You haven't had a real resort-grade facial until you've been to LekSpa. First off, it was conveniently located. After having worked in midtown Manhattan for so many years, it's nice to find a midtown spot that is not pushy, tacky, or rushes the treatment (I detest when the spa does that). I can sneak into here during my lunch hour. I'm a spa junkie and have been to Bliss, Ritz-Carlton, etc. But this facial was truly different from the rest of the pack because not only did I come out with glowing skin but my entire body felt rejuvenated. The treatment incorporates lymphatic massage and soft touches to my shoulders, hands, and head. She incorporates touch, scents, and soothing music into the experience. I'm definitely hooked. This place is very simple in its environment but the treatment is really first-class. I felt like I was in Bora Bora all over again. read more

I had a Living Social deal for a 50 minute organic facial and 30 minute upper body massage. This spa is not your traditional day spa, you have to go through the fitness center at the Sheraton to access the treatment rooms. Their really is no spa waiting area but that's okay, the staff is really friendly and very nice. I arrived 20 minutes early, the lady that was going to do the treatments was available so we started early. I was led to a treatment room and the masseuse mentioned we would start with the massage first. She asked what kind of pressure I liked, but at first her pressure was too soft and it was tickling me so she applied stronger pressure. She did a great job with the massage, with continuous strokes and pressure. She then moved on to the facial. I was happy I didn't have to move to another room since I was enjoy a nice nap. The facial was not like any facial I've ever had before; she cleansed and scrubbed but steamed for less than a minute and there were no extractions. I did enjoy the facial, but I honestly would not pay $140 for it. Overall, I had a good experience but I doubt I would go back unless I had a deal. I think this is a no frills type of spa and the prices are too high for what it has to offer. There are too many other spas in the city that offer similar services for cheaper prices. read more

Very relaxing & intimate! You have to enter LekSpa through the hotel gym, but don't let the first impression fool you. The ladies at LekSpa treated me so well and I left feeling so relaxed and pampered! I had a LivingSocial deal for a 50-min. organic facial, but ended up getting a complimentary 30-min. massage by mistake. I was puzzled to why I was being escorted into the massage room, but just went with the flow and didn't know it was a mistake on their part until the end of my entire session. Of course, because it was an error on their part, they didn't push me to pay for the massage. The massage was on point. The masseuse was very gentle yet her hands were really strong. She asked me if the pressure was okay, which was appreciated. The facial was just okay. It was nice for the esthetician to switch some of the products she was originally going to use, but the experience wasn't "oh wow, I'm glowing and feel amazing". At least I didn't break out afterwards, so I know the products are legit. I would definitely return to LekSpa if I wasn't a full-time grad student = poor. Not relaxing at all, and definitely not worth the money ($60 with a voucher, $9 in taxes, $10 in tips= $79 total). I will never go there again. I have been here twice, both times for a massage w an organic facial. The first time I had a massage by a man, and then a woman did my facial, it was very relaxing i fell asleep during the massage, then fell asleep during the facial and woke up with a super smooth face. The second time a woman did both the massage and the facial, I believe it was Gina.. but im not 100% either way it was really good. I love their massage therapists, I tend to have really sore muscles from working out and having bad posture and they really get all the kinks out. I agree with the other comments, the place is tricky to find. Its inside the Sheraton, downstairs inside the fitness center. I had the thai/swedish massage combo with Tika & back facial with Gina. Here is my feedback: 1. This is not a traditional SPA with lounges, luxuries, etc. Its a nice place to receive resonably priced body treatments. 2. Back facial was a pleasant experience. Gina performs a great cleaning with a 5 minute back massage. 3. Do NOT make the mistake of getting the COMBO. Choose one massage rather than having them combine services. The facial was very nice, especially the facial massage and scalp massage. The main skin care technician, Lek, seemed knowledgeable and worked my skin well. After the facial my skin wasn't blotchy and was very smooth. A few words to the wise: 1) The facial did not include extraction or enzyme peel, which was an additional $25. Most facials I have had included extraction, so I found this to be a little odd. 2) The business is located in the fitness club of the Sheraton hotel at this time, though the business owner is hoping to expand soon (they have only been in business for a year). Disappointing customer service - would not go back Admittedly there is always a level of uncertainty when using a Living Social voucher to purchase a good as to whether your custom will be treated at par with that of a full-price paying customer. It seems, in this case, the answer is a definite no. Despite receiving a confirmation email the day immediately prior to the couples' massage I had booked at Lekspa, when I arrived at the venue (which, make no mistake, is a Gym, not a Spa) 20mins early as requested, there was nobody there. 30mins of waiting and a masseuse, or indeed any Lekspa employee, failed to arrive, and the Lekspa 'help-line' was not being picked up (despite calling continuously between 5:30pm-6pm, well within Lekspa's business hours of 10-8pm). The Gym receptionist knew less than I did about the spa, and was unable to offer any advice or service beyond ringing the very same number I found on Lekspa's website. Upon emailing Lekspa, I was offered a complimentary 30mins extra on top of the 60mins I had booked, when rebooking my appointment to account for the inconvenience. Of course, I was unable to take advantage of this given, despite 2 weeks of back and forth, we were unable to reschedule the appointment. Now you can make your own mind up about how much of this was Lekspa's fault - but for a service that retails at $240 pre-tip or tax, I had expected much better customer service. As a side note - this is not the luxury spa that Lekspa's snazzy website makes it out to be, it is a corridor off of a Fitness Centre in an outdated hotel; unless Lekspa has a direct wormhole to Bangkok, their website's claim that Lekspa is 'the best Thai massage in New York' is seriously doubtful. read more

