The fact that this establishment is in a private condominium building that formally was a church seemed super unique and unassuming. I am a fan of their customer service, flexibility, and professionalism. From the moment I booked my appointment, I felt like they truly had a personalized concierge service to accommodate my needs and schedule. The location is small but cozy, neat, and clean. My friend made us reservations for a one hour massage to treat me for my birthday. Waiting area was slightly chaotic because it's a small space and there were multiple people coming in at that time 3:30pm on a Sunday. There was tea, nuts, hot and cold water, magazines for you to use and leverage before and after your massage. Each guest is supposed to take off their shoes in this waiting area, but not all guests did that, which results in some guests walking around with their outdoor shoes and some who were barefoot. I have a thing about my bare feet touching ground so I didn't particularly enjoy that. The patient intake process consists of three forms to fill out basically to ask you which areas the masseuse should focus on and what methods you enjoy. Light, medium, deep tissue or combo. And whether you wanted elbows, arms, etc used. For the massage itself, it started off with a bit of aromatherapy. I definitely smelled lavender and it was nice + relaxing. The masseuse also acknowledged that I wanted to focus on lower back, so that's good, but noted that it's a full body massage, which is fine. I remember a hot towel being used pretty early in the process and then multiple times during the massage as well so that was nice. I think the pressure could have been harder for me and at times it didn't feel like a massage but light touches and some pressure. I think I would have preferred to go a bit harder but I didn't voice it because the areas where she went hard/pressured are not areas where I want additional pressure. I think the lower back was maybe slightly more focused on but not enough for a noticeable difference to me. The best part was probably when I was facing up tbh. My massage time also ended earlier than my friend and she went in before me. It felt like 10 minutes of waiting, so I'm not sure if my friend got more time or me less. My friend did mention it was for my birthday and the receptionist guy asked when it was and I said in a week and a half, but he didn't give me chocolate covered strawberries like another Yelp user noted. Overall, it's the next day and I feel good. But the actual massage was probably just okay. I wonder if the typical massages I get are instant relief rather than long term relief. Other massages that are much cheaper have given me such good relief in the moment. This massage feels more like gentle touching, poking but it seems to work because the next day I feel good and lower back isn't so pained, but it could also be my CBD gummies. I'm glad I had the experience but I don't think I would come back just given the price and what I received. I would much prefer the more affordable options in Chinatown. read more

Not necessarily a "spa" per se, just a converted office space where you wait to get a massage. I think they must specialize in medical massage because they had some retuning customers cycling in and out when I visited. I read the mixed reviews on here, and it looks like this who had a negative experience were expecting the robe, slippers, sauna, and relaxation rooms, which is totally understandable. For my birthday, I had my heart set on the spa at Caudalie, but online booking was difficult and trying to get in touch with a human from customer service was a nightmare. I then had other massage reservations at a differenr day spa that were cancelled the day before my birthday by the business (they were low on massage therapists) so I frantically called up Ohm hoping to snag 2 spots for a massage in the afternoon. I understood that this would be less of a "spa" experience, and more of a "massage and go." Making an appointment over the phone was easy, and less than 24 hours after booking, we were in the waiting area getting ready for our massages. The area is small and quaint, but we were happily greeted by the manager and our massage therapists. You have to take your shoes off when entering the waiting room. I wish they had given us disposable slippers to walk around instead of having to walk barefoot on the carpet, but that's me being a germaphobe. Tea and water is available in the waiting area too, as well as magazines and cleaning supplies. The massages were good for the price ($169 each), and I was just really happy they made time for us on short notice. We had the option to keep our masks on for the entire duration of the massage which was very comforting. My massage therapist was super clean which was greatly appreciated in our current environment. We had dinner reservations immediately after our appointments, so management let us use their small restroom to get ready and