The dining room is just behind the front counter.

We had a great lunch here yesterday. It was Monday and the place we had intended to go was closed so with a quick Yelp search and awesome ratings we decided to give this spot a go. It's a little hard to get at directly (you need to go to Lakeshore drive then turn at Russell's), but it well worth the extra turns. They appear to do a robust takeout business, but we opted to eat in. There is a tiny bar along the front wall that you can sit at, but there is a decent sized dining room with more than 6 tables just behind the front desk area. Same gal was serving the dining room and handling the take out orders at lunch. She was wonderfully kind and attentive. The food was very yummy and had all of the flavors of Thailand that I was hoping for. We got the papaya salad with medium heat and it was perfect, cool, crisp, sweet, salty, all at the same time, plus perfectly toasted peanuts. YUM!! We got the Pad Thai with chicken and the drunken noodle with beef. The pad Thai noodles were slightly over cooked and the drunken noodles were slightly undercooked. The flavors were perfect though. I'd try them again if we were in the area.

Thai Zaap Express is a great choice for Thai food if you are in the area. The staff is friendly and the ambiance is pleasant enough. I would definitely recommend Thai Zaap Express.

Ordered this place via DoorDash. The food itself was good, the fried rice was tasty. My husband said the red curry was decent. The portions are very small. $10 for mango sticky rice and it was a tiny ball of rice. Same for the side order of just sticky rice $3 and a very small side. I know door dash up charges a little so I can't be too upset. If I tried again, I'd just dine in. It wasn't worth the $93 I paid for delivery.

We ordered our lunch from this place and it did not disappoint. Everything was delicious. So good I don't have a lot of pics. The dumplings were flavorful and full of meat . The Basil Thai rice was delicious. The chicken satay on a skewer was flavorful and tender. The pad won sen, noodles were delicious. Everything was delicious, will definitely order again.

O...M...G This food is F'ing PHENOMENAL! This is my very first experience and I will definitely return. Just Crazy! I had the Wonton Soup, spicy, the Shumai and the Pad Woon Sen combo with beef and shrimp. I added eggplant and basil, Extra Hot. The Shumai was truly delicious, but the soup and the Pad Woon Sen? Lights out. Please visit this place. I need it to succeed. Absolutely worth it.

Now I love my Thai Zapp!!!!! And you know I had to try this location. It was soooooo yummy. I used Door Dash and tried the take out first. The food was plated perfectly and with the same care as it always is. The flavor was spot on. The sauce was just right. Not too much and not to little for the noodles to be dry. Next time I will go and dine in.

Recently visited after my trip from Thailand because Im still strung out on the food. This food literally tastes like the food I had in Phuket. The staff is SUPER dope, they are very friendly, and Ive had a GREAT conversation with everyone that has serviced me! Its really quiet and calm inside with cool music. I always get the drunken noodles, tea, and maybe a mango sticky rice, fried bananas and coconut ice cream. I will say as someone else did, I expected a bigger portion of rice for the sticky rice but I got distracted because the ice cream was SO good.

    Drunken noodles with Beef

Had an amazing experience at our department lunch today at Thai Zaap Express. There is a cute dining area in the back and the drunken noodles with beef were incredible (10 out of 10). Loved meeting the owner and will definitely be back soon!

I thought we were going to another place when one of my guests suggested Thaihey across the street from the fire station on Decatur. Yes, sure. It's a typical Quarter restaurant with its long gallery seating. We were seated right away. The menu appeared to be heavily vegetarian which was great for my two friends. Many will understand the limited menu options for vegetarians at most places. Wes ordered Tom Kai, Becky the Massaman Jackfruit option and I the one with short rib. It was delicious. It was warm and comforting, full of flavor and the chef made it less spicy for me. What a delight to choose a menu option that I have never had and restaurant that I have never been to. We ate at the sidewalk seating on a glorious evening. Not much more to say. Order at the counter, get a number, find a table, food will be delivered and the table cleared. When we arrived there was a line out the door (maybe 20-25 yards); this line was constant from the time we arrived til we departed. Thai food can sometimes be hit or miss for me, and I'm usually pretty particular about what I order. I don't tend to branch out too much when it comes to Thai food because I already know what I like. But this place definitely impressed me. From the rice dishes to the noodle dishes, everything was seasoned perfectly and packed with flavor. Each bite was delicious, and I really enjoyed how well-balanced all the flavors were. It was the kind of meal where you just keep eating and forget you were supposed to take pictures in the first place! The restaurant itself is spacious and has a really beautiful aesthetic. I loved the combination of the artwork and exposed brick walls. Together, they create this rustic, cozy feel that makes the space feel both stylish and inviting. The ordering process is pretty simple. They give you a menu when you arrive, and then you head up to the register to place your order and pay. The food came out surprisingly quickly, which was definitely a plus because I was hungry! Overall, I really enjoyed my experience here. The food was flavorful, the atmosphere was beautiful, and the service was quick and easy. I'm glad I decided to give this place a try, and I'd definitely come back to enjoy another meal here.
