Wow. This place is just Amazing, something you would expect to see in downtown Portland. The atmosphere of the place is impeccable. There are fresh cut flowers at every table. It's gorgeous! Now the food. It is something I would be willing to pay twice as much for what they are asking. I ordered the garlic duck with crispy skin and it was one of the best things I have ever tasted at a Thai restaurant. The plate was huge and came with a bowl of delicious rice and a pretty vegetable flower garnish. My hubby had the BBQ half chicken and it was delicious. Would order either one again. Stopped by this place on my way home from Portland and absolutely loved it. They were pretty busy for a small dining restaurant when I came in but were able to quickly sit me down. The service was very quick and the food was amazing! I ordered the chicken pad Thai 3 star (spiciness) and Thai iced tea! They give large portions for such an unbeatable price! I was even able to take some in a to go box because I couldn't finish it all. I think my totally came up to be around $13 for everything! I usually order 3 star when I get Thai food but this one was just a little too spicy. I would order one star down from what you usually get. Not sure what all the hype is about! I did not get good vibes from the moment I walked in. Shire it was an off hour around 3 pm, but still. I ordered pumpkin curry, and it was typical curry, and not on the flavorful side. I was definitely disappointed. Service was fine, but nothing special. It was more of a blah experience. My brow was wet and my nose was dripping; in other words: perfect!!! Anyways, was on my way home to Seattle from Beaverton and met up with him (because why not, how can a 5 star place be bad?). This place went beyond my expectations! Like WAY BEYOND. There is so much flavor and spice. I ordered the Pad Kee Mao, fiance ordered tom yum noodle soup, and friend ordered pad thai. THEY WERE ALL DELICIOUS. You really can't go wrong with anything here. Friend also recommended the Red Curry for next time! NOTE: the spice level here is 2x as what you usually expect at a Thai place. 3 stars is perfect amount of spice for me, but it tasted almost like a 4.5. I was dying. This is our second time at Thai Wok Kitchen and it was just as delicious as we remember. The service was great and the food was very filling. We ordered the Fisherman in Love and the well-known Crispy Garlic Duck. The plating of the dishes from this place is well done and makes the food look and taste even more flavorful and savory. The Fisherman in Love had noodles inside the bowl and a strong coconut curry taste. There was more sauce than noodles but it was great for leftovers over rice! The Crispy Garlic Duck was absolutely amazing. It exceeded what I had expected and the bar was very high after reading a few reviews. It was very rich in flavor and the broccoli and cabbage was a perfect addition. The Duck was to die for! We had just came back from a seven mile hike and was starving. The portions were perfect and we still had leftovers! They have more workers on the weekend than they did on the weekday. The last time we came there was only two servers but this time there was four! The entire staff was very friendly and there were more customers as well. We still got seated very quickly and our orders were taken. They were still attentive to our table even though there were others in the restaurant. Cups always filled with ice cold water and coming by just to ask how things were and if we needed anything else. In summation, I would defiantly come back to this cute little restaurant. This is from now on our go-to Thai place in Vancouver. We noticed that the special lunch time value menu is only done on the weekdays. If you're going on the weekend or any other time I highly recommend getting a dish that isn't found on the dark red menu found in the photos. When I called the restaurant inquiring as to what happened, i was asked if I could come and pick up the second item. I explained I was at work, and that asked that they take it off my bill. I've been coming to Thai Wok for some time now, off an on. Honestly it's my favorite place in town to eat Thai at. But 2 nights ago I think I hit an amazing snag with the amazing team they have working there. First they threw in free spring rolls as I waiting for my to go order I asked them if they had yet been shut down from serving people in house. They let me know they had not been told as of that moment. I went on to vent about moving into a new place and how you always need to buy the essentials and how it had been tough on us. One of the gals opens up a grocery bag and tries to hand me two rolls of TP. I was blown away by the kindness on top of already amazing service and food.
