NEXT door to Sawasdee Thai Restaurant / Food Hall is a Thai Boba Tea Shop. We tried the Strawberry Lemonade and Match Milk Tea with Boba.

By far the most authentic THAI restaurant in Portland. I stumbled across the original food cart 8 year's ago in downtown, Portland and glad that they are still open after the pandemic. I came here on a business trip and dine-in with my family today. Everything was superb, authentic and freshly made to order. Today we ordered the crab rangoon, chili paste fried rice and pad sew eww (stir fried flat noodles) with shrimp. Our experience felt like a nice homemade authentic Thai cooking. Customer service was amazing and prices was affordable. Next door to the restaurant/ food hall is a NEW Thai Boba Tea Shop. Give it a try! You'll get hooked!

Great food, not too long of a wait. Cook and one person working counter, hot spot super busy. Good food! Small restaurant could use a little help with ambiance. Otherwise great food.

Great portions for a low price. Good customer service and seating area. I had to parked down the street and walked to the area but it was still decent for the price. Fast outcome and little waiting time. I'd ordered pad thai and pad kee mao (drunken noodles) and it was delicious. I'd chosen protein: shrimp and they we're generous in the quantity as well as the quality. The shrimps were really big and I believe I received 5-7 each bowl. I feel it lacked veggies for both but it was still delicious. Wasn't too salty or spicy for the regular as I asked for a side of chili pepper. The noodles sticked to each other more so not as much oil. Word of warning, only a put a little of their chili pepper cause it has a definite kick!

OMGGGG I still have dreams about the chili paste fried rice!!! I visited Portland and was told I absolutely had to try the food carts and Thai food being my favorite cuisine I couldn't resist this one. I asked for the chili paste fried rice extra spicy and boy do they not mess around when you ask for extra spicy!! Still, it was delicious and I finished the entire thing! I think I've told every person that I know going to Portland about this truck. I was absolutely obsessed!!

Drinks: I cannot handle day drinking anymore, but I couldn't resist... - Acid test: bourbon based - Separation anxiety: rum based, tiki; I was hesitant about the lychee (not a fan), but it was very well balanced. This was my preferred cocktail Food: family style - Sweet and sour chicken: even the small was a big portion. Flavor was great on this, and it had a crisp, crunchy batter - Wok fried yu choy: great wok char - Smoked pork krapao: crispy pork belly pieces, a fried poached egg (literally deep fried). Break up the yolk to dip with the pork. The cucumbers and green beans are a nice clean accompaniment; spicy fish sauce was great - White curry with brisket burnt ends: I've never had a white curry, but the white curry and cauliflower was a great match for the super rich brisket pieces. I love the interesting combination! Note: pretty much everything has some spice to it, so for kids, the jasmine rice and yu choy are the main items, though my older daughter did ok with the fried chicken and brisket! Music was great, and all of the food flavors were bold. Though flavor combinations were unique, everything was cohesive. They were packed on a Wednesday for lunch, so I'm glad we got here before noon to snag a table. I wish the Bay Area had more interesting fusion done right like this (I feel like fusion is a bad word in the food world...)

It is not an in-house, concocted drink. Our favorite entree was the roasted mushroom fried rice. It has that complex charred aroma which is achieved by stir-frying over extreme heat with the wok. Our next favorite item is the sweet and sour fried chicken. A small order was plenty for us to share. It is sticky, sweet, and tangy with just the right touch of spice.

You can watch them frying the roti in front of you, they have a great flavor (they're a bit on the thick side), and the curry is absolutely sublime, with an incredible depth of spices without being hot. I also really enjoyed the freshness and textural blend of the "rice salad," with great cucumbers and herbs, although it was too spicy for my dining companions. I admit I didn't think the fried chicken was anything special--the chicken was moist (even the white meat), but the outside could have been crunchier. But I'm not the biggest expert in fried chicken, nor in pad thai, and both were certainly competent even if not as exceptional. Sticky rice was also cooked perfectly.

Fried Chicken Roti Combo - holy fried chicken crispy, combo comes with 1x leg and 1x thigh cut into two pieces. Curry was delicious and balance, excellent when dipped with the crispy roti or fried chicken. Pickled veggies were a great pairing and sweet and sour added another dimension. 2. Pad Thai - glistening noodles served inside an egg omelet. Very solid pad thai - sweet, sour, salty. Don't forget to add the fresh shrimp, these were cooked perfectly and plump. I recommend the restaurant should take the shrimp tail shell off for us. 3. Thai Basil Lemonade - solid lemonade, NEED more basil flavor. Overall, I'd come here again to eat and try other items as well. I'll give it a 5 star for now but more 4.5.
