Stopped by Thai Vendor for a Togo order. They are located extremely close to OHSU and the VA. My husband preordered on their website while I was on my way there. The prices are extremely reasonable and the portions are HUGE. $14 for pad Thai that fed three people, $7 for salad rolls with peanut sauce. The restaurant itself is a small hole in the wall with limited seating and limited parking. They have booths and a few stand alone tables. Right next door is a plaid pantry, we grabbed our drinks there before grabbing our Togo order. The employees were nice and quickly got out food out once we arrived. We had to wait a few mins past our pickup time but I rather have that than have food that's been sitting there. Flavor was on point and noodles were cooked perfectly. We will definitely be back! The food is quite good and Thai Vendor is kind of the only place within walking distance of OHSU hospital. I had dinner here with my siblings. We shared pad thai, kaprow chicken, some mixed vegetables in peanut sauce, and a green curry. Everything was good, but I'd probably opt for something different for vegetables. They don't serve alcohol too, which always goes well with thai food. The place wasn't busy on a Friday evening, but I imagine during the week it must get busy with all the hospital staff and students. read more

My husband and I stopped in here after taking the tram ride up to the hospital. It was a late lunch, and we weren't extremely hungry, so we shared the yellow chicken curry. I was so happy we shared it because the serving size was huge. The dish came with a great mix of chicken and veggies. The veggies were cooked perfectly... not overdone at all. The flavors were great. We ordered it a level 3 spice and it wasn't very spicy. My husband would have liked a little more but I thought it was great. Our waitress was the only one serving in the place. Thai vendor is really good place to eat authentic Thai food. The flavors are spot on it's small but if you're there at the right time of day, you can get a seat. We were there at 2:30 in the afternoon and it had all the seating we wanted. It's very clean. The help is very nice. I would recommend this for somebody that really likes good Thai food. read more

I work at OHSU. I wanted to Eat something that's outside the hospital and I came across this place on yelp. I didn't even know this place existed after working here for a long time- but it's right next to the plain pantry! I am in mixed emotions seeing Thai Vendor not getting enough attentions from Portland Yelpers. I had been driving pass it for 3 years but never made a stop for no reason. I finally made my first visit recently and I have been back more than 10 times so far. We call it "good old reliable Thai Vendor." as the foods stay consistently good, same with their wonderful service. I'm so glad it stays open late at night, by late I meant 9:30pm. I have tried more than 5 dishes from them and none of them disappointed me. You must try "Panang curry with salmon" and "Pad Kee Mao". Thai Vendor is located near OHSU. I got their pumpkin curry with chicken for dinner ($11.95). I was surprised by the portion size they provided, it was enough for me to have two meals. The curry came with pumpkin, green and red bell peppers, thai basil, broccoli and chicken. You can opt the chicken for another protein. There was a generous amount of vegetables and chicken with the curry. It also comes with a side of rice. Definitely will be visiting here again for their other dishes! read more

We just moved near to this restaurant and we liked it so we ordered a second night. This time I went to get the order which we called in. I arrived to an empty restaurant except for two people eating in. I paid and the guy said it would be about 5 more minutes it was almost done. 40 min later I am still waiting. Plus the time it took me to get there so over an hour for three things. Two people came into the restaurant and ordered and were served to go and I was still waiting. At this point I asked a female where the order was and she was very rude not offering any help and just shrugging her shoulders and saying we have phone orders and it's coming and an excuse me so she could go back in the kitchen. I am very disappointed I understand if a mistake was made but some offer of I am sorry or it is almost out can we offer a discount next time would have been nice. Apparently there are factions of thai food lovers who live on the hill who are split between this place and the small shack across the street. Both are good, but I think Thai vendor is fantastic. Has a casual, fun interior and friendly staff, and you can actually sit inside and eat your meal. The noodles here, whether it be pad see ew or any similar dish I've tried, are cooked phenomenally, nice and chewy with plenty of bite, and the sauce tastes authentic and never overwhelmingly sugary. The duck roll is an excellent snack I recommend, with crispy duck meat inside of a veggie-filled burrito-like roll you can take to go. read more
