I love this restaurant. Staff is always so friendly and the food is delicious!!! Hosted my son's birthday party here, and the service and food was so delicious. Portions are good, but most importantly, food is served hot and yummy. I had a HUGE take out order here last week, and unfortunately egg was included when we'd requested our fried rice to be vegan. They offered to deliver a fresh one, but because we live too far, they were willing to refund my purchase. Honest mistake, but handled appropriately. You can't go wrong with any of the curry dishes! Came in yesterday with a reservation for 10 but some of our party weren't able to make it last minute. They didn't mind at all. We were seated immediately and the service was great. Our waitress / server was very attentive and we were served quickly and efficiently. Completely flawless. Lots of different dishes were ordered including cashew chicken, surf and turf rice, pad thai, red devil noodles (a particular favorite), and wonton soup. Everyone raved about the food. Prices were very reasonable and the portions very generous. Everyone commented that we would not only go back again but were looking forward to it. Came in on a busy night. Was surprised to see they did not check for proof of vaccination or a negative test to dine in, and this made me a little uncomfortable. However, the staff was wearing masks and very friendly. It took a while from when we were seated to when we had our order taken. I tried the veggie rolls and the pad thai. The food itself was good, except the veggie rolls must have come straight from the hot oil because it burnt my mouth. I wish they would've warned us or waited a minute before serving. One of the waiters was a little clumsy, she accidentally touched the top of one of our water cups when she was laying out the plates and napkins. She also took a menu from one of us and used it as something to write the order on, which was kind of odd because my friend needed that menu to remember their order and had to borrow mine. The pad thai was tasty. It comes with shrimp and chicken, but you can replace with tofu if needed. I will say I only had 2 pieces of shrimp in mine, and would've liked more. They also gave us to-go boxes for our leftover food and packed it for us, which was kind. Because the place was crowded it was very loud, so loud that we felt we couldn't carry a conversation until the large party next to us left. It is an interesting vibe - a combination of a sports bar on one side with more classy dining on the other. We ordered through Door Dash and it was fast and piping hot. Exceptionally delicious! Equally scrumptious as leftovers too. The Sexy Shrimp Salad has the most amazing dressing too. I literally used it for two other salads :) On that note, all the sauces are delicious. We order the The Sampler and the crispy shrimp was spectacular. Really good with the sauce too. My family was pretty hungry after attending my cousin's graduation, so we were trying to find a restaurant near LMU and came across Thai Talay. Service was pretty poor, I mean, blatantly rude. We were trying to order our food, but the waitress tells us to wait and proceeds to sit another table and take their order. Off a bad start, but anyways. For food, the six of us shared the Tom Yum soup, Pad See You, Pineapple Fried Rice, Emerald Green Curry and TT BBQ Pork. My favorite was the Pad See You w/ Beef. I definitely do not recommend getting the BBQ Pork, it's basically just grilled pork with sauce. Green curry doesn't come with rice, so I was eating it with the pineapple fried rice. A few years ago I moved from Westchester because of the recession and simply couldn't afford to live in the area. Well I've moved back 5 years later and there has been some changes. I've order Thai from this place many, many times. However, I have to say this place isn't what it use to be. I got my usually surf and turf rice and it wasn't what I remembered. Tender shrimp and flavorful rice and very good filet mignon. This was more bland and tasteless. I don't know maybe its me that's changed but I have grown to expect a spicy meal when I got to Thai restaurants and this was "acceptable" at best. It wasn't that it was "bad" it was simply "ok". I think I'll be going someplace else next time I want Thai. read more

