First time in St Augustine, FL and was craving Thai food. Glad we stopped in. It wasn't crazy busy, parking was available and free and the service was really good. We were greeted politely as we walked in. It wasn't full with folks like some of the other restaurants and we appreciated the vibe and calmness. Will say the prices were more on the pricier side but the option sizes were good so definitely shareable. The two gentlemen were very kind and patient. Some updates needed on their menu as they do offer free bottled water.

Okay, we were warned. This place is very, very slow, as there are only two people cooking and serving food. Don't come here if you're starving or want a quick bite to eat. That being said, the food is some of the best Thai cooking I have ever tried. Every single dish and sauce was phenomenal. The inside is decorated nicely and they have a few tables and a few booths. Located close to historic section of Saint Augustine without being too close to the crowds. I'd definitely eat here again, but maybe not come at peak dining hours. I was absolutely starving and it was torture smelling the Thai cooking while my tummy grumbled. I survived. And enjoyed a fantastic meal that was worth the wait.

I stopped by and asked if they could make Pad Kaprow with chicken. She told me yes for $28. I said no thanks. This is $14 max elsewhere.

My daughter and I had a wonderful dinner here last night. We started with the crab Rangoon (amazing!), then had the red curry chicken (yum!) and Tom Kha noodle bowl. All were wonderful! Great service as well. Very clean restaurant.

My order: Roti with Green Curry and Chicken Satay This is a Thai Street Cafe in St. Augustine that specializes in the flavors of Northeastern Thailand! The rotis were perfectly buttered and flaky, complimenting the rich Thai green curry flawlessly. The Chicken Satay, served with coconut peanut sauce and Thai pickles, was absolutely delicious! I'm eagerly looking forward to returning and exploring more of their menu offerings.

Small place you don't want to miss as the menu appears promising & I look forward to returning. Today I had the crab rangoon which was delicious and crisp. Others are heavy on cream cheese, but this was nicely spiced with a dipping sauce. The Thai ice tea was heavenly with a spicey floral flavor. I shall return!

Chicken with Rice Noodle, caramelized onions and veggies

Absolutely delicious. The chicken with vegan Pad See Ew veggies was outstanding -- perfectly seasoned with rich, savory flavor and yummy caramelized onions that really made the dish shine. The noodles were cooked just right, the veggies were fresh and well balanced, and the chicken was super tender and juicy. Everything tasted thoughtfully prepared, not greasy, and incredibly satisfying. Comforting, flavorful, and clearly made with care. I'll definitely be ordering this again.

The woman working the counter had such good customer service. Plus she made me the best boba I have ever tasted. The environment was clean and I would love to come here again.

If you're into Thai food, this place is worth finding. The atmosphere was chill and comfortable, nothing over the top but it felt welcoming the moment you walked in. Our waiter was genuinely helpful -- not in a rehearsed way, just actually attentive and knew the menu well. That alone goes a long way. We ordered the thai fried rice and pad see ew, both were really good. The flavors were on point and the portions were solid for the price. Nothing on the menu felt overpriced, which is refreshing. We also grabbed a few appetizers and they held their own, but the rock shrimp absolutely stole the show. That was probably the highlight of the whole meal -- really well done. If you're passing through or live in the area and haven't been, it's worth checking out. Not flashy, just good food at a fair price with people who actually seem to care. That's all you really need.

I can honestly say with all the times I have been there and it's more than I can count, never have. I had a bad meal! The food is always the freshest and it's always served piping hot. Their vegetables are just crunchy enough to know they're fresh but still have their flavor. Their portions are ginormous. You definitely get your moneys worth with the highest quality dinner or lunch you could ever ask. The service beyond stellar! Because I go there so much and they know me so well I don't even have to tell them what I want to drink they bring it automatically. They truly treat their customers like family and that's a rarity these days! They truly care about their customers and they remember who they are. I listened to them with other tables and they take just as an active interest in them as they do Me. That's the sign of quality. I love the ambience because they always have fresh flowers and they're always dust free. So many times you'll go into places in the plants have dust on them not here. Someone truly takes care of the greenery and it is green! It's also very interesting to watch the TV screens as they do demonstrations of various Thai food preparation. I've been to numerous Thai places in Jacksonville. None can hold a candle to this one. Moreover, when I lived on the West Coast in California and I went to some fantastic Thai restaurants, they don't compare to this one! You can never go wrong here.

We've been dining here for more than two years, and every visit reminds us why it has earned a permanent place on our list of Favorite Tables Around Town. The atmosphere strikes a wonderful balance between upscale and comfortable. Whether you're planning a romantic date night, celebrating a special occasion, or simply craving exceptional sushi, Green Papaya delivers an experience that feels polished without ever feeling pretentious. We especially enjoy the side dining room, where the softer lighting creates an intimate setting that's perfect for lingering over dinner. We started this visit with the sampler appetizer, and it's one of the best ways to experience several favorites from the kitchen. The spring rolls were light and crispy, the coconut shrimp had just the right touch of sweetness, the chicken skewers were tender and flavorful, and the crab rangoon was rich, creamy, and perfectly fried. Susan couldn't pass up her favorite Tom Kha soup. If you enjoy bold flavors with a little heat, this soup is outstanding. The creamy coconut broth, fresh herbs, and spice create one of the most flavorful versions we've had anywhere. If you're sensitive to spice, just keep that in mind when ordering. Now let's talk about the sushi. As sushi lovers, we've worked our way through nearly every specialty roll on the menu over the years, and Green Papaya has never disappointed us. On this visit, the Tiger Roll earned one of our highest honors: our Best of the Best award. We don't hand that recognition out often. The Tiger Roll was beautifully presented and perfectly balanced. Every bite combined fresh fish, great texture, and layers of flavor that complemented each other instead of competing. It's the kind of roll you remember long after dinner is over and the one we'll recommend to anyone visiting for the first time. We also ordered the Tropical Roll with spicy scallops, mango, and white tuna. The sweetness of the mango softened the heat from the scallops beautifully, creating a combination that was refreshing, unique, and absolutely delicious. Service has always been friendly and attentive. One thing that makes Green Papaya a little different is the robot that helps deliver food throughout the restaurant. Our grandchildren absolutely love it, and it's always fun watching kids light up when it rolls by. For adults trying to enjoy a quiet conversation, it can occasionally be a little distracting, but it's certainly memorable and has become part of the restaurant's personality. Green Papaya isn't inexpensive, but quality sushi rarely is. The ingredients are fresh, the presentation is excellent, and the consistency keeps us coming back year after year. We'd much rather pay a little more for outstanding sushi than settle for something average. If you're looking for one of the best sushi restaurants in St. Johns, whether it's for date night, a celebration, or simply because you're craving outstanding sushi, Green Papaya deserves a visit. And when you go... Order the Tiger Roll. There's a reason it earned our Best of the Best award. You can also check out our photos to see why this has become one of our Favorite Tables Around Town.
