Yum woon sen - 1/5, only 2 sad pieces of shrimp, a few mint leaves and soggy peanuts, the rest is lettuce and onion. The dish is overly sour and all I could taste is lime juice, no other flavors. Chicken larb - 1/5, no large lettuce pieces to wrap the ground meat in. Again, too much lime juice and this dish tastes just like yum soon sen. meh. The waitress was literally kicking us out of the restaurant. She stated the restaurant will be closed at 9pm. We said okay. It was 8:30pm. We wouldn't have stayed until 9pm. 3.5 rounded up. Good casual lunch and I suppose dinner spot if you're in the area but probably wouldn't go out of my way to get here. I've only come for lunch since it's convenient and satisfies my Thai food cravings. Kao soi w/beef- tasty and big portion, however, the beef was a bit tough and there wasn't enough. I ordered from the regular (not the lunch) menu and it didn't say the beef was an extra $1 but it showed up on the bill. I do love the crunchy noodles on top and the noodles really soak up the sauce. Kao soi w/chicken- flavor is consistent with the beef kao soi and consistent with the amount of meat as well (not much). I think I slightly prefer the chicken over the beef though since the chicken wasn't as tough and no extra mark up. I'd get this again. Fresh spring rolls- tasted as fresh as it sounds. Came with 4 pieces and I liked the peanut dipping sauce it came with. Wouldn't mind getting this again. Chicken satay- this also came with 4 pieces and peanut sauce with some sweet pickled cucumbers. The cucumbers were a bit too sweet for me and the chicken was a bit too dry. I'd probably pass on this in the future. I think this place has potential but the food needs to be a little more flavorful. The taste test is not so popular between my husband and me. The items of things we got is not a difficult items or exotic where the taste might be a bit of a challenge to make. Simple things like Chicken Satay, Honey Roasted Duck and Chicken praram. I can tell you that for the price of Honey Roasted Duck is not worth it. The duck tasted old and chewy. There's lots of it but not a great thing when it doesn't taste good. Something about it doesn't sit well with me. Chicken Praram with no vegetables is very small in peanut sauce amount. The only thing that tasted normal is the chicken satay. They are not cheap in prices just fyi. The service is friendly and easy. They are very obliged to helping you out. Very much appreciated from me since I like friendly ppl. Especially when they are in service business and doing their job. I can tell you that the restaurant is very nice in decoration. Very quiet and very clean. The best!!! My husband and I went late to Thai Tamarind- I think we were seated at 8:15p- long day for everyone. We ordered all the yummies- chicken satay, green curry, yellow curry and tofu friend rice (we were clearly hungry!). It was all sooooo good! We found this gem on Yelp while visiting from out of town and called in to find a table for our group in short notice. All of us came in famished and enjoyed the food so thoroughly. We ordered the Massaman Curry, Red Curry with chicken, Thai pineapple fried rice, Tom yum soup. The highlight of the evening was the Spicy Basil Thai Fried Rice and the veggie Red Curry, that we ordered for the two vegetarians in the group. Also, I appreciate the fact that they paid close attention to the spice levels we requested and were consistent across all the dishes so the dishes ordered for the kids came out at a medium while those the adults chose were indeed spicy as requested. Love this place. Food is excellent, way less oily than other Thai places (too much oil tends to make my stomach upset). Also less spicy than other places, which suits me well, too, though I'm sure you could ask them to make things spicier. It always seems quiet there, which makes it a great place to bring a group because you aren't competing with a loud restaurant. We've been consistently having our bookclub here bc there's always space, and the corkage fee is minimal. Service is fast, food comes out right away, and since they aren't that busy when we go, it's easy to get someone's attention. I took my mom to dinner recently and she's kinda finicky, so I was hoping she'd be into Thai. I know that Thai can be hit or miss, but Thai Tamarind hit it out of the park and I was so happy, I sat down to write this. We arrived almost right when they opened and we were the only ones there for a little while. Staff was very friendly and attentive. I was hungry and the food was a quicker turnaround than I expected... I thought it was priced fairly well for what you get in return. The Pad Thai was really good (mom liked it) and their Panang Curry was also delicious. The white rice was fluffy and cooked well. My mom and I really enjoyed the sticky rice and mango at the end. After our meal and after paying, I needed to take care of some things with my mom at the table (we didn't stay for longer than 20 minutes after our meal) and they kept filling our water cups, which was really nice of them to do. We left when more people started coming in and after my mom and I figured out what we needed to figure out. The ambiance was really nice, the bathrooms were immaculately clean, the food was delicious, and the staff was great. I'll definitely come back. I think this is my favorite Thai restaurant around. The food portions are not that large, and it is on the more expensive side for local Thai food, so please be expecting of that.
