    Green papaya salad
    Darien M.

My two friends, and I chose two dishes to share: we had the Red Curry with Chicken, with brown rice, and the green papaya salad. The green papaya salad was good and just spicy enough. I wish they had had the option to add shrimp on it. The curry was a generous portion in terms of the sauce, but it could've had a little more chicken. Plus, we actually ordered it with chicken and tofu, but there was no tofu in it. The sauce was quite tasty. After a flight across country, we thought we would try this Thai restaurant. It was already 9 PM. As we walked in, everything seemed normal, with a table of about six people and other people at the bar. But, the private party plus the bar soon got incredibly loud as the minutes went on to such a point that we could not hear ourselves speak to each other at all. It was very unpleasant. The wait staff seemed oblivious that we were seriously not enjoying ourselves. There are nothing but hard surfaces in this restaurant. So our nice peaceful dinner after a flight across the country was anything but that.

Ended up here one day after work - mainly because I didn't feel like driving and if I drove, driving even more looking for parking. First world problems ... Anyway, it's walking distance from home. But had I drove, I could have parked across the street in the Bristol Farms lot or on the residential side streets. There's also a lot at the far end of this strip of businesses. I'd say park on Lincoln but for safety, I'm recommending not to. So, dropped in and it's quiet. Couple parties seated in the dining area and one couple at the bar. Made for great service. Friendly and attentive. I enjoyed the food. Ordered a sample plate so I could have a little bit of everything. Then the Red Devil Noodle dish. For the most part, even though not spicy - I enjoyed the flavors. I asked for extra hot and either that was missed or the chefs/cooks tame it down for their clientele. It was remedied when the server brought over the array of spicy flakes & sauces. A few bites of the noodles were chalky. To be clear, just a few bites. Otherwise, I cleared that dish stopping shy of licking the bottom of the bowl. Same for the coconut ice cream. It's not dairy free btw which isn't a big deal as I love it both way. It was good, close to home and I enjoyed the experience. I have another option close to home for when I don't feel like driving again.

Food was correct on the taste but the ambiance was shady. Locals had a bit too much to drink with hostess involved.

The Fresh Summer Roll, Salmon Green Curry, and Pad Thai were good. The Fresh Summer Roll was light and refreshing. Classic Thai comfort dishes.

Street parking. Easy to find a parking spot. Restaurant is very modern decor with bar. We ordered the chicken skewers which came with 4 chicken skewers and a peanut sauce and a spicy sauce. We ordered spring rolls which were small and tasty. Our party of 6 had pad Thai which is what we try at every Thai restaurant to see how good the Thai food is. Yes, it passed. It was delicious with pork and tofu. Our waitress took our whole order without writing it down and we were all served the correct food! The Alaskan salmon was a bit over done. It came with a garlic and black pepper gravy on a bed of asparagus with brown rice. The duck confit salad was delicious and was a very generous portion. The spicy eggplant dish did have a kick to it and was delicious. The yellow curry was a very large size and we had to take some home.

It's been awhile since we've been here and food quality has dropped. We ordered the calamari, tom yum soup, red devil noodle, and spicy eggplant. The calamari and tom yum soup was underwhelming. Red devil noodle and spicy eggplant was decent but overall the food was okay. Thai tea was probably the best thing we ordered. The restaurant is pretty big inside but service is good.

One of my favorite places in the area. Great thai food. Lots of options. Grear portions. Went in after a workout. Ordered the Red Devil Noodle spicy. Made perfect. Restaurant was a little busy for a Saturday afternoon. Service is always great.

Been here so many times and I can't believe I never reviewed it!!! This is my mentor's favorite restaurant and we celebrated many birthdays and milestones here so it will always have a special place in my life and heart. First of all, the restaurant is really pretty and welcoming and they do have a small bar and always have a game on with one or two locals hanging out talking to staff, super friendly vibes. The staff are all very knowledgeable and kind (they also don't write things down and somehow never forget all of my substitutions, impressive!). I usually ask them for recommendations and they are spot on. We tried calamari today and it came with a generous portion (pic snapped when almost finished, heh heh) and the taste was fantastic! A great batter and lovely crunch and the sweet and sour sauce was delectable. Excellent! I got the Pad Se Eww with chicken and added basil. Sooo soooo good! Love this warm bowl of noodley goodness. My beau got the massaman curry with rice and he loved it as well. Another home run for Thai Thalay. Until next time!

Pineapple Fried Rice with Chicken, Shrimp, Crabmeat, Cashew Nuts, Eggs, and White and Green Onions.

Pineapple Fried Rice with Chicken, Shrimp, Crabmeat, Cashew Nuts, Eggs, and White and Green Onions. Pad See Ew with Flat Noodles, Chicken, Broccoli, and Egg. This last minute dinner decision was well worth the U-turn! Not only was the food well seasoned and freshly made, the ambiance was sophisticated, but approachable. The staff wasn't super attentive, but they also weren't rude.

