I've been coming to this spa for 12 years. I've had the best massages from deep tissue to hot stones, couples massage, and I've never been disappointed with the service. Upon entry you check in, they give you slippers, you change into your robe and then depending on your package you either wait in the zen area with tea or water, or go straight into your massage. It's a wonderful place to celebrate, reset, or just treat yourself because you're worth it. It's always clean, the staff is pleasant, and Linda is my favorite masseuse. But everyone is wonderful! I was gifted a Groupon for Eden Day Spa and received a massage and hot stone reflexology treatment. The latter was nice and relaxing, but the massage itself was so intense that it was a bit difficult to make it through. I'm someone who usually can't ask for hard enough pressure, but it was at times truly painful, and I even had some bruises the following day. That said, I did feel like the massage made me feel better and helped with some difficult knots, so I can't say it wasn't effective. The lack of cleanliness in the locker room was also a miss for me. When I showered after my massage, I was kind of grossed out to find that the shower didn't drain properly, and in just a couple of minutes it had filled a few inches with water that had a bunch of hair in it from previous users. Although I thought the facility was nice and peaceful overall, I don't think that I would return. read more

I came in with bad lower back pain & really needed relief. Thankfully, the masseuse was great - she did an excellent job & really helped. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience was disappointing. The place is outdated, & the staff wouldn't stop trying to upsell me, which made it hard to relax. Things got worse when it came time to pay. My 60-minute massage was $150, & they added 30 minutes of cupping at $3 per minute - so an extra $90 (which I agreed to).. That should've totaled $240. I asked to add a 20% tip ($48), bringing it to $288. But my credit card receipt showed $301.93. It's only a $13.93 difference, but it's the principle - they charged me more than I authorized. If they're doing this to every customer, that adds up to a lot of money they're taking without permission. Even worse, the receipt showed a $0 tip - even though we calculated the 20% tip ($48). I have the receipt to prove it. I originally wanted to Venmo the tip directly to the masseuse, but they told me she didn't have an account & apparently none of them do. They asked me to Venmo a generic store account instead, saying they'd distribute the tips. That didn't sit right with me, so I added the tip to my card hoping it would go to her. But now, I'm not so sure the staff actually get their tips. Between the constant upselling & shady billing practices, I left feeling frustrated & taken advantage of. I've been to this spa twice using Groupon. And it's not bad at all. I went to a Korean Spa in NJ and it changed my life. I didn't even get a massage; just used the saunas and I came out a new being. I would recommend and go here since it's in the city. It's clean, organized and can be relaxing when it's not crowded. Go on a week day before lunch or early Saturday morning for the best service. I feel like it can be a tab bit overpriced. Just a sprinkle. Like the Groupon deal has a facial BUT it doesn't include extraction or scrub which is the main reason I get a facial so I always pay $40-60 more on top of the Groupon not including mandatory 10 or 15 percent tip. I've been to Eden Med Spa a few times. It's consistent, clean and enjoyable. I always use their Groupon which offers a nice savings for their massages, scrubs and facials. Booking an appointment is also easy. I've never had an issue adding a next day appointment. When I arrived, I was quickly checked in, given slippers and a locker key. They have a shower and sauna for you to use pre/ post your service. You wait in a serene waiting area with others with bamboo plants, dim lighting and spa music. I admit it can be a little noisy if there are large groups also waiting but it's still nice for the cost. The massages and scrubs are great! Some scrubs include a soak in a tub with rose petals. The masseurs are great and listen to your needs. They offer upgrades but are not pushy. Tip and tax is added to Groupons but is not kept hidden. They are upfront about it. Wow! My friend got the 80 min massage with a foot mask from groupon, but she couldn't make it and gifted it to me. When I entered, I checked in and exchanged my shoes for slippers. They ask you if you prefer a female or male masseuse. After, I walked into a lounge area filled with lavender aroma and waterfall music. If you walk further in, you see massage rooms, restroom, and locker rooms. I received a key bracelet with a number on it for a locker. I changed into a robe. My masseuse Lisa was ready for me. I went