I expected much more based on the reviews. The customer service was bland. The food was basic. I ordered a 4/5 spicy and it had no spiciness at all. The tom yum soup had way too much basil. Without asking what I planned to order or asking my interest, they brought out chicken and rice soup and dropped it on the table without saying anything. What if I were vegan? What if I had allergies? What if I wasn't going to order the lunch special. The place was crowded so they must be doing something ok, I just didn't get the experience that others rant and rave about. I went here on Christmas Day. It was a last minute decision. I am glad they where open. They had a special whole fried red snapper with a sweet chili sauce. I got that along with the coconut Thai soup. The rice was even flavorful. I enjoyed the flavors. I really enjoyed the soup. This will be my Thai go to in my neighborhood. I look forward to trying more menu items. Update: I tried other items yesterday. I must say that I am highly disappointed. I selected the steak pad Thai. The steak was the toughest steak I have ever had and it was thin. The flavor was off putting and had no passion or care in the food. The soup was still good. The saving grace was the Thai eggrolls. I ordered the duck dish which was their specialty. It was my first visit and a take out. I also ordered chicken spring rolls as well. I was VERY disappointed with the portion size which was small and the food was tasty but too salty. For $ 13.00 dish I had maybe 6 thin slices of duck and a lot of pineapples with salty sauce. The food is good. The service is trash. And because of that, I will NEVER patronize their establishment again. We spent a total of $68. Our server did not crack a smile or offer any kind of hospitality the entire time. The servers spoke in their native language while stealing pointed glances at our table. There were tables marked "reserved," so we asked how to get a reserved table. We asked because we needed more space and they squeezed us into a four top. The server said the reserved section was for people who called ahead. But we observed as people began to trinkle in that there was no actual "reservation" system. We were discriminated against because we were black. Despite their intolerable, unfriendly, slow service, we left a monetary tip. And now I have a tip for the owner and manager of this establishment. You should be ashamed of yourself for discriminating against us for the color of our skin, especially given the fact that we are helping you pay your bills. There are a MILLION Asian/Thai restaurants throughout the DFW that we could have patronized. We chose you. And you let us down. You need to take your servers through discrimination training and learn to speak English clearly before you try to disrespect. I do not recommend this restaurant to any person. read more

The service was non-existent. Most of them could barely understand English. The guy server had a frown face on, while the older lady had one of those fake smile. I don't know if they just woke up or not like to work on weekend, but I just lost my appetite being seated by them. I knew it was going to be bad when I found out they're not Thai people when I first walked in. They seem to be a bit offended when asked as well. Bad stuff first because there really wasn't much of it. Lighting was poor and the chicken in the egg rolls was dry. After that I mostly just have positives to say. The little curry filled dumplings/balls whatever they're officially called were absolutely phenomenal. Tasty, crispy, good curry flavor, very fresh. Absolutely loved those. I had the Thai Garlic Shrimp. Went with fried rice and honestly not sure that made a difference. The shrimp was good not great. I'm not entirely sure it was the freshest I've ever eaten but the broccoli was clearly fresh cut and I loved the garlic sauce. I honestly could have just poured it over the rice and gone to town. Also it was garnished with fried garlic pieces and those were scrumptious. My fiancé had yellow curry and it was good. End of story. Mind-blowing? No not really but every item was cooked properly. The curry had a nice flavor. It tasted extremely good. We got the fried banana for dessert and I don't think we'll order it again but it wasn't a matter of execution. It just wasn't our flavor profile. Anyway all things considered I don't really think this is a place I need the bells and whistles. Fantastic lunch spot in the Hurst/NRH area. Specials include a cup of delicious homemade soup and the portions of the entrees are generous. Standouts include the Pad See Ew (flat noodles with Chinese & California broccoli) and the Pad Kra Pow (minced meat with peppers in a spicy sauce. Rice on the side). Heat levels are constant and towards the hot side so I recommend getting 1 level below your normal and asking for some dry pepper flakes on the side. I first came here about 9 months ago for dine-in and had an unpleasant experience overall, but wanted to give it another try before writing a review. My second time was ordering pick-up. On my first visit I found the atmosphere to be awkward. The restaurant was incredibly quiet, as there was no music playing, and only a couple other tables of people dining. The staff were inattentive. It felt like me and my companion were being ignored. Service was incredibly slow. I had to ask 2 people to get my ticket. It seemed like the other tables were getting normal service, though. It's BYOB, with no corking fee, which is always appreciated. The crab cream cheese pastries and the sauce with it were delicious. The shrimp pad thai would have been great, but the shrimp was overcooked to the point of being inedible. On my most recent order for pick-up, my food was ready quickly. The food was all hot, and the crab cream cheese was once again delicious. I got shrimp pad thai again and just like the first time it would have been great but the shrimp was incredibly overcooked. My companion got the pad kee moa and said the chicken was dry and chewy. We both agreed that we wanted to love this place, but won't be back. read more

Had lunch here and it was fine, but didn't wow me. The ginger chicken tasted okay but not really a lot of ginger flavor, and it came with bell peppers that were not listed on the description (I can't eat them, so this is a big deal for me). The level 4 spicy could have been taken up a notch for me. Service was quick and reasonably friendly-they seem to cater to a lunch crowd and had us out of there within a lunch hour.