Things started off rocky, as my appointment turned out to be 3 hours later. I must say I was quite peeved. However, once the therapist started my facial it all went away. She was trained in London. Esthetician training is much more extensive their than in the states. I quickly relaxed and even let her do extractions. I usually forgo extractions and do them myself. It is a little strange that the facilities seem like they have basically just a couple of leased out rooms in the Sheraton fitness center. The massage was pretty good; it would have been nice if it was full-body as opposed to just neck, back, and arms, but that's okay. I did find it kind of weird to be at a massage and leave my jeans on. The pressure was great; I told her I was fine with a lot of pressure and she definitely did not relent on me. This was my first facial so I cannot attest to how it was in comparison to other places, but I did enjoy it. The products all had a fruity scent and my skin felt nice, clean, and soft afterwards. In fact, I even fell asleep during the facial because it was so relaxing. The listed prices online for the spa are pretty darn expensive so I don't know if I would come here without a deal, but I did enjoy my experience. read more

I returned for another massage + organic facial with Tika. It was pure heaven. Since I sit in front of a computer all day, my neck and shoulder is ALWAYS tight. Tika worked on those areas and I felt a big difference. Thai massage is the best. Tika did clean out my blackheads this time (she said she was doing it as a favor to me). :) She offered a add on - collagen mask for only $30. I know they usually cost a LOT more so I said yes. I love the results. I would have given them 5 stars if not for the bathroom situation. Since they are located inside a gym, their clients uses the bathroom of the gym. It is very small and the floor is always wet (from people taking shower and walking to their lockers etc). The bathroom need to be monitored and be kept in better shape. It is okay and it's what you expect for a gym. But for the spa, it's minus one star. read more