didn't rush us. I was given a small complimentary bag of chocolate-covered cherries since it was my birthday which was very sweet. Overall, not a bad spot for a massage if you're in a rush. From making an appointment with a very pleasant staff, to the greeting upon arrival, the ease with which all was done was delightful. This spa is a hidden jewel in the Gramercy Park area! We came here for a treatment that included a facial and a massage. Upon entering, we were greeted and offered a beverage to enjoy while waiting. They had us fill out some paperwork to explain what were hoping to get out of the experience and to see what type of skin care routine we maintain. During the facial, the esthetician explained how my skin was reacting to the different cleansers and what might be possible causes. She then reviewed my skincare routine to discuss what items were working and which ones were not necessary. I appreciated her honesty and advice, in addition to the fact that she did not try to up-sell anything (my skincare routine is affordable, over-the-counter, low-cost, and she said that those products were very good). During the massage, the masseuse paid close attention to problem areas that I had indicated on my paperwork and created a relaxing environment. She was phenomenal. The women who did the facial was amazing! I was nervous to get the facial bc I'd never had one done before. I can't say enough good things about this place. It is one of my favorite spa places I've ever been to and I'm lucky to say that I have been here twice. If I was rich (ha ha!) I'd be here at least once a month! First time coming was last year for a friend's bachelorette day in the city. We reserved massage and facial appointments for each of us (both types for the bride) and brought some food in to enjoy in the corner by the lounge (with their permission and reservation of course). The ambiance was so relaxing. The calm music, the soothing aromas, the comfortable couches. Everyone loved it, and we got to just have some girl time in between appointments over mimosas, drinks, hot tea and complimentary snacks. This time I went alone with a prenatal package gift from hubby. I immediately put my phone away and just enjoyed some down time to myself before and in between my massage and facial. For the prenatal, I had Rakia (apologies on the misspelling!) As my masseuse. She was AMAZING. Accommodating to what I needed and massages at a perfect amount of pressure. She ended with a belly rub, which comes with the package. After enjoying some juice and snacks in between, Aisa took me in for my facial. I learned so much from her regarding skin regiment and products. She made sure to use prenatal safe products and gave me tips on maintaining hydration the natural way. She would make sure I was okay with the products used and adjusted if I needed, and at the end gave me a couple samples to take home and try. I really love the new spacious layout of Ohm on the new floor and there's more room in the lounge area. One of my friends spotted Alexis Bledel (Gilmore Girls) relaxing at the lounge area when we were there...that's pretty cool! I redeemed my 50% off for 60 minute custom massage which I personally booked Rose because she's really awesome. The custom massage included different techniques such as Swedish, shiatsu, trigger point release, myofascial release and passive stretching. Boy, my body was just tangled in knots of stress. I love how she used heated pillows and hot towels to warm the veins and get it my blood flowing. Man I really, really, really enjoyed my full body massage from head to my toes with Rose!! I will recommend it to anyone because you're getting your money worth here because all the therapists and staff are there to cater to your needs. I've never trusted anyone with my face except for Nora in Denver and now Ohm spa. Amy is one of the two estheticians I trust with my face. She is excellent and so nice. I had the best experience here!!! I want to start off by saying my gift card expired and was so sad thinking I lost more than $300 in a gift. The owners were so kind and they allowed me to use it. I so appreciate them for this!!!! I had been to their original location and fell in love with everything. Yes the relaxation area was AMAZING!!! Their new location is smaller and does not have the same comfy couches, but I was okay with. I met with Kathy, the owner, who explained to me their current dilemma with their previous location and new location. I understood this was temporary and did not mind. I had a facial and appreciated the feedback she gave me on my skin. I did appreciate the products she recommend and happy to have received samples. I also had the best massage. I was first asked what areas were bothersome and then went into an hour of bliss. I had my main two areas focused on (back and calves) and then the remainder of the body. I would definitely go back, without hesitation. I think the warmth the owners provide