We had been to Thai Thai in Vista previously and were not overwhelmed, but I was really craving some thai food on the drive home Friday, so my husband placed an order from this location. After some back and forth, we finally settled on spicy edamame, pad thai with combo meat, and spicy fried rice. Although we both love really spicy food, I wasn't sure how to gauge the spice levels here and stuck with a level 4 for my pad thai. My husband, brave and not afraid of heartburn or ulcers, got a level 10 on his rice. We both ordered thai iced teas with boba as well. Online ordering was simple and fast, and everything was ready upon our arrival. The presentation wasn't anything spectacular, but I wasn't expecting it to be either. I just wanted good Thai. My pad thai, although very good, didn't have any heat to it at all. It just seemed like normal pad thai, but I did notice a good amount of meat mixed in. My husband had no complaints about his rice as far as quality, but didn't have the explosion of heat he was looking for either. The spicy edamame was tasty as well, and had more of a soy sauce and garlic with a little pepper added. The tea's were very good, and surprisingly much larger than I would have expected. This was the first Thai food we've had since the pandemic started and the first takeout. The Cashew Nut w/Mock Chicken was awesome. The fresh rolls were excellent with the peanut sauce! If you're expecting the same food that you got under the previous owner...... its not the same they don't use the same traditional thia ingredients. We tried the shrimp glass noodle salad, the tom ka, the larb the green curry.....the only thing that tasted like it used to were the fresh spring rolls. Sorry to see the change in ownership has altered the quality of the food here. I dined here for years. After the change of owners, the quantity of the dishes increased ~30%, but the quality went down significantly. We've tried reluctantly several times over the past several months and it's always been disappointing. We won't be returning. I hope to see Fallbrook find a new Thai place soon. Spicy basil is so good here that I haven't been able to try anything else because every time I go, I get the same thing. It's #51 on the menu; I get it with chicken and spicy level 2. This used to be my absolute favorite restaurant in Fallbrook, but the owner sold it and they got a different cook and it's totally completely inedible but I can't go back. I've tried it now twice and even my dog would eat it I am so bummed. I certainly hope that they repair the damage they have done to my pallet. read more

I am very disappointed with the customer service that this restaurant offers. I had a problem with my GrubHub+ order from Thai Thai Restaurant and the young woman that I spoke with did not want to even listen to me about it. I simply wanted to make sure there was no egg in my wife's Kee Mao Spicy Noodle dish that we had ordered from Thai Thai Restaurant via GrubHub+; however, GrubHub+ had no place on the app to note this alteration (While it is GrubHub+'s app, I think the restaurant controls how to list their food and beverage items and the alterations that can be made on them, correct?). Either way, the woman at the restaurant said our order was already made and did not want to help me anymore. She did not even seem to be listening to me as I spoke. I guess Thai Thai Restaurant is so cheap and in such a desperate situation that they cannot even remake a simple dish to help out a customer. The only way I will be coming back to this restaurant is when I am back in Fallbrook so that I can complain to them in person. I will definitely not be ordering food from them again. We ordered the seafood green curry which lacked a little salt and sugar. Once we added those at home (we did takeout), it tasted much better. We also ordered the Spicy Noodles. The noodles were good, but the chicken was a little dry. The thai teas were so yummy and a generous size! Spice levels are hard to gauge. We ordered a level 1 for our curries and got what tasted like a 5. Our roommates got an order of Pad See Ew at a level 4, but tasted no spice at all. I find that updated reviews are just as important. Like most people I like to support our local stores and restaurants. So occasionally I have returned here, and since it is the new year I thought I would up since my last review. Since my last review I have been here a handful of times. The service is always, always friendly. Today's service was just as friendly, but I have to say the service was quicker and they were more attentive. Usually we have to flag down a server for refills or the check. It's irks me to have to mention that the consistency of the spice level is still off. I'm usually a spicy level, 5 or 6 (1-10), but from the past visit's I felt I was given a 8-9. So today I ordered Goong Ba Woosen with shrimp with a level 2 and to bring the spice rack so that I could add more if needed. I felt my dish was a level 5-6. So you have been warned... the spice level request may not be on point. Although the flavor of my order was delish and on point. My husbands dish on the other hand wasn't quite bland, and to me a little on the dry side, compared to his past orders. Dessert tonight was coconut ice cream, very good as usual. The thai iced tea was ok, not as sweet as usual. I enjoy the flavors of Thai food so I will return here, for the most part the food is good. Worst Thai I've ever eaten. Crab fried rice ( from dried crab, not fresh was terrible and made with low quality rice. Angel chicken wings were over deep fried, no seasoning and a terrible, out of a can sauce. Tom Ka mixed soup had the worst seafood especially the calamari, and huge chunks of tomatoes and onions. The food was really great but the service not so much. Waitress seemed annoyed to have to take our orders, didn't ask us what heat level we wanted on our food. Some plates were way too hot and some didn't have much heat at all. I had yellow curry with duck and it was delicious.
