doubt the bomb! The lunch specials are killer and prices couldn't be better. If your eating there, know in advance, the sodas are from a can and they charge you $1.95 each. I'd suggest drinking the Ice Tea instead. read more

I kind of discovered this place randomly one day. I come to this area sometimes to go to Food For Less and Arco. I finished putting gas in my car and drove around the back side of Arco and saw the word 'Thai' out the corner of my eye. I looked again and saw the name 'Thai Star BBQ'. Since I love Thai food and am always looking for new restaurants, I decided to come back and eat there one day. I finally went last Friday for lunch. It was medium sized with a decent amount of seating...even though it was pretty empty when I was there so there were a lot of free seats.They have a lunch special that includes an entree, salad, soup, and your choice of fried/steam rice for $6.95. I ordered chicken pad thai and thai iced tea. Service was fast, my order came out about 5-10 minutes after I ordered. The portions are pretty good size...it's a lot of food for the amount of money you pay. The thai iced tea, fried rice, and soup were all good, nothing out of the ordinary. But the chicken pad thai was some of the best I've ever tasted. I can't wait to try other things on the menu. =) read more

The food is alright but for a $6.99 lunch special, it's pretty worth it. The decor of this place is straight from the '90s but I guess what else can you expect from this part of Corona (no offense). The four stars is probably mostly service. My co-workers and I only have 30 minutes and they're nice enough to let us call in our order and have it almost ready for us by the time we get there (we go after 2 to avoid the lunch rush). My favorite to order is the garlic chicken, mild spice with white rice. The soup that it comes with is a thick egg-drop like soup, not a huge fan of the soup. The lunch special also comes with an eggroll and a side salad. Great portion for the price! If you work in the area and are looking for a change in eateries, try this place out for lunch. Food was okay.. I knew better than to order tai tea with boba because if it's not a boba place the boba balls usually are old. That's what happened here. Boba balls were very old bummer because I've been home stuck with covid and couldn't order from two places. read more

When I pulled up to this place I realized I had gone here numerous times with my dad. I guess I forgot about it. It's so hard to find a good thai place in Corona or the general area without having a fast food feel. I'm a 1/4 Thai and Laotian so I'm fairly picky about how my Thai food is prepared. I ordered the spicy beef salad and the medium hot and sour chicken soup. I had it for take out and per someone's review I had made rice at home so I wouldn't have to pay extra for it. The beef in the beef salad was over cooked and not the usual style of actual Thai beef style that I'm normally used to, and there wasn't a lot of vegetables. It was the perfect "hot" for me, i think I'd like the beef to have been a little less tough than it was. But it was delicious none the less. The hot and sour soup is one of my favorite dishes in general. There wasn't that much chicken for it and usually the chicken isn't sliced but rather bigger pieces. It was good, but not exceptional. I'm glad I found this place again, it does give me the feel of home cooking, I'll definitely be coming here as it's one of the best places so close to my house. read more

I'd come here again if I didn't want to drive further for tastier Thai food. Place a To-Go dinner order for: 1. Pad Thai 2. Pad See Ew (?) 3. Pineapple fried rice 4. Spinach mushroom tofu 5. Papaya salad Order was ready in less than 20 mins. Phone manner was polite and courteous. They gave generous portions minus the papaya salad, which was extra tiny and had only 3 shrimps in it. Overall taste of the entrees was mild.. as in it could be more flavorful, but I liked it because the food was not greasy. As for the mild flavor, you could add siracha, lemons, or peppers to make it taste better.. So, I'd come back. And recommend it more than the other Thai place. read more

I've come into town more often to visit my family. There's only so much Miguel's Jr to eat, so I had to start looking for other places. I was really skeptical about eating Thai food in Corona. I never would have found this place without my iPhone. It is hidden in a strip mall behind an Arco gas station. (There are some other delicious looking ethnic places in the same strip mall, which I hope to try at another time.) I went in for the lunch special with my mother. I ordered Panang Gai (medium) and she ordered Cashew Chicken (mild). The entrees come with a cup of soup, a small egg roll, and a small lettuce with carrot salad. The entree portion was a good size. Prices start at $6.95, with shrimp dishes being the most expensive. The Thai Iced Tea is served in a big glass, not a small cocktail glass like at other restaurants I've been to. The food comes out quickly, steaming hot. Cut into that egg roll first before just biting into it: you will burn your mouth. I thought the medium spiciness of my dish was perfect, enough to give it some zip. There were plenty of cashews on my mom's plate. Everything was tasty. The service is attentive and the place is clean. I think this place could hold its own in Los Angeles; but for Corona, it is amazing. read more

Oh my goodness my family and I always find ourselves coming back to here, we have tried at least six other Thai restaurants in the riverside area and they just are never as good as this one. Their Tom yum soup is our go to and one of our favorite dishes there. All the other ones always are equally as good, never a disappointment! And if you get to go don't judge by the outside area I know it's not your fancy Beverly Hills or even mission inn look, but I can assure you guys take a chance and go in to have THE BEST THAI FOOD! Great Thai Restaurant! We've been eating at this place since we've moved to Corona. The waitress there always remembers us and right down to what we like to order! Their service is fantastic. The food has always been consistently great. When they take your order they'll ask you for the spiciness level that you want. (especially if your order their curry dishes) Being a big time chile head I always order spicy! As far as the dishes I'd recommend, the payaya salad is good and always served fresh. We've also had the panang curry with beef, the spicy catfish, and the larb. Their pork bbq ribs will have you lickin your fingers all dinner long! My wife loves their fresh coconut juice which they serve in an actual young coconut. The decor is very outdated, which deducted a star. The ambience is super chill. Got our food -- Pad See Ew & Prikhank? -- and looked like any other thai food from a restaurant.