plus the hard work the staff provide, show they are determined to make this the best experience in their short term setting. Ohm is by far, the best spa I have been to, maybe also because I got a massive spa package. The staff is warm and very attentive to make your experience the best possible. I think they will always leave me with a lingering memory upon my first visit as a young adult, still a teenager. The owner shook hands with TWO HANDS, great gratitude there. Nonetheless, the massage is definitely spot on when you let your massage therapist know the problem areas and how you really like it. It is important to remember to guide them before giving them a hard time about not getting it right. Following the massage was the Manuka Honey facial which really left my face glowing. I am definitely glad I am not allergic to honey because this was definitely something that I recommend for all! I've been to the old location of Ohm Spa and had a wonderful experience so I was excited to book another 60 minute massage with them. Upon booking, I was told they had moved locations. Sounds good to me! Now let me say the massage itself was wonderful. I'm not sure who I had as a therapist but she did a good job. My reason for three stars has to do with the new space they have. Their previous location was, in fact, a spa. Their prices are high to begin with, but because they had the lounge and full spa atmosphere it made it OK (their prices are on par with Red Door, etc). HOWEVER, their new location is nothing more than an office. The entire space was dingy and felt dated and old. There is no spa lounge. No amenities. No front desk check in. I wasn't offered water or tea upon arrival. It is essentially a doctor's office waiting room while you wait to be called into your massage room. That is where you change- there is no locker room or spa robes. There are plenty of wonderful massage places like this across the city and I am a-ok with that. However, the prices are generally lower since you aren't going to a "spa". For this place to move to a office location, get rid of their "spa" amenities and still charge $170+ for a massage is ridiculous. I felt cheated out of the spa experience and I certainly did not feel like I had gone to a spa. My massage came to $210 with tip and that's a lot of money to spend for a 60 min swedish massage, much less one that wasn't at a spa. I left feeling uneasy about my experience. My advice to Ohm? If your plan is to stay at this new location, change your prices to reflect what you are offering. My advice to anyone looking to book here? This is not a spa. You can find equally good massages at similar environments (non-spas) elsewhere in the city and you can go to real spas for about the same price. I will not be back unfortunately. The new space is very clean and in a lovely old rectory. There is gorgeous stained glass on the walls and ceilings as you walk into the building. John greeted me when I arrived and I waited in the front room. I had a great CBD massage with JoJo and a fantastic facial with Amy. I left feeling so relaxed- a feeling I haven't felt in a while. Ohm is a great place for a massage. My husband purchased a scrub and massage as a Mother's Day gift. The lounge area is a bit dark, but overall the decor was clean. I enjoyed my massage and scrub, but it wasn't amazing! After my consultation with my masseur, I felt like she just went through the motions. I was hoping for more of a tailored massage with focus on my shoulders, back and legs. Being a new mom, I hoped to feel refreshed afterwards like I normally do. Ohm is still terrific! I haven't been to this spa in years. I forgot about it when I moved up town. Fortunately for me, the hubby didn't and booked me a massage. The staff at the front desk is lovely. Super friendly and accommodating. They greeted me like an old friend and made mention that I haven't been there in a while and welcomed me back! The locker room is small but super clean. The waiting area is great, with little snacks and drinks. They also have a great assortment of magazines. I did miss the Beta fish they used to have in tanks all around the spa, but I can understand why they gave up on them. The massage itself was terrific. The therapist did exactly as I asked. I've been to ohm spa twice since receiving a gift card for my birthday. The first time I received a 60 minute massage and it was heavenly. The bed was comfortable, the space was clean and cosy, and the therapist was highly skilled. My second time I booked a facial and had an emergency / extenuating situation with my dog 15 minutes before my appt. Kathy and her husband were so supportive and genuinely cared about the stressful situation I found myself in (dog seems okay today, for those wondering). The facial itself was great, I felt very relaxed and my skin is brighter today. I hope to return again soon for another massage. I see there are a few comments on here regarding the physical space of the spa. Sure, it's not an opulent environment with fountains and big lounge chairs. But it's cosy and warm and clean and you feel at ease. Especially with Kathy personally making it her business to greet you and check up on you. Between the service and care, the physical space is a non-factor. So don't let that deter you. I happen to find the unpretentious vibe sincere and refreshing from the usual New York scene. read more

