I hadn't been back to Ayara Thai in a few years, and I had the chance to go with some friends for dinner before a show in the area. I'd only dined outside during the pandemic, and the inside was being renovated back then, too. Happy to see that the renovations are done, and we were seated promptly. I'd had Ayara Thai either dining outdoors or take-out, and while the food is still good, I found the ambiance inside added even more quality to the dishes. In other words, they tasted better when eaten in-house, more fresh and flavorful than I'd ever had. Really enjoyed the khao soi, which was flavorful and had just a hint of spice for an enjoyable experience. The chicken satay was so tender and beautifully-charred, probably one of the best satays I've had. Mango sticky rice in the end was delicious, with the smoothest, ripest mangos I've had in a long time-- they were so smooth, it was almost buttery! The egg rolls were just-okay, though, and I would probably skip these next time. Overall, probably one of the best Thai spots on the Westside. I used to order here a ton when I lived in the area. They were by far, the best Thai place on the west side. It's a tiny place in a random plaza, parking is fairly easy, they have both street parking and a lot if you walk a bit further down. We used to always order them lunch special, I personally loved their khao soi and crispy pork belly with Chinese broccoli. Their spicy beef salad, tom kha chicken soup and when tigers cry were also really good and highly recommended. Their pad Thai and pad see ew were good but they felt just standard for a Thai restaurant. The only downside it the food takes forever if you order ahead. Like I'm talking 40-60 mins for a to go order and when they give you that estimate, they're not lying. It really does take that long for the food. This is the best Thai food west of Jitlada! Had a splendid meal at Ayara tonight. A friend from rural Oregon is staying with us and she was starved for good Thai food. Started with the fried calamari- love it when it includes the tentacles. Duck salad, Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, Yellow Curry, and Bok Choi followed. Highly recommend eating family-style so that everyone has a taste of all the dishes. The Pad See Ew and Yellow Curry are some of the best examples of these classic dishes we have had in L.A. Finished with an excellent Mango Sticky Rice plus a Mango Sorbet. These desserts were so fresh. Love it when mangoes are in-season. Our house-guest gave the experience a 10/10. Tucked behind Sepulveda East and 87th, Araya is located behind all the LAX madness in a cozy walkable "L" shape street corner with a few shops and bookstore. It's a short old town street of Westchester reminiscent of the 50s shops. Ayara is cozy and it's jam packed so it's best to make reservations. We usually get food delivered from Ayara Thai but decided to make it a sit down experience. Ayara is always solid after our experience we need to come in person more often... Especially if it's Patty who was serving our table. She makes all the difference. Funny, energetic, and wants to make sure you have an experience. Take out food from here is solid but even better when it's dine in. We had the regular.. Papaya salad, Pad Thai, Pad Dee Yu, fried rice.. The dishes I enjoyed the most is the spicy basil with crispy pork. Yah, like lechon! Tasty! We also had Khao soi which is a curry broth soup over crispy egg noodle that wilders down. Pretty good. The whole fried branzino was also delicious. Served with vermicelli, herbs and sauces and lettuce to make yourself a Thai fish taco. Super crispy with the head on and eyes staring right at you. I've never had shrimp pad pong kari which is a dish that Patty said we needed to get. There's outdoor seating available for takeout orders, which you can order on the iPad outside, or you can sit inside but may be subject to the waitlist. Reservations are also available online. It was surprisingly crowded on a random Wednesday evening when my friends and I went; we waited about 20 minutes for our group of 4. We ordered dishes to share family-style. The Ayara toast was cute and came in elephant shapes. The pad see ew was well mixed and tasty, and the chicken khao soi packed some eat. We ordered the cashew nut wok dish with chicken and it does come with rice. To finish, we had a mango sorbet and a mango sticky rice - both had generous portions and I liked both. This time I tried their classic papaya salad, spicy basil, and green curry. A must if you love green curry! The papaya salad was fresh and crunchy! And Spicy Basil was solid! I got pad Thai with 4 shrimp which at first I was disappointed by the clearly divulged amount but they are nice size for 4. Beautiful day in Westchester, right by LAX, and Ayara was the perfect stop. They do not offer full sit-down service before dinner, but the patio is open and lovely for lunch. I ordered the lunch special, which comes with a small dish, large dish, and a drink. I went with the Pad See Ew, a bit heavier on the oyster sauce, which I did not mind. The wings, the appetizer that came as my smaller dish was super crispy on the outside, but the meat was a little dry and would have had more of a punch in flavor. My partner ordered the Massaman curry with white rice and thoroughly enjoyed it. Rich, comforting, exactly what you want from a good curry. For my drink, I had the Thai iced tea. It appears to be made in-house, it comes pre-bottled with their logo and they give you a cup of ice to pour it over. It is on the sweeter side, but once the ice melts and it blends a bit, it balances out nicely. We also ordered the mango sticky rice to go while we sat on the patio, and it was absolutely delicious. The rice was perfectly cooked, the mangoes were ripe and sweet, and the coconut sauce had just the right balance of saltiness and sweetness. Super refreshing and a beautiful way to end the meal. Absolutely would return, especially if heading to or from the airport. The first time I had Ayara Thai food was during lunch time, which a friend of mine taught me how to order via the website. I don't believe the restaurant is open to take orders during the day (don't quote me on this) but it is extremely convenient to be able to place the order online with a reliable pick up time. They text you when your order is ready. Bonus points for efficiency! Since we were with the group, the first time, we were able to eat outside on the patio area. Two days later, my husband and I shamelessly returned for takeout, and then returned again