Very unassuming place in a strip mall on Vanowen and Tampa, next to a See's Candy outlet and a dive bar - this is EXACTLY the sort of place that one searches for in the hopes that the hipsters haven't discovered it and tainted its tacky purity. And, fortunately, they haven't yet, so far. (Hopefully this review will not change that.) Having lived in neighboring Winnetka now for almost three years, it's taken me and my wife nearly that long to finally track down a good (i.e. inexpensive, but high quality in terms of food) Thai restaurant within easy driving distance. Other reviewers mention less-than-stellar service, and I guess if I were dining in I might mention that, too; but I always do takeout, so what do I care? I came in for the first time with my pops. I had the spicy basil chicken and he had the pad Thai from the lunch special menu. Our entrees came with the usual sides, salad and deep fried rolls. My dish was amazing! I had been craving Thai food for some time. My dad wasn't too fond of his noodle dish, but agreed my meal was a 10. So I added the savory sauce on top of his entree and he enjoyed it. It's good to know that most Thai joints I've been to in the valley are more of a hit than miss! read more

Bf and I stopped by here for lunch before we head off to the Topanga mall. We ordered the lunch special, a great deal. I tried the mint leaves chicken and it was tasty. I like it that it has strips of bamboo in it. The place was dead. We were the only ones there, but the owner was attentive and made sure our water was refilled. Wish I was able to give this 0 stars... Went to this place for lunch with my mother, friend and 2 daughters. We were the ONLY people in here and the woman who worked here would not come out and greet us or bring water or ask if we wanted something to drink. Instead, I entertained my 2yr old for five minutes until the lady eventually came out and stood there with a pen and notepad. Did not say a word... Then a minute rolls by and she asks, "you know what you want?" ..... Really? How about some water to start out. This was after she made a big deal about all of us fitting at a 5 person table. Then she went to get us water but actually stood behind the counter washing out a cup. Um ok? It looked dirty inside and the service was horrible, it was literally like she was afraid to come out and help us. I have never experienced anything like this. I wouldn't be surprised if she would have spit in our food after an hour wait I'm sure we would have endured. Needless to say, we drove to reseda and Sherman way and ate at TOP THAI. Seen better Thai places and seen worse. 3 stars will be fair rating for this location. A friend of mine felt like Thai food and we were in Reseda so we got here. Everything here is average. The service, the food, even the prices. It felt clean, so no complains about that. But with just a tinny improvement with the attitude, this place can easily be so much better. read more

I've been here twice and both visits left me unsatisfied. On my most resent visit I figured I'd keep it simple and order orange chicken. I received a diced up chicken breast with a small amount of "orange" sauce on top of a salad, with a cup of rice on the side. I love thai and eat it often... but i Worked in the area, ordered pad see eww with beef and it was bland and flat noodles were all broken to mush. I tried the appetizer chicken dumpling and is wasn't bad.... but the service needs improvement. I was the only customer for about 10 minutes and lady never came to refill water or ask me if all is OK.... sorry to bother you I thought... lot of chit chat in back though....next time I will keep driving.. read more

Okay I don't know what star to give this place. First of all the lady who is waitress is the rudest woman ever. No welcome nothing. It was hot as hell in there no AC. I spilled a little bit of my soda asked her for napkins she grabbed my menu and threw napkins on the table very rudely . No thank yous or welcomes nothing she was rude and we will never go back there . she had this mean shitty look on her face. I'm never going there again. Very poor service, not very welcoming, server very rude. The lady would just stand there and didn't even ask us if we were ready to order, she just stood there waiting for us to say we were ready. And then I noticed that they had a sign that said "no public restrooms available " and then a family of 5 came and the mother asked if she was able to use the restroom there and they said yes, so I guess there is some favoritism there, which is completely unfair, and then I had to ask for a straw for my water and she only brought me one for me self and I was in a group of four that includes my mom and my mom was asking what happen to the rest of the straws. It's obviously a place that is very stingy with their stuff. Not happy never coming back again. I wish I could give no stars. read more

I love this place. I'm constantly surprised that it's usually empty when I go in there. My favorite dish is the Chicken Pad See Ew (flat noodle dish) and sometimes I add shrimp.