The spa is located inside of the Sheraton hotel - in the lower level, you take the elevator down to LL and go to the gym. There's only one bathroom in the gym for the ladies - fyi. I didn't get any extractions during the facial. I did get a mask that was itchy, but that is because my skin is dehydrated and dry. Afterwards, my skin was nice and smoother. This is the only place where I never had problems like skin irritations. The fire alarm with bright blinking lights went off 5 separate times during my facial, someone walked in, in the middle of my facial to whisper something to the person doing the facial, and loud thuds could be heard coming from the ceiling. All the noise and commotion took away from being able to relax and enjoy the facial. Like another reviewer said, it's definitely something I could do at home. The scent of the products used were really good, the first product smelled, like lemon & sage, the next (scrub) smelled like puréed kix (the cereal), and the mask smelled like matcha green tea. Most of the products were brushed on for careful application. My appt began about 10 mins later but ended at the time it was designated to end, no extra time. I would not come back, I should have been offered a do-over facial at another time, since there was a lot of noise and I could not relax. I recently went here for a Detox Facial with Extraction that I purchased through Gilt City. The aesthetician (she never told me her name) was friendly enough but I feel like she spend more than half of the facial out of the room while I was getting steamed or letting a mask soak in. She didn't tell me any of the products she was putting on or really ask about what I currently use on my skin. My skin felt ok afterward but wasn't really any smoother or cleaner than when I came in. I have been going to Lek for facials for over two years, and she does not disappoint. Always courteous and professional, Lek is a consummate esthetician. I've had to apologize to her on a number of occasions for completely falling asleep during a facial. Her organic facial can honestly be more relaxing than getting a good one hour massage. Her extractions technique is fairly gentle yet thorough, and my skin, which is very oily and acne prone, is always glowing for days after the treatment. While I stand by my previous review in which I mentioned that the location of the spa being in the fitness center is not a big deal, I need to now mention that the fitness employees are a separate but nonetheless important issue. I have found them to be rude and invading during my visits. Everyone who works for LekSpa has been wonderful. I would suggest they find another location or have a conversation about professionalism with the fitness employees. I had a LivingSocial deal at LekSpa for a 30 minute massage and 50 minute organic facial. I also bought one for my daughter. I booked two appointments and they managed to accommodate us both at the same time. The treatment room was very clean with fresh sheets although the room was a bit small for two people. Unfortunately we were a little late due to traffic but were greeted very pleasantly and our treatment was not hurried. The massage was good and we were asked how much pressure we would like and if we had any specific areas of our back that required extra attention. The pressure was great, both of us asked for firm and were not disappointed. Personally, I preferred the facial and was very pleased when comparing it to previous facials. The products had a pleasant scent and my skin felt clean and soft afterwards. Both therapists treated us very well and we left feeling very relaxed. I have had a facial at this spa 3 times and even had my mother come in for a facial and I absolutely love this spa. First of all Lek is very professional and very nice. I read the other reviews on yelp and cannot believe the negative things that were said, Lek would work out whatever issue you might have with the service or overall experience, so if you weren't happy I am sure she would make it up. Second of all she is very accommodating I wanted a facial last minute because of my birthday and she did her best and squeezed me in. I really don't have many skin issues I get facials mainly to have extraction done and get my pores cleaned out & she does a great job. A micro message is included in the facial and she is absolutely talented at massaging. I ended up trying out Lekspa through a groupon and let me tell y ou... It was awful and not as good as what's expected. I went there for a facial that does not include extractions ( BTW). I was told I would have to buy more time for that. I thought it was going to be lush spa experience, which is what I'm used to, and it was everything but that. The bathroom was in a separate part of the room where I was getting the facial, so I had to leave the room to go into a bathroom that was more like a locker room. It had hair in the sink and very dirty. It was a huge turn off from my spa experience that I had yet to experience. The room I was in was super small and very cold. The woman who did my facial could barely speak English so explaining my skin type proved to be difficult because she would just smile and I nod her head in agreement. The facial was more like a massage. She put about four different products on my face and in the meantime, gave me an upper body massage, which seemed to be her expertise. She massaged my arms upper back and chest which I found weird because it was a facial. All in all, I would not recommend this place to anyone because it is not a Authentic spa experience. You will leave feeling underwhelmed. I also didn't like that my appointment started 5 minutes late, but ended the scheduled time which wasn't fair. I used a Gilt voucher for a custom facial. It was heavenly! I read the reviews so I knew to expect to use a gym bathroom and not to expect too many bells and whistles but I was blown away. I am not actually sure of my estheticians name but she was incredible. The room was relaxing and clean (most importantly). The products she used were all organic and basically fragrance free (also very important to me). I wish that she had explained some of the treatments she was using during the facial but she was happy to tell me after the facial. My skin was super dry and she threw in a complimentary hydration mask (I think...). The scalp massage was the perfect ending to my facial. My skin glowed and is still glowing the day after (and I didn't even breakout). I would definitely go back- the $50 gift certificate they gave me upon leaving may also have something to do with that :) read more

I stumbled upon Lek Spa and Lek was gracious enough to schedule us back to back as a birthday present to my mom. I had the Hot Stone Massage and my mom had a facial.