a couple of days later, lol. I've had dishes from Ayara before but usually via Uber Eats/Door Dash. Today I finally was able to come in person with some friends and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It took us a long time to decide what to order because everything just sounded so good! Great little Thai restaurant near LAX. It's a small space with a few tables to recommend making reservations since it does get pretty busy in the evenings. My favorite dish was the Duck Nom Tok! We love Ayara! It's our favorite spot for post airport pick up dinner--plenty of parking in the large lot to the west, and extremely friendly staff. This time they made several recommendations for the special lobster which was incredible and the sauce had a deep and rich spice to it which we absolutely loved. I got there too late to be seated The take out window for ordering and interaction is conveniently set up to the right of the entrance. I was really hungry, so I went with the staple this time. I ordered the pad Thai. I thought it was really good and really well-made. It was neatly packaged and I had everything I needed to eat in my car lol. I would love to come back in the near future to try the full experience of sitting at the restaurant to enjoy my food and hospitality. I came to Ayara Thai for a quick solo dinner and left completely satisfied. I ordered the Veggie spring rolls, original pad Thai, and "When Tigers Cry" tri tip. Everything hit! Patty, my server, was warm and enthusiastic. She was clearly proud of the food here (and rightfully so). The tri tip was juicy and flavorful with a Tigers Cry sauce that brought the heat and the flavor (yes, I considered drinking it). The pad Thai was fragrant, flavorful, and hit every craving I had. We were going to eat at another restaurant but we weren't welcomed at that restaurant, Shokudo. We're not bums! We were walk-ins, with out a reservation. The restaurant was half empty restaurant they told us it would be an hour and a half wait. I'm so absolutely done with this place. The food's great but their service absolutely stinks. This is our (wife + me) place for Thai in SoCal! We just got back from Thailand and this is as close as you get to authentic in LA. Prik Nam Pla is on point (spicy fish sauce) and everything we've had, from beef salad to lobster pad Thai, is just delicious. They also have Chang beer! It is usually super busy but the staff is always friendly with great recommendations. You can eat inside for dinner (but make a reservation) or out on their "food window patio" (no reservation needed). Come try it and you'll likely see us here! read more

I've been coming here for years . The quality is not the same anymore . I ordered something spicy it wasn't , it didn't even taste like it usually does and it seemed undercooked and was missing mint it usually has a lot but there was barely any . The shrimp was soggy and didn't taste the same either . This is the only place I've ever ordered from that never gives you utensils . Ayara Thai is located very close to LAX and seemed a good place for lunch after my Airport pick up duties. Parking is not a problem because there is a large adjacent free lot. Keep in mind, at this eatery there is no table service or inside seating during lunch time. Instead, you order and pay at the take out counter, pick up your packed carry out order, then sit outside to eat, or take the food home. The Elephant shaped Ayara toast (6 pieces for $12) was crisp and tasty. It is covered with a ground spread of seasoned pork and shrimp, then deep fried perfectly to provide a good crunch. What spoiled the dish was the flavorless cucumber sauce that accompanied this starter. For the mains, we got the Prik King with Beef. The meat was tender and the oily gravy had a kick, but delivered low on spices. Also, the long beans lacked texture and the usual earthy and nutty taste. The Penang curry provided tender chicken pieces in a thick coconut sauce that was uneventful. The whole dining experience was tarnished by the takeout set up. The provided paper plates were absorbent, stealing an amount of gravy from the servings. The napkins were only few, small in size and too thin to be of any substantial use. I had also asked for Thai Chilis with fish sauce. This takeout concoction looked and tasted old, while failing to provide the true fragrance, flavor and satisfaction of the real thing. The restaurant was fairly small but cozy, with a good amount of wall decorations to enjoy. Our server was great. It was my group's first time, and he helped us get started with some recommendations and checked in periodically to make sure we're enjoying ourselves. I tried their chicken sate appetizer, the Tom Kha soup (mild spice), and Spicy Basil with crispy pork belly (medium spice). The chicken sate was well seasoned but a little tad dry. The peanut sate sauce was an amazing pairing with the skewers. The Tom Kha soup has a generous amount of mushrooms, and the assorted mushrooms added a variety of textures to enjoy the soup. The soup itself was light but creamy with a right amount of sweetness. The soup was quite tart, and I did wish I ordered a higher spice level to balance out the flavors. The few pieces of chilis in the soup were appreciated for adding that extra kick. I am mixed with the spicy basil. I enjoyed the sauce and how garlicky it was along with the basil and chili flavors. However, my pork belly was rather tough and chewy and needed the sauce for flavor. The green beans were also fairly hard. Overall, I did enjoy my time at Ayara Thai and enjoyed the food. My friend's were raving about Ayara Thai as being their favorite Thai restaurant on the west side, and I have to say that they certainly are up there in quality and pricing. Having just landed at LAX, it was a close enough walk to get to Ayara Thai from Terminal 1 to meet friends for lunch. They do not offer dine-in for lunch but have plenty of outdoor seating. You order either from the kiosk or with the staff at the window. Their menu was massive and I was so pleased to see how everything vegan or vegetarian was clearly marked, and you had the option to veganize items. Plus, there lunch deal is fabulous - for $20, you get a main, appetizer, and a drink. That's awesome! I went with their Tofu Pad See-Ew with papaya salad and a Thai Tea (which uses a non-dairy creamer). The noodles were fire and the use of Chinese broccoli does not go unnoticed. Papaya salad had a nice kick to it as well. My friends shared their Tom Yum and Fried Tofu and both were also delicious.