I love love love Ohm Spa, they are really good at keeping the place calm and peaceful. Everyone whispers here (also, no cell phones), there is no anger or urgency (even though they're booked all the time), no pretentious behavior or anything to make you feel unwelcome or uncomfortable. Also, the water and cookies are very yummy - the back door opened for a second and I saw that they bake it themselves. There is also chocolate, fruits, tea, trail mix, etc. I's probably pay just to sit in that room - a complete escape from the busy streets below. I went for a massage, manicure and pedicure and it was the best 3 hours or so I've ever spent at a spa. My shoulders literally felt lower, like they were no longer an inch from my ear (from being tense). A small lady named Angela worked on me for 60 minutes and she was so caring, delicate but also kind of kicked my ass. Every time she told me to inhale a new and wonderful scent just happened to present itself. The only reason I knocked down a star - the manicure/pedicure was.... not good. No shaping of the nails, no soaking cuticles or pushing/cutting them, just a poor job all around. The pedicure was better, mostly cause my feet/legs were massaged and scrubbed so well. But again, the actual nail-tending was not good. But I love this place so much, who cares - go to your regular nail spot to get the mani/pedis, come HERE for the massages, facials, and real lovin that all women need. I have to agree with the negative reviews posted in the past.... THIS IS NOT A SPA. Sure you get massages and facials but no sauna, steam room, lounge. Many of the pictures posted on yelp are probably coming from an old space they had, because the new space does look like a doctor office (a bit nicer though). However, the massage and faciale was really good! But way to expensive if you can't enjoy a SPA experience. Let's start off with the fact that I've been getting facials once a month for over 20 years. A good friend of mine gifted me a gift certificate for Ohm Spa back in 2018 & I never used it, because I am extremely loyal to the spa I've been going to for 10 years, but unfortunately they closed to move to LA so I finally made an appt to use the GC this week. Due to holiday traffic I was running a few minutes late, I called to let them know and they said it's fine. I understand the importance of being on time so it doesn't have a domino effect, but I also understand the importance of customer experience. First impression is priceless, and mine was more shocking than WOW'd, this spa is inside a church... you walk into a maze of lightly dimmed hallways to get to this tiny little old covenant that's being used to run a spa, I was greeted than asked to fill out a bunch of paperwork, most of which is useless information. Then I went into the room where one hour of my time was wasted... and below I will break it down. 1. The esthetician did not fully or clearly explain the different facials & their benefits. She just said well you have a card for $150, so you can get X facial for $20 more or X facial for $40 more. 1st of all I did not ask any questions about pricing. I asked about the different facials so I could determine which would be best for my needs. She said the deep pore cleanse is the most popular and that it will leave my skin feeling clean, fresh and hydrated. I trusted her since I get a deep cleanse every month and those are the benefits. 2. She had on thick plastic gloves that felt TERRIBLE on my skin, apart of getting a facial especial one that you are spending close to $200 is comfort and relaxation. I had neither, I actually even said something about the gloves and how they didn't feel good and she said well it was a busy weekend and a busy day and if she didn't wear gloves her hands would get ruined... meanwhile it felt like she was ruining my skin! If this woman is more concerned about the skin on her hands than the clients experience than she's in the wrong business. 