We ate here a while Came here with wife to order Togo food. I ordered Thai fried rice. I had to add soy sauce to it. A lot of soy sauce. I love Thai food and coming here the meal tasted plain bland. I felt kinda sad cuz usually Thai restaurants and their food is boom'n. But this one didn't seem to have me wanting to break dance after I eat. After eating here I looked up reviews here on Yelp, and it seemed to have good reviews. So I don't know what was going on that day we came. But I will tell ya I probably won't go back because in my opinion restaurants should always be on their best you never know who might show up and want to eat. A regular person, a yelper, or even a movie star. So always be ready with all the dishes at its best. For me. This was a experience to tell me to go to the next Thai place around. Not the absolute best Thai food, but it is a consistent good. One of the best in RVA. Super friendly staff, and a clean dining area. Takeout is always ready in 15-20 minutes. I go here weekly. IMHO Thai restaurants are either good at curries, or good at noodle dishes. I feel that Thai Top Ten is slightly better at noodles. read more

We are traveling up to NY from Miami and stopped overnight in VA. Found this place on Yelp but actually ordered from the wrong location so had to drive downtown to pick it up. The food was just not very good. I've eaten a lot of Thai food from some amazing places and this was just one of the worst. I feel bad writing this review but that's how bad the food was. The pad Thai was extremely bland with absolutely no sauce. The fried rice was just ok and so was everything else. I feel like I wasted money and driving time going to pick up this food. First visit & Mary warmly meeted & greeted. She was the only employee we saw but it was early dining. As we complimented on the nice decor, we saw the bar had some unfamiliar beers/IPAs on tap & were interested to try. I am a huge fan of Thai food and this restaurant did not disappoint! I didn't order anything fancy, just chicken fried rice (no egg) and crispy spring rolls; however, I asked for medium spice level (options are mild, medium, hot, and Thai hot), and my mouth is pleasantly warm. I LOVE it!!! Also, I was extremely impressed with the customer service! I placed a large order for 8 people. Each item was labeled, placed properly in bags with tons of plastic ware, napkins, etc., AND I was even offered assistance with taking the food to my car! I'll be back for sure. read more

It was very good! I ordered online, showed up a few minutes before the estimated pickup time, and my food was piping hot. Got back to my hotel to eat it nice and warm. The meal was delicious but.... I didn't receive any utensils to eat it with! Maybe it's my fault for ordering online too fast and not reading everything, I'm not sure. Either way, if you're traveling ask for utensils! This was our go to Thai Restaurant when we lived near Richmond. Now we make a point to stop when our travels take s near Richmond.

