I love this place! Definitely give it a try if you're thinking about it--it might be my favorite Thai place in SD county even though I've only been once. I haven't been to other locations so I can't compare, but this one was fantastic. I tried this place after my boyfriend had spicy edamame leftovers from here and they were AMAZING even a day old. Their spice level is a little hotter than other places in San Diego and I think they said a medium was 3? I got the spicy eggplant with shrimp at a 5 and it was perfect for what I wanted. My boyfriend got the pork belly at a 2 and it was a little too sweet for him so he might kick it up a notch next time. The spicy edamame at a 4 was great. The entrees are generously sized so we had leftovers of everything. I noticed the table next to us was also a couple and they shared both an entree and a dessert, so if I'm not feeling particularly hungry I might try that next time.. but also maybe not because the leftovers also tasted fantastic. The service was super attentive--they didn't hover but if you looked over someone would come by right away. The place is also super cute (they took the time to shape the rice into hearts) and there's lots of free, close parking. read more

The restaurant was open for a week when we decided to stop in. We've enjoyed the food at their Oceanside location and were excited they opened in Shadowridge. We had the lunch portions of Pad See Ew and Cashew Nut with Chicken. Tom Kha was also on order. Lunch included vegetarian soup, house salad, egg roll and potsticker which arrived before the entree. The veg soup looked and tasted like Tom Yum. The house salad was sliced cucumber in mild vinegar. We were already getting full. Tom Kha was only one size which came in a big bowl, shareable. My Cashew Nut with Chicken arrived with tofu, the incorrect protein. The table next to us ordered the same dish WITH tofu so I believe that's where the mix-up happened. We were seated before that other party and also ordered first. However, the other party got their food before us. The patrons were very friendly with the staff giving us the impression that they knew each other. That worked against us. We felt as though we were forgotten a little. It took a few minutes for the server to come out by so I could tell her my order was incorrect. There were a couple of other times we were waiting for the server to come by. The boba in my Thai Tea was in clumps. No piece would be small enough to fit through the straw. I used a fork and took bites at a time. Wouldn't they have seen the clumps when scooping boba into my glass or did they not care? We're going to give this place another try. The food is good and we're optimistic that the next experience will be better. Sadly, it wasn't great on this visit. The restaurant is small, intimate. There are maybe 7 tables in total. I'm so glad Thai Thai has finally opened, I have been waiting over a year. We used to go to the Oceanside location regularly, so when the signage popped up and a coming soon sign was put outside, I was very excited. As we continued going to the Oceanside location and asking for updates, they said that they were having a hard time with permits and inspections. In the meantime, I kept driving by to see if it was open yet. Fast forward to now, and finally, we have an opening. I drove by on opening day and it was packed. I couldn't get back for a few days to try it, but I was looking forward to it. When we arrived, we could tell that it was busy. There was a line out the door and people were waiting both inside and out. We found a parking spot and walked in. We discovered that the line was for people waiting for food to go. We still waited about 20+ minutes for someone to acknowledge us so that we could get a table as we listened to the people who had already placed their orders. They had waited over an hour to get their food. Most people were pretty patient because they realized it was within the first few days of opening. Once we were finally seated and given menus, things were a bit smoother. After the orders of the people waiting were mostly filled they came to take our order. After that, the food came pretty quickly. We got cashew nut chicken spice level 3/10 and spicy eggplant spice level 2/10. Both were good. A few days later a friend texted me asking if I wanted to go to lunch at Thai Thai spur of the moment. I agreed and we met there around noon. We were given waters instantly, and our orders were taken. I ordered pad see ewe with chicken and she ordered masaman curry with chicken and Thai iced tea with boba pearls. I ordered a spice level two and she ordered a spice level three. The food came in a timely manner. Her dish was not spicy at all and mine had mild spice, which I liked. The dish was flavorful and I enjoyed it a lot while we caught up.. When we first arrived, there was only one other table by the time we left there was only one table that was free. I mistakenly assumed that if I ordered something that was on the lunch menu, it would come automatically from the lunch menu and include the sides. Unfortunately, I didn't realize until later that that was not the case so if you want something off the lunch menu, make sure that you mention the lunch special. I will give them some more time to get settled and into a routine before I return next, but it won't be too long, I'm sure. I really enjoyed my meals. read more

After long time seeing the sign, finally Thai Thai is open, and yesterday we decided to try it by ordering takeout. Our order was Egg Rolls - 5 for $11, vegetarian cabbage with celery, just OK, we finished it with a help of sweet & sour sauce. One order of Pad See-Ewe (with chicken and 0 spice level for $15) comes in nice size portion and I split it with my boss. The food was packed in original Uber Eats bag, and it was ready in 15 minutes to pickup, which brings up another point - food was just warmed up. So Pad See-Ewe was good, but not outstanding. By the way the place was packed, mainly with senior citizens , with A/C at full blast. So maybe we will try it one more time the location is great just like 5 minutes drive for us. read more

My first time at this location. It was not busy when my friend and I got there around noon on Easter Sunday. We were immediately seated and service was quick and friendly. I ordered Thai Tea with boba, Chicken Pad Thai, Chicken and Eggplant, and Mango Sticky Rice. I chose spicy level 8 and it had a good kick to it. They also brought me extra hot sauces on the side.
