Thai valley is so special. I'm an out of state student, so every time I come home for a break, I always have to get Thai Valley Pad See Ew at least once. The staff is so sweet and they always remember my mom and I. They are always quick to take our order and always make sure we have everything we need. The food is so good, the prices aren't bad, and the portions are large enough that we always have leftovers for another day. The atmosphere here is so peaceful and relaxing. What caught me by surprised is it says on the menu "real crab meet" and when the dish comes out, they place a claw half open to eat. I was a 4 out of 5 star thai fried rice. Nice quaint place. Super friendly staff and tasty food so far (based on 2 visits). They don't skimp on the shrimp in their dishes which I appreciate. My only complaint with this place, as well as other Asian restaurants around here, is their dishes marked spicy are never spicy :(. If I see a chili pepper next to the description, I expect my nose to be running from the spice. All in all I will be back. I already know what I'm going to try on my next visit. read more

Very disappointed. I ordered from this restaurant for the first time because I saw very good reviews. This meal was going to be the last meal for my daughter before her surgery and she will not be able to eat solids for two weeks Well, I was so disappointed. I ordered a special item that I indicated I wanted spicy at level 10. They did not add not even one chili or anything. My daughter ordered a broccoli-based dish and asked for extra broccoli. Well, they charged $2.50 extra, and NOT one broccoli was in the dish. It actually looked like Greens nothing like Broccoli. Also for an order of $117.00, they did not even include any soy sauce, no hot sauce, and I have never seen an Asian restaurant not give a fortune cookie. Yes, not one fortune cookie. The flavors are good in the dishes here, no doubt, but what I really don't like are the markups for simple things that other Thai food places would hook you up with. I understand a $1 surcharge for brown/fried rice and shrimp. But a $1 surcharge for Chinese broccoli instead of regular broccoli is a little stupid. Thai Valley has the best Thai salads and soup! Their Tom yum kai soup is so bomb, the flavors are just right and tangy, not too strong or too spicy. They have really good lunch specials as well. The restaurant is well-kept and clean and the decorations are very colorful and ethnic to Thailand. And all of their meals go well with a cold Thai iced tea! read more

Went here on a lunch date with 2 of my best friends. We each got a lunch special and all enjoyed our selections which were orange chicken, some eggplant thing (definitely not mine, I hate eggplant.... It's a texture thing) and the Mongolian beef. Little saddened by lack of ingredients, some places throw in bean sprouts and cabbage this is straight-dick egg, broccoli, shrimp, noodle. Taste was good, since it was to go, I didnt bother begging for condiments. I have my trader joes REDUCED sodium soy sauce @home thank you. Taste was good. Tried spring rolls (4) 1 order they lacked the punch I am accustomed to from other places. Although they were fried crisp and fresh. My husband and I enjoy this place. It is never crowded and has a quiet zen like atmosphere. Our favorite dishes are the steamed dumplings (yummy), the spicy fried rice and the yellow curry chicken. WOW... What a surprise! Wife and I had a night with no kids, decided to try a new local place and were shocked! After MANY years as very loyal River Kwai customers (still are, but not in the mood for 20 minute drive), we have now found a second place to enjoy some tasty Thai dishes. AWESOME (I like more heat, but it was dead on for wife). Orange Chicken... Yes it was FRESH tempura like chicken (not parts) lightly coated sweet (not sickening) sauce Pad Thai... Solid Double. None of the plates were huge, and not going to call this the bargain basement of prices, but we have no issue paying for some quality. After trying out pad thais in the valley, this place beats 'em all. Perfect flavor, not too sweet and not too salty. I recommend that you eat in the restaurant instead of ordering take-out because the pad thai is hot and fresh. For some reason, the pad thai doesn't taste the same to me when I order take-out.
