NEXT door to Sawasdee Thai Restaurant / Food Hall is a Thai Boba Tea Shop. We tried the Strawberry Lemonade and Match Milk Tea with Boba.

By far the most authentic THAI restaurant in Portland. I stumbled across the original food cart 8 year's ago in downtown, Portland and glad that they are still open after the pandemic. I came here on a business trip and dine-in with my family today. Everything was superb, authentic and freshly made to order. Today we ordered the crab rangoon, chili paste fried rice and pad sew eww (stir fried flat noodles) with shrimp. Our experience felt like a nice homemade authentic Thai cooking. Customer service was amazing and prices was affordable. Next door to the restaurant/ food hall is a NEW Thai Boba Tea Shop. Give it a try! You'll get hooked!

Great food, not too long of a wait. Cook and one person working counter, hot spot super busy. Good food! Small restaurant could use a little help with ambiance. Otherwise great food.

Great portions for a low price. Good customer service and seating area. I had to parked down the street and walked to the area but it was still decent for the price. Fast outcome and little waiting time. I'd ordered pad thai and pad kee mao (drunken noodles) and it was delicious. I'd chosen protein: shrimp and they we're generous in the quantity as well as the quality. The shrimps were really big and I believe I received 5-7 each bowl. I feel it lacked veggies for both but it was still delicious. Wasn't too salty or spicy for the regular as I asked for a side of chili pepper. The noodles sticked to each other more so not as much oil. Word of warning, only a put a little of their chili pepper cause it has a definite kick!

OMGGGG I still have dreams about the chili paste fried rice!!! I visited Portland and was told I absolutely had to try the food carts and Thai food being my favorite cuisine I couldn't resist this one. I asked for the chili paste fried rice extra spicy and boy do they not mess around when you ask for extra spicy!! Still, it was delicious and I finished the entire thing! I think I've told every person that I know going to Portland about this truck. I was absolutely obsessed!!

There is plenty of seating there and It looked like there was a space for live music and string lights - probably a fun spot to grab dinner in the evening. We came for lunch and ordered the chao mian with chicken (spicy) and bian bian noodles (spicy). The noodles are cooked to order and we were served quickly. The serving sizes are huge. Neither one of us could finish ours. We'll likely order one dish to split next time, and that'd still probably be more than enough. The flavor of the chao mian was a bit lackluster. It was savory with a soy sauce flavor base, but got a bit repetitive with each bite. It was decently spicy and texture was there with the veggies, but I wish there was a way to customize with more spice or vinegar to taste. The bian bian noodles were more flavorful and also spicier. Fun noodle texture. There are also other vendors in the garden so you can pair a dessert, drink, or side with your meal while staying in the same area. Overall, a filling meal for a good price! Would come again to try their beef noodle soup.

Among the sea of food carts at the Midtown Beer Garden in downtown, Shawarma House really stands…read moreout for its excellent quality, flavor, and price. I went with their recommendation and ordered the No. 1 Chicken Shawarma Wrap, and it was fantastic. The shawarma itself was juicy and packed with flavor, and it balanced really nicely against the fresh vegetables and the tanginess from the pickles. The fluffy garlic sauce inside is airy, garlicky, and almost feels whipped, but the pro move is definitely to ask for extra along with some of their house made hot sauce on the side. Everything is wrapped and griddled to toasty perfection, making it an ideal compact grab-and-go lunch, or a great meal to enjoy more leisurely at one of the shaded picnic tables. One thing to note is that the orders do take a bit of time, so it is not the best option if you are in a rush. That said, it is absolutely worth it if you have a little time and patience, so just grab a brew, relax, and enjoy the weather while you wait.

Although it is still new and not all the spaces are filled yet, it seems like it will be a great place to dine there on nice weather days. I had already tried their bingsu food cart. This time I tried the Shawarma House. There are about 3 food carts that serve similar or the same food. I had the triple meat plate. It consisted of lamb, chicken and beef. It came with pita bread and hummus and tzatziki sauce. The sauce that drizzled on top was good but I couldn't quite tell what it was. The lamb meat was by far the best. The chicken and beef was okayed. Hummus and tzatziki serving was large. I wish I had more pita bread so I didn't have to waste the dipping. There was a good amount of rice under the meat. The plate was good overall but there was not enough sauce drizzled on the top. As a result, everything seemed dry.
