Was pleasantly surprised by how good this place was since it was a spur of the moment decision to eat here. My friends and I got a variety of things to try and it was all delicious and flavorful, but my absolute favorite was the spicy noodle. My friend got this, as well as the curry, at a level 1 spice but it felt more like a level 3.5. But I still really enjoyed it and I was coveting her entree the whole meal. :D read more

Pretty solid Thai restaurant. Pretty small dining room but the staff was accommodating and made us comfortable. Had the yellow curry with 2 out of 5 spice level. Had some nice mild heat to add to the deep flavor. Sweet and spicy with nice presentation. Pad Thai was average but good if you're craving it. The Half Chicken was great. Thai Village is a longtime eatery near the waterfront with the boardwalk being less than a block to the west. It's a small establishment with about six booths along the walls and a few tables in the middle of the dining area. Only one party was dining in at the time when I arrived to place a takeout order. Parking was all curbside in this part of PB, however it wasn't an issue on this particular weeknight. The two-sided menu was on display at a table next to the hostess stand. I went with one of my standby noodle dishes from the six that were listed. Shrimp Pad Thai with level two out of five spiciness was what I ordered. Thin rice noodles, egg, scallion, and bean sprouts were stir fried with a house sauce topped with ground peanuts. The size of the shrimp was good, but I did find the serving size to be modest for the nearly $18 price tag. The kitchen did prepare the noodles at a lightning pace though as my wait was no more than five minutes. read more

Probably the best Tom Kai soup I've ever had. Been here twice now and it's consistently great! Ordered the Pad Thai the 1st time with the soup and it was good but definitely not the best Pad Thai I've had. But it was good. Second visit, last night, I ordered the wide noodle dish with the beef and vegetables. It was fabulous! Really thought the beef was tender and delicious. Will definitely return. read more

This place was the perfect spot for me and my friend on a cold weekday. We had the Tom yum soup with green curry that nursed us back to heath. We were feelin a bit sniffly after a cold day at the beach. (I always ask for extra ginger in Tom yum soup when I'm feelin a little under the weather). I was a bit skeptical at first of a Thai place in pacific beach because usually all the good Asian food is more inland in places like Convoy and El Cajon. However, Thai village has proved me wrong and actually to my surprise, it was one of the best Thai I have had in a while! We ordered the Thai tea, Panang curry and Khao so gai. Both curries were excellent! I would say the spice level wasn't too bad either. Thai village feels cozy with less than 10 tables total and on a Saturday night it wasn't packed at all. They advertised buy one get one free but only sent one order of pad Thai. It was overpriced to begin with and the portion was very small in comparison to other Thai restaurants. Their mango sticky rice tasted a bit old and the portion was very small. My experience here was very poor and I would not recommend it. read more

A solid little restaurant in PB. Our group of 7 surprised them as a walk-in and they were quickly able to accommodate us by pushing a few tables together. It was not a night to be sitting outside so space was at a premium indoors, maybe 30 seats max. One guy was waiting on all the tables and he definitely was hustling! It's your standard Thai fare, I didn't see anything out of the ordinary. A couple of us ordered appetizers which came out blazing fast, just like our entrees. All of us enjoyed the food - I may have added too much spice to mine towards the end, but regardless, delicious. Fair warning- they do charge a large-group %. Stepped into this place for dinner after we heard people on the street proclaim how delicious their meal was! The restaurant was quiet, and we were able to choose our own seat and be greeted right away with waters. The waiter was very helpful in walking us through the menu and letting us know what was popular. Based on her recommendation we ordered the half chicken and the green curry, which came to us after only about 10 minutes of waiting. The green curry was delicious, I ordered it at a spicy level 4 out of 10, which in my experience at Thai restaurants does have a strong level of heat for my taste buds, but here I found it a little too mild for my liking. The half chicken also had great flavor, but was more sweet than spicy. The half chicken was also very bony. Overall, we did enjoy our experience and will likely be returning, however, we will skip out on the half chicken and order our dishes more spicy. read more

This place is my go-to. The way they make their spicy basil noodles/drunken noodles is my favorite way, their curries are always good, and the pad thai is good. The chicken can be dry and overdone sometimes but the food is good overall. And the menu has customizable options, which is important to me. I do really wish that they would keep the food hot while it's waiting to be picked up rather than just sitting (wrapped and bagged but out) on a table or on a cart, nowhere near a heating source (or cooling source either one), and I *really* wish that they didn't have corn in their potstickers. But otherwise it's a good place, better than others. I'm glad this place is there. read more

This was our first time at Thai Village and I'm so glad we found it. I was craving fresh rolls and Thai Village popped up as a suggestion - first impression was it's in a busy location but the second you walk in you're in another place. It has such a nice, authentic feeling to it. It was peaceful, a nice break from the sun, and the service was immediately attentive. We could have spent a whole afternoon here. We received great recommendations and will be back to try the other items we couldn't get to. Highly recommend the fresh rolls (exactly what I was looking for) and avocado curry - I LOVE curry, but this had an extra feeling to it, like having it at someone's house. We will be back! read more

This is a San Diego staple for me. Not only does it have a great location (on the beach) but the Thai food is consistently excellent. In particular, I recommend the crab fried rice, avocado curry (chicken), garlic chicken at level 2 spicy, pad thai with roasted duck. The best thing we tried was the yellow curry with the roasted duck, that was amazing! You can tailor the spice level (0-10) and they explained they're based on the American palate so a 10 won't be as spicy as you might expect. The drinks, like the Thai Tea, can be made with coconut milk and you can adjust the sweetness level on that too. The ambiance is super casual, this is a hole in the wall with good food. They have dine-in, take-out, and delivery options. The service is good, the servers can provide good recommendations! Some of the Best Service I've ever had and I heard a similar remark from another table! I love the murals to look at in here. I had the avocado curry years ago and remembered it all this time. Having a warm avocado to bite into is delicious! I must say though the no spice wasn't working for me today even with the lady's and the kitchens help. She even said if I needed more help just ask and I requested more coconut milk to go as we all know it can get spicier when it sits. I really appreciate it and loved the ginger tea!