3. I felt as if she was rushing and that gave me anxiety, she even mentioned that we started a few minutes late and that she was back to back busy and couldn't run late for her next client. I asked it she could use a mask and she said yes I'll put one on and keep it on for a few minutes so you can get the experience? GET THE EXPERIENCE??? I'm PAYING for this service. Overall I didn't feel valued as a client, I didn't enjoy my facial, when I left I didn't feel it notice a difference and my skin still feels congested and dry so I am going for another facial tomorrow which is only 2 days later. This spa is a hidden gem. I walked by this place multiple times and never noticed it was in this building. The space is very calming. They have a changing room with lockers which is very convenient. There is also a waiting area before you go into your massage that has some fruits/snacks and water. You fill out a small form where you note any conditions and areas where they should focus. Once you get into the massage itself the room is nice and quiet. We had a couples sports massage which was really good. Afterwards we were both felt very relaxed and everyone whispers which keeps you in a relaxed state. I have been getting facials at OHM Spa with Ludavine since 2021 when I came in with a resurgence of horrible hormonal acne. No matter what I had tried before (chinese herbs, acupuncture, guasha, various facials at other providers, dermatologist prescribed medications: Spirnolactone, Clindamycin, Clear and Brilliant Laser Treatments along with oil reducing treatments at med spas) I could not get my skin clear. I started coming to Ohm Spa after being referred from a good friend and started getting the CBD Facial as well as purchased the accompanying CBD Oil for daily use on my skin. My skin is now perfect. I never thought this would be possible after struggling for so long. It's the combination of the products that they use but also the technique that Ludavine uses and her attention and concern about my skin that has somehow made it better than it has ever been in my entire life. Not to mention the facial massages that Ludavine provides are out of this world and I look forward to them all month! I even find her extractions relaxing instead of painful if you can believe that. This place is Awesome!!!! Went here for a couples 30 minute massage and 30 minute facial for Valentines day. The lounge area has great snacks and teas to relax you while you wait. Once we got in side the facial and massage were amazing, I have very sensitive skin and was worried the facial may give me a rash but I luckily walked out relaxed with my face clear. I was just here this past weekend (on 7/29/17) and had an amazing experience. If you like spas and getting pampered than this is the place for you! I went as part of my bachelorette weekend in the city and wanted to relax and pamper myself. I booked appointments for a group of friends celebrating with me. Originally I booked for a larger number but the staff (Kathy you are great!!!!) accommodated the changes with my reservation. When making all the appointments and checking in I was met with friendly and fast service. I felt welcomed and didn't worry about anything. I had gotten their spa package of a 60-minute signature massage and scrub for my arms and legs and then did a 30-minute express facial. My massage was great I felt so relaxed and comfortable that I had dozed off for a little bit. All of my worries and stress melted away. I enjoyed chatting with my therapist (I forgot her name) while she worked out my tensions and she gave me advice on how to avoid stressing out my shoulders for the future. I loved the scrub afterwards - you can choose a scent (I recommend strawberries and champagne) and my skin was never softer. The downside was there was no shower to rinse off any oils or anything but they offer you warm and slightly wet towels to refresh yourself and feel clean. My facial with Camille was the best. She explained everything she used on me, gave me great recommendations for products and made my skin glow! I can't wait to do a full facial with her and let her work her magic! The spa is a lot larger than it seems but it's a quiet and calm atmosphere. The changing rooms are on the small side but they provide lockers with robes, wraps, and slippers/sandals while you are there to be comfortable. They have 2 lounges with tvs, fruit infused water, comfortable couches and settees, hot water for tea, and bowls of fruit, cookies, and dark chocolate to snack on while waiting for your treatment. I just had a massage at Ohm Spa with Myriam and it was absolutely amazing! Probably one of the best massages I have had in my life. She is such a caring massage therapist, the pressure, the attention all was a 5 star experience. Spa salon is very clean, no shoes inside, very quiet, relaxing atmosphere. Great spa with the personal touch. Friend gave a gift massage here after reading all the great reviews and now I know why. They have a very intimate setting with a nice waiting area filled with all the great treats u could possibly wish for. Think willy wonka dream. And the therapist was great. Ruth was very in tune with my needs. I have the typical issues with knots in my neck and shoulder area which she really worked at to free up that area. And she had a good sense of when to apply pressure and when to ease up. It's not too crazed like I see with some other spas so u feel like u r in a private setting which is nice. And location is great near good shopping and trains! read more