First time ordering from Thai Talay, and it was alright! I got the Pad See You, and it was pretty standard. It tasted just as I expected it to, so it didn't "wow" me, but it was a solid meal. Next time I'll try something else on the menu.

April 2023: Met up with my best friend & we decided to try someplace new; Thai Talay in Weschester! Cute decor, fun names for the dishes on the menu & tasty food! We enjoyed our window seat as well! Also, noticed the friendliness, as well as with long time customers...cool! Fresh Summer Rolls/Shared ($8): Plentiful & delicious! Red Devil Noodles ($15): Tasty! I appreciated the additional side spices to spice up the noodles even more...to match the name! Haha! My best friend also enjoyed his chicken pad Thai!($15) Thai Iced Tea($4.50): Excellent & refreshing! Overall: Always fun trying someplace new!

I frequented this area for a lifetime and have never noticed this place. The first time, I happen to be in the area with the friend, and we decided to dine in. there is a small parking space in the back, so make sure you go around and drive slow. The area inside nice. You can have friends with you. Chill or enjoy happy hour at the bar area it is located by the front door. We entered from the back, which Is wear the restrooms are and found an open seat with ease. I ordered the seafood noodle dish and my company order the tom kha soup. I always order sake. Love it! Seafood noodle dish was mostly calamari which was not so tasty. I could barely identify the other proteins. I didnt have the soup the first time bur the second time was good. Second visit, I ordered sake, rice dish (not pictured) and shrimp and pork dumpling. The dumpling was different in taste and texture.

How many people does each table seat on their patio and do they have enough heaters?

They are currently doing only take out and delivery. I've never seen a patio only indoor seating and bar. Soon Los Angeles will allow limited indoor seating. Check next week for further information.

This past weekend was their 22 year anniversary celebration. Fried Chicken night, here we come!! Sadly, we were too late, and they'd run out. (Insert crying emoji, but we'll get earlier reservations next year) Instead, we (over) ordered our favorites so we'd have plenty of leftovers. We've never had an issue with the delivery, hot, tasty, plentiful. But this, THIS, was next level. Even hotter, more flavor, larger portions!! Perfectly cooked shrimp with Pad See Ew, fried tofu in the green curry, the fan fave when tigers cry Tri-tip, plus much more. We were blown away. Everyone was super friendly, it felt like we were in a friend's house with family. And for what was a very busy night, service was spot on, and really fast. Added bonus: for the celebration, there was a "Photo Booth" where we got a caricature drawn of us, and then, we got to spin a prize wheel. We won a small box of house made Mango Sticky Rice Macrons. Ooooh, boy were they delicious!! ATTENTION AYARA, put these on the menu for regular ordering. It will make the whole world a better place. If you've made it this far, go to Ayara, the hospitality, service, and delicious food are absolutely worth it.

The dishes are kind of like a small plates setting. A bowl is just a small amount of food to accompany your base (rice or veggies). The bowls are said to rotate by the day which I take to mean as preprepared (hence express). The staff were polite and brought the food out swiftly. I ordered a fried rice base and a green curry chicken bowl. The fried rice was a bit too wet (like freshly cooked rice turned into fried rice) and lacking a strong soy sauce presence; however, it does mean that it pairs well with the curry without being overwhelming. The curry has a bright fresh flavor with a creamy coconut milk taste and was definitely the highlight of the meal. I also managed to sample their soft serve. The flavors were Thai tea and blue butterfly. They tasted pretty standard and the Thai tea and blue butterfly definitely shone through, but not much else. All in all, one of the better places to eat at in El Segundo and the small plates style is definitely an interesting concept.

As you walk towards the building there's a small sign that says the restaurant name. Aside from that you wouldn't know where to go and would be confused. The restaurant itself is nice but it's only for the breakfast cafe. You walk towards a kiosk and place your food order. Unfortunately I learned the hard way that it's better to just order online. It was chaos and confusing as the person onsite couldn't give me a timeline of when my food would be ready, but you're watching orders flying out the doors. In total I waited 45 minutes only to be reminded that I couldn't dine in, but wasn't told how long my order would be. Food was subpar, portion was small and bland. The fried rice was very dry and inedible, it taste like it's a couple of days old. The Tom Kha was decent, not the best I've had but it was good enough to enjoy. The Penang curry was very flavorful and had a good kick, this would be my favorite. Order ahead of time, there's nothing personable about this place.

The restaurant itself has a very traditional Thai atmosphere and decor, and the server who is usually there has always been very nice and provided great service. Unfortunately, the reason I'm giving only 2 stars has nothing to do with the food or the server. On two separate occasions, months apart, I've witnessed an older gentleman, who I assume is the owner or manager, repeatedly scolding the server while customers are sitting nearby eating. Of course, I don't know what happens behind the scenes and it's not my place to get involved in anyone else's situation. But as a customer, it's uncomfortable to sit so close to that while trying to enjoy a meal. The first time I thought it might have just been a bad day, but when I came back months later and experienced the same thing again, it really affected my impression of the place. It's unfortunate because the food is genuinely very good and the server has always been wonderful. I just wish those conversations were handled privately and away from customers.