Thai Talay is my go-to spot for thai food when ever I am in the Westchester/Playa area. When I lived in the area I was frequent visitor dining there about about once week. The food is fantastic. My favorite dishes are the red dragon noodles with chicken (make sure you order it extra spicy if you want a kick) and the basil chicken with a side of brown rice. Everything is cooked to order. So if you are ordering to-go highly recommended you call in to avoid a long wait. If you aren't hungry and only seek to satisfy your need for a drink, pop in! Happened upon this gem while in Marina del Rey for work. My colleague and I ordered Red Devil Noodle with tofu and Spicy Basil with chicken. Best Thai food I've had! The food was very fresh and served quickly. The wait staff was very friendly and suggested things well. The interior of the restaurant is modern, peaceful and comfortable. Super close to where we live. Kinda my go to place for quick meal. Yummy food. Blue crab salad is my fave. Treasure at TT (I think is what it's called) are so yummy and a little spicy. It is a good blend of flavor) Spicy Kung Pao Spaghetti is yummy! Just the right level. I always order for delivery and so far so good. I ate a couple of times in the resto Clean place. Restroom can use a little improvement. Servers are attentive but they need some more training for explaining their menu and giving out a little smile. Hence, the 4 star. read more

Thai Talay easily accommodated twelve of us for a group dinner on a Saturday night. They wouldn't provide separate checks, but they did offer ones for groups of four. The menu was a bit confusing. We all thought the numeral on the right side was the number for the item. Turns out, it's the price! We split the Dumpling Delight (Homemade dumplings loaded with chicken, shrimp and crabmeat - $9), which were not particularly delightful. While the dumplings were beautifully presented, they were smaller than expected and round, rather than oblong. (I would have taken a picture if I hadn't been with a group.) I prefer to have EITHER chicken or shrimp dumplings, not an odd mixture of both plus crab. Next time, I'll skip these. The Beef Panang Curry ($11) was deliciously spicy, and I ate every bite. The rice, which you have to order separately, was perfectly cooked. The rest of the group's dishes looked tempting, too. The online ordering system and delivery process was the best part of the experience - easy to place my delivery order via Yelp, order properly fulfilled, and delivered on time. The food, however, was a let down. The pad see ew beef and green papaya salad were the best of the lot, the ginger and salmon fried rice was weird and beneath mediocre (I didn't expect PICKLED ginger fried rice - the whole dish was bright red, didn't taste particularly fried, was lacking the mushrooms that were highlighted in the description, AND had overcooked salmon chunks), and the appetizer sampler was just bad (bland, over-fried AND soggy). The question you always have to ask yourself, would I eat here again? The answer is no. The place has potential but it's just not for me. I ordered the ginger fried rice with salmon.. I got 4 squares of salmon that was hard as a rock, the egg wasn't mixed in with the rice, it just sat on top. I still had white rice mixed in with the red rice which is new to me. My veggie egg rolls were ok. It wasn't the best Thai food, but it wasn't the worst. It had flavor and that's the only thing that saved them from one star review. Ok ok ok! I can only talk about one, yes I said ONE dish here the pineapple rice. I am in love with this dish usually I would never go to a place and order the same thing every single time but I cannot and will not stop ordering this dish it is so yummy if I have leftovers the next day I'll eat it as a pre-workout meal. One of my favorite Thai restaurants. Good little spot to take a date. The place is not brightly lit and the noise level is normally not too loud. You can expect a warm welcome from the staff when you enter. Our waitress, Dao, was very sweet and refilled our drinks at a fast pace. My friend comes here a lot so they knew each other. We ordered the Surf & Turf Fried Rice and Hot & Spicy Eggplant. The Surf & Turf was terrific. It had nice pieces of filet mignon and shrimp in it. The fried rice was a nice compliment to the meat. The Hot & Spicy Eggplant was nice even though I'm not a big eggplant fan. For dessert we shared the coconut ice cream. Came here for lunch. The place was decorated beautifully with a sweet floral scent. We were greeted by a nice lady at the front who sat us down and handed our menus. As we perused through the menu, we noticed they did not have any lunch specials like most Thai restaurants have. So, a la carte we go! We ordered the chicken green curry, Chinese broccoli with chicken and brown rice. The green curry was pretty good and tasty with decent heat for lightweights. The Chinese broccoli with chicken came with American broccoli. Ugh. Let's not mix up our countries please. Overall experience was average. The place really never got crowded which was interesting.
