Today I got to try the Spicy Pad Ped with Squid and it was very tasty. Also, the service was very friendly and helpful.

Tried this new Thai Lao restaurant and everything was divine! Flavors were all distinctive. We ordered medium spicy but it was more like a mild. They don't have their liquor license yet so they said we could bring in liquor from 7-Eleven across the street of we wanted. Seems to be family run and they were all nice. Decor is very clean and understated. Chairs are sturdy and there were table cloths.

You already know the beef was good or it wouldn't get a good review from me. Got the spring rolls which was nice and hot. Wrapped the spring roll, noodles and the carrot & daikon with the lettuce and dipped it into the sauce. Winnahs. For the main entrees got the crispy fried noodles with seafood. It's like the Vietnamese version of Chinese seafood with cake noodles. Very crunchy and tasty. Lots of seafood. The other entree was the combo sizling plate. Yes, the plate was sizling. The plate had pate, sausage, meatball, beef and a fried egg. I've never tasted anything like that before. It's not the usual taste that you're accustomed to but i enjoyed it. I thought it was good. Both entrees and the salad are good serving size. I like the spring rolls and wish had more but that's just me. The service is excellent even though it was pretty busy. The waiter apologized for being late but it was quite understandable. He's so polite. The lady who might be the owner was very pleasant and personable. It was a very good experience. The only thing that might be a slight problem like any other restaurant on Kapahulu is parking.

The food was incredibly fresh, flavorful, and comforting. We tried several dishes and every one of them was delicious. The Oxtail Pho and Steak Tendon Pho were so clean and flavorful that you can actually drink the soup straight from the bowl. The dry egg noodles with seafood and BBQ pork were perfectly seasoned, and the grilled pork and chicken bánh mì had amazing flavor with fresh, crispy bread. We also loved the appetizers -- the fresh spring rolls were light and refreshing, and the crispy egg rolls were perfectly crunchy which I love because one of the ingredients is taro roots. The vermicelli noodles with short ribs and eEgg rolls were another standout dish-I requested to substitute with short ribs with the BBQ pork and the chef was happily accommodated it. The service was warm and welcoming. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting. In fact, we enjoyed it so much that we came back three days in a row during our stay -- that alone says how good the food is! Highly recommend this place if you're looking for authentic and satisfying Vietnamese food in Waikiki.

The service is consistently very friendly with a smile and efficient. The restaurant is small, but very clean and neat. They even serve this filtered water from a fancy machine; there is a poster of an ad of the machine. The food is authentic and super delicious; the pho broth is the best that I have tasted, very clean and no msg (at least I can't tell). We have tried a lot of the menu items throughout the years; our favorites are: - combination pho - rare steak and meatballs pho - oxtails soup/pho - grilled pork chop rice - crispy spring rolls - summer rolls - beef salad (my wife's favorite, she orders it every time) - roasted pork and lemon grass chicken banh mi sandwiches - roasted pork and spring roll vermicelli bowl - the special combo wrap (very tasty but you have to wrap it yourself; some may think it is fun, but I am lazy and prefer to have it made and ready to eat) The prices are very reasonable, they haven't raised the prices much even when the food cost keeps going up. I believe they have some deserts, but we have never tried any, because their portion sizes are generous and we're usually too full to think about deserts. Park is s street parking, but we usually park in the municipal lot across the street. The rate is very reasonable, a couple dollars for a couple of hours. It is credit card only; there is no parking attendant, you pay using the paid machines in the middle of the lot or at the gates. I hope you will give Saigon a try, I think you will love it too.

This dinner-only, late-night joint is appropriately named because they are serving food with Aloha. You can taste the love in every bite! They open from 5 to 12 pm. This is GREAT because we often search for yummy take-out later in the evening, especially on weekends. When the day gets away from you, you don't feel like cooking, and every place is closing the kitchen, Aloha Vietnamese is still serving a full menu of delicious dishes.  We love that! And, we've loved everything we've tried so far. It's a small establishment that specializes in take-out.  They have an extensive selection and I'm especially pleased with their many vegetarian/pescatarian options. So far, we've tried the vegetarian spring rolls which were crispy and very full of fillings and flavor; the shrimp summer rolls were HUGE and served with a peanut sauce; and the tofu pad thai which was cooked perfectly. My husband loves a Vietnamese crab soup or bun rieu.  Their soup is full of large-sized shrimp, tofu, and veggies.  And they include the sauces without you having to ask!  A heaping serving of fresh veggies is included to add to the soup--just like in a sit-down restaurant.  Hubby was very happy and is excited he can get his favorite noodle soup if he has a late-night craving. I adore a vermicelli bowl. This could possibly be the BEST lemongrass tofu vermicelli I've had (and I've had lots!).  They are super generous with the lemongrass and the tofu is flash fried before being sautéed in the fragrant sauce.  Seriously, so ONO!  The noodles were cooked well, not soggy at all.  And, the veggies were very fresh, bright and crispy.  I was delighted with this dish and am very excited I can get my favorite vermicelli bowl when I have a late-night craving. When I say this place is family-run, I mean it.  The owner Quy is so friendly and always greets us warmly.  I think his wife and mom do the cooking.  It's like you pay a visit to friends and pick up food they've cooked in their home kitchen.  We can tell they've made these dishes for their family for years.  And now it feels like we are part of their Ohana as we enjoy their family recipes in the comfort of our home.  Also, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that their servings are very substantial.  We sometimes get the pad thai and split it into a couple lunches for later.  This place would be great to pick potluck dishes or a family dinner, too.  They are located in the complex next to Savers on King Street (Diamond Head side).  Free parking in the lot, and there is also parking on both sides of King Street. Aloha Vietnamese is just really good people serving really great food.  There is really NO good reason to not give them a try and give them some Aloha.

It's brighter and more welcoming while still keeping its neighborhood charm. Solid, comforting Vietnamese food with generous portions and classic flavors done right. The beef pho hits the spot with a clear, aromatic broth that's not too sweet, and generous portions of tender beef. Exactly what you want when you're craving something warm and satisfying. The grilled pork chops had a nice depth of flavor from the fish sauce marinade, though they were a bit overcooked and slightly dry. The shrimp and pork plate, however, was spot on. The shrimp were juicy with a nice snap, and the pork was thinly sliced with good flavor. The beef spring rolls were hearty, with a good meat-to-vermicelli ratio. FYI, they use beef broth in their chicken pho. Service is friendly and efficient from the husband-and-wife owners. I love supporting these types mom-and-pop businesses. This place was just two blocks away, so we braved the November misty rain and consistent wind through the buildings to make it over here. To be fair, this seemed more like a Vietnamese coffee joint and a Banh Mi place... so maybe coming here for pho wasn't our best idea. They had two kinds available that night-- beef and chicken. Since chicken pho is not something I'm willing to try, we both ordered up the dac biet. The broth was bland with a thin and unpleasant veil of grease along the top that congealed quickly on the rim of the bowl. It wasn't hot enough, or maybe the pre-cooked and chilled noodle block they poured it over cooled it off. Meat was chewy and low quality. The sprouts and basil were soggy and wilted. Honestly, it was a get up and leave kind of thing. The whole place was just dingy and didn't feel great. I've eaten at some very modest places in my native San Gabriel Valley in Southern California, so it's not a snobbery thing.