into the room and laid underneath the sheets. She is amazing!!! Wow!!! She asked me if I had any problems and of course I mentioned my shoulders & neck since I have been working nonstop front of the computer. I highly recommend Lisa! She got my knots in my shoulders consistently. Pressure points are on point!!! I would rate her strength 5/5. I have to say the 80 min whole body massage is such a wonderful deal. The massage involved bare hands, oil, hot towel, hot scrubbing/rubbing tool, and hot stones. At the end of it she offered me water/coffee. They also have a sauna room and a shower room. The location is right off the N/R/W stop on Canal St/Broadway. Convenient for sure! You don't tip your masseuse directly when you check-out. Gonna kick this review off with saying - this experience is NOT for everyone. I highly advise not coming if you're sensitive, because these massages can get quite aggressive. Also it really helps if you or someone you bring can speak Chinese (sadly I don't but the two times I went, my friend and partner could and it took their experience a long way). Went twice: First for just a massage with a friend via Groupon and second time for the couples massage with my partner. I would recommend just getting the single massages from Groupon for ~$109. The couples massage was about the same with the exception of a foot bath, champagne, and little Ferrero Rochers for a bit more. Also you would be in the couples room and getting massages at the same time. The massage itself I believe is a similar experience. First time with a friend, I had Helen and my friend had Candy. I enjoyed the experience so much, the second time I asked for the same two but let my partner have Helen and then I tried Candy's massage. Both were excellent but my personal preference was having Helen as my masseuse. I'm not sure if there are others that are better, but I think the chiropractic touches seem to be the standard and I felt that Helen can quite literally- gently crack at some of my joints more effectively. Candy, however, was very observant! If you're looking to be analyzed and see if there's a targeted area that needs attention to, I think opt for Candy. My friend and I both noticed that Candy pointed out potential problem areas (ie, migraines and chest congestion) that I'm actually following up on and am grateful she mentioned it to me! Another thought to add, I think the facility itself needs an upgrade- furniture and space seem on the older side. I got the Groupon to enjoy the 80-minute essential massage and foot mask with the meal after during my stay in NYC. Love that I got a quick tour of the place before getting ready for my spa treatment. It was great that they were able to get me started early before my appointment. This place is very well maintained. After changing into the robe, I helped myself with some peanuts and water and sat in the lounge, facing the calming water fountain which was in the center of the room. There was a table of crackers and peanuts for the guests to eat while waiting. Stephanie called me and ushered me into one of the rooms. It was 80 minutes of pure relaxation and bliss. Great pressure at the start then more swedish, sweeping motions with the oils. Very thorough scalp and head massage while face down and also face up. The foot mask was good since I had been walking a lot. The stretches were good too and much needed. Stephanie melted the tension, aches and pain. All the options for the complimentary food sounded delicious. I opted for the shrimp, chicken and mushroom pasta and it was a plate of yummy goodness! So glad I found this place. Highly recommended! I feel like this place COULD be a FIVE STAR city spa. The massage therapists there are so talented. Their hands magically find knots and work on them--kneading away all the stress and stretching the muscles until you're feeling pure bliss. The service is good. The massage is amazing. But the problem is the facility. It's dingy and smells old, stale. The floors are all smudged and the locker room has chipped doors and scuff marks on the wall. The floors are stained. The curtains on some of the rooms are frayed and have holes in them. If the owners spent $1000 for a fresh paint coat, buff, wax, seal the floors, and added some soothing eucalyptus scents, this place could be A TOP NOTCH SPA!!! The massage therapists are too talented to work in a facility that smells stale and looks old and stained. This is a place that has so much potential--it needs a detailed refresher on the facility side though. A few eucalyptus aromatherapy diffusers throughout the facility would also make the place feel more like a spa. read more