In our search to find more great Thai places, we ended up at the doors of Thai Top Ten. --Food: The first time we went I ended up getting a tried and true favorite, Pad Prik Pao, which had mushrooms, white onions, green onions, Thai basil, and snow peas in a spicy chili sauce. I ordered mine with chicken and Hot, and was it ever flavorful! The portion was filling but not to a point where you leave feeling overly stuffed. Fiancee had ordered the Pad Prik Khing with shrimp, which is similar, just with green beans instead of the mushroom and onions. She said it was one of her favorite dishes she's had at any Thai place, and we've since been putting green beans in our stir fries at home. We also ordered an order of Pad Thai, which was tasty (perhaps a little oily?), but we were so full from our other entrees we ended up taking half of it home. Whereas the stir fry dishes had a comfortable amount of food, there was a *lot* of Pad Thai, if you order that, maybe split it with someone, hah. I kid you not, we probably had a pound of Pad Thai. All entrees come with a side of rice that is delightful when eaten with the sauce. The second time we went we also tried the Bangkok chicken, which is battered chicken in a spicy sauce with peppers and broccoli. It's not that it wasn't tasty, it was, but I think I liked the grilled stir fry chicken more. But if you like crispy chicken, it's definitely a viable option! We also got shrimp tempura, which was good. There are lots of other items on the menu too that I would like to try, including but not limited to the curry, pho (never seen pho at a Thai place), and other stir fries. Fair warning, the spice levels here are what they sound like. Whereas something like "American hot" might only be a little hot other places, it tasted adequately hot here. Just be careful if you order something like Medium, expecting it to be Mild at other places. The spice is wonderful, but is present. --Cost: Entrees range from $10 to $14 depending on what protein / dish you get. Seems about on par with other Thai places in the area. --Service: The staff is super nice. Not sure if she's the owner or not, but woman that appeared to be in charge checked in with us to make sure everything was good and both she and another staff member were there to refill water glasses. Food has come quickly both times we went and we haven't had any problems at all. --Atmosphere: Very casual. One of the smallest details to me that I love is that each seat has a set of silverware with a different colored napkin. Okay, there are probably duplicate colors, but there are a rainbow of napkins throughout the place. That paired with the simple but nice wood design tables and dark floor just gives a really comfortable and inviting vibe. There is a bar but we sat at the tables both times. The actual restaurant is in the VCC shopping center. All the times we've went have provided easy parking next to the restaurant. --Overall: Thai Top Ten, to me at this point, is easily in the Top Three Thai places for me in RVA, if not number one. It's a little bit of a drive from where we live, maybe 10/15 minutes, but if we lived closer, we'd be there all the time. As it is, we plan on bringing family here when they come to visit and want Thai food. Thai Top Ten definitely gets my seal, sea lion, and walrus of approval. Great place! As soon as you go in, you are able to sit! They are not going to go and put you into a table, you choose! The menu is pretty good it has tons of variety! The food is super good, I would say it is one of the best Thai places around Richmond! I really encourage people to come and try it! The spices are on point! It smells funny as soon as you walk in but in my opinion, that is the beauty of Thai food haha! We inly had one "bad thing" about the service and food. I asked for a curry with veggies and they only gave me the curry with the rice, they forgot about the veggies! I asked for them and they gave it to me after a few min, which I do not mind, but then they charge me extra for them! We had been wanting to try Thai Top Ten for a while after noticing it near Virginia Center Commons. It's located in a strip of a larger shopping center and is fairly non-descript both inside and out. We dined on a late January Sunday evening and the place was surprisingly busy. They offer happy hour seven evenings a week which includes discounts on beer, house wine and liquor. They have a passable draft beer list including a mix of local and national craft brews. The wine list, likewise, is fine and was actually better than I expected. We had chicken potstickers in a curry broth to start. Absolutely delicious! I used a spoon to eat the remaining sauce like soup it was so good! I had an entree from the "Thai specialty" section. It was the number 2, though I don't remember what it was called. It was ground and crispy pork topped with a fried egg with onions and peppers. It was amazing and I had leftovers. I don't recall what my partner had but he loved it. The service, provided by a pair of servers who tag-teamed the entire restaurant, was warm and welcoming. We also were impressed by the diversity of patrons, including singles, families. That tells me this place is doing something really special. Dinner for two with two happy hour drinks, shared appetizer and two entrees was $58 including tax and 20'percent gratuity. I think there's also a five percent discount for paying cash. read more

I have eaten here twice... The first was in the evening and ordered the Pho with assorted beef... the broth was robust and flavorful. The noodles were perfect, vegetables still crisp, the varieties of beef tender. The bowl was served with a side of crisp bean sprouts, sliced jalapeños and lime wedge. Saw a lot of great reviews for this place, so 3 of us came on a Saturday night. Interior was clean and casual with a couple large screen tvs quietly playing football. I had curry, husband had tofu fried rice and friend had chicken with veggies in oyster sauce. Veggies were perfectly prepared. Each of us had a different heat level - no surprises. If we weren't so full, we welould have been tempted by desserts. Only suggestion might be to add a few more beer choices, maybe a couple darker selections. But all in all, would recommend read more

This place is fairly standard Thai food. Everything was good and we ate it all. There are a ton of thai places in Richmond, so I will give those a try before I come back here. Pad Thai- best meal we had, the right amount of sweet, and they made it spicy (can tell them how spicy you want it) Noodles of the Drunk- this was okay, was surprised by the lack of flavor. Finally a Thai joint in the VCC area! Food and prices are on par with typical Thai places in town. American spicy still has FIRE- so be warned. Mom and I came planning to dine in but changed our minds when we saw how casual the atmosphere is. Definitely has more of the feel of a casual take out joint. They do have a bar and have applied with ABC to serve booze. Portions of our pad see ew and drunkin noodles were easily enough for two full meals. We came across this wonderful cozy Thai restaurant after "Thai Gourmet restaurant" told us we couldn't dine in because they had to make take out orders on a Thursday! Anyways, we had the Fresh rolls which Were simply perfect. I ordered a bowl of Tom Kha which was just what I needed for this type of weather. We had fried rice too and it was on point. Even though there were signs everywhere that they were short staffed, the waiters took care of us with a big smile and the food came out really quick. I can't recommend this place enough! read more