It's a solid spa, with attentive, good service + clean facility and most comes with a free meal. I've been going to Eden for a few years now, although not as often as I should... I've had their essential massage a few times, vichy shower, facial with extractions, pedicure, and calming massage. I thinking depending on who you get (massage therapist); it's a different experience. All my previous encounters have been really good and relaxing, my body usually feels really good the day after. However with a recent visit, my body is extremely sore... perhaps it was her technique? Stronger pressure? Idk... but it left me a bit bruised all over my body, arms & legs... I'm not sure if she really listened to my plea when I said "not very hard pressure please & focus on my lower back". My facial was awesome, the extraction left me feeling fresh, renew and very "clean"... like my face got a scrub that rid me years of tiredness. It felt really good. Had a great visit here today. I booked the "Package 2" under their specials (40 min scrub and 70 min massage) and it was rather relaxing. I arrived a few mins late, but was given sandals and a robe upon entering the locker room. I then changed and underwent the full body scrub. And they scrub ALL of your body (well, just about). After the scrub + Vichy shower, I entered another room where I had a 70 minute full body massage. This is a great quick stop for a decent massage. I checked in and they gave me shoes, then escorted me to the locker room where I was able to place my items. The body scrub was wonderful, I'd just come back from vacation and had been peeling, so this was well needed. Ashley thoroughly took time with my scrub and I loved the vischy shower. Next, was the facial....With my sunburned skin, I added the serum, and my skin felt amazing afterwards... I was worried because I have rosacea, but she made my skin glow. I believe it was Diane. Then the massage was fabulous. I recently had lumbar spine surgery, so she was not able to touch my lower back and made sure to focus on my other areas. I'm reviewing this place as someone who doesn't go to spas or gets massages often. There's a good Groupon deal that is $65 which comes with a 65 minute balancing massage and meal. My friend made the appointment and at first glance, the spa looks small. You change into slippers (not the most comfortable) before you head inside and that's where the magic happens. You walk into a zen of tall plants, sound of waterfall, plenty of cozy recliners and dim lighting that sets the mood for a spa. It's a long hallway of space. The locker room is all the way in the back. I wish they had the combination lockers versus holding onto the key with the wristband. A clean robe was already folded and waiting when we opened our lockers. Once we came outside, someone got us and took us to the massage room which was on another floor. We got lucky with the duo massage room and they got to work quickly. I'm going to guess the balancing massage is a mix of everything. My masseuse Nancy gave me hot stone, head massage, what felt like deep tissue at certain points and some swedish moves too. I enjoyed the head massage and hot stone a lot. The pressure points in my back, which bothers me and during the massage felt quite intense, feels much better after the massage. I didn't get a headache as I have in past massages at another spa. They let you know when you're done and take you back outside to the lounge area. The masseuses took our order for the meal which is either a sandwich or pasta. They also provide a plate of fruit and lemon-infused water. We got the pasta and it wasn't shabby! It came piping hot where you could see the steam rise. Chicken, shrimp, mushroom and assorted vegetables were mixed in the pasta. It's no gourmet pasta but does a pretty good job for a spa. They don't bother you for how long you stay. Boyfriend booked Eden Day Spa on a Saturday afternoon, for some much needed self-care for two. It's a beautiful place-floral, tranquil, aquatic, all of the best spa esthetics. My facial was wonderful. I was placed in a comfortable room and my entire face and neck area was thoroughly scrubbed and steamed. I was even allowed to lay with a mask on and relax for close to a half hour. Then, there was my massage. As far as technique, the massage was very good and could've been great BUT my masseuse was an EXTREMELY chatty woman who's conversation and commentary on certain aspects of my bawdy and my personal life made me feel super annoyed and a bit embarrassed. I wanted to just enjoy my massage but homegirl was going a mile a minute! Next time I'm at Eden I'll make sure to mention at registration that I'm seeking a calm and quiet experience. This is my favorite spa. I love the atmosphere they create with the plants and massage chairs in the middle. The peaceful music combined with the waterfall noises and dim lit room makes it much more relaxing. After you finish with all your services, you get to relax in this area with food, a variety of fruits and a beverage. They give you a few food options to choose from. I personally enjoy the pasta. The services are a bit pricey for regular price. I've paid full price before but I've also been here another two times after with a groupon. 3.5 stars for overall experience. Eden spa is quite zen and relaxing. My friend and I purchased a gilt city promotion that you pick 3 out of the 5 services (facial, back facial, reflexology, hand or a body massage). For a Chinatown spa, I didn't have a high expectation from all my prior ctown ones I went to. But this one was pretty modern and tries to target the non Asian clientele. We arrived early so we can relax and for my friend to pump. The receptionist brought her to an empty room to accommodate. As my friend was pumping, she was interrupted half way by a masseuse and basically got kicked out bc they needed the room. Minus a half a star for that. If you're going to provide a space, please ensure that they will get complete privacy for that short duration. My beautician did a great job on my facials. The only painful part was the extraction. Now my chin is all red :( sigh... the price of beauty. She was gentle in all other things and never left my side. When she put my cold mask on, she worked on my shoulders and neck. Heavenly! After my facials, I was led back to the lounge area to get called for my massage. My masseuse, Jenny, came a few mins later and led me to a small individual room right across from the bathroom. Unfortunately, I heard all the noise and people walking in and out that it was a little hard to relax. Luckily, the soft ocean music drowned out some of the noise and made it bearable. There was a language barrier but Jenny understood that I wanted her to focus on my shoulders which she happily complied. I had to tell her to adjust the pressure at certain times, but overall, pretty good. All my shoulder knots are gone. DO NOT go here if you are expecting a real Professional massage. I booked the Eden massage 90 minutes, was greeted by a lady who never introduced herself and took me to the massage room. No one ever asked me about my medical history or any issues I might be having, she never confirmed which massage I was there for. She then proceeded to do a deep tissue/bone mangling attack in my back and every time I complained she pretended to understand. 30 min in I was telling her I'm not comfortable and she's hurting me, she went to go get the receptionist because she didn't understand English... which is fine in other circumstances but not fine if I'm naked and in pain and trying to communicate! Part of an effective massage is communication. I asked if the "therapists" are even licensed and got a very hesitant yes from the receptionist. That's when I got offered my first glass of water. I wish I could go back in time and not have had that 30 minutes of torture. They tried to give me another therapist but at this point I'm too concerned about the havoc already unleashed on my poor back. I have had hundreds of massages, mostly good at Great Jones Spa and the occasional meh, never have I left a table in this kind of pain. A good deep tissue does hurt, but not like this. Do yourself a favor and take your money and body to a real professional massage therapist, this place will most likely injure you. Or if you want this level of massage I'm sure there are plenty of cheaper places you can have the same torture executed. read more

I got a Valentine's day gift from my husband as The Day Dream package includes all of the following from Eden Spa which includes Eden Signature Massage - 75 minutes Sandy Beach Scrub - 70 minutes Essential Treatment Facial - 60 minutes Spa Manicure & Pedicure - 75 minutes Which cost $430 and my husband paid 25% as a tip. However they do not actually give the services as the time mentioned for massage as well as the body scrub. The Manicure and Pedicure services were extremely horrific and I had UV gel for my Mani & Pedi so they charged an extra $50 for removing them still they didn't remove it perfectly and it looks so ridiculously ugly and they charged an extra $25 for gel toe paints. In Part of the body scrub they had given scalp scrub but after that service I have been experiencing excessive hair fall issue. Also the facial treatment made me have breakouts all over my face. I never ever will recommend anyone to visit this so called "Luxurious Spa" for any reason whatsoever. Sure, it won't be as fancy as Aire, but you can tell they make an effort to make the atmosphere peaceful, calm, and comfortable. The massages are some one of the best I had, with the masseuse being very attentive to my responses, constantly asking to make sure it's the right amount of pressure, no pain, giving heads up when putting on a hot towel, all of that stuff. Super nice staff overall (including front desk), very courteous and welcoming. The post-massage meal is small, but delicious - I got the noodles with chicken, shrimp, and mushrooms, with green tea, water, crackers, peanuts, and fruit on the side.
