Really great experience with Reinhold the other day. I booked a 2-hour session, and boy was it worth it. I suffered from an exercise-related hip injury for a couple years, managed to fix it at last, but then experienced chronic pain on the opposite side from then on. I figured my other hip had been compensating for the injury this whole time, but I wasn't sure how to get my body realigned without going to a chiropractor. (The risks don't outweigh the rewards for me.) I finally took the plunge and scheduled a session with ThaiMassage. Reinhold was very welcoming and has a calming presence. He treats your body with respect and reminds you to let him know if you're ever uncomfortable. Before your session, he asks about any injuries or conditions to personalize your massage. This was my first experience with this type of massage ("yoga done to you" according to the website), and I'm definitely hooked. This is something I could see myself doing 2-3 (maybe even 4) times per year. Two days later, my hip feels great, and I haven't had to crack my back or hip at all, which is completely abnormal for me. My decision did not disappoint I arrived & he was waiting for me w his patient & calming demeanor. I changed into my tshirt & cozy pants & filled out a short "get to know u" form. The room was tranquil & clean & had a wonderful cocoon feeling to it. I was told to try to stay as rag doll as possible which I remembered from my massages in Thailand. He starts the playlist, I laid down on his comfy memory foam mat & after the first touch I was transported to another part of my awareness. Reinhold gave me the "hands down" best thai massage I've had in the states & I was grateful I had booked 90 minutes .....next time 120! I am from Alabama and came to New York over the weekend for my cousin's birthday. I came down with a severe head cold and body aches from exhaustion. As far as I know, this is a private massage practice. Reinhold is the guy who will massage you, and he does not fit into any thai masseuse archetype that I can think of. Booked a recent session with Eric during a vacation to NY - and sure was glad I did! After sitting in a tiny airplane seat, and several tiny theater seats and dealing with upper back, neck and shoulder tension for 3 days, he worked some magic on me! The experience is VERY different from a table massage and requires more active participation i.e. listening to your body and communicating its needs with your masseur That said, my body has not felt this in balance and free from tensions in quite a long time. read more

I went to Thai Massage earlier this year. it was awful and a waste of money. Lots of it. The massage room was not aesthetically pleasing to the eye. A bit dirty with a blanket on the floor. He shares space with other people who were very loud as my session went on. It was very distracting. I felt no connection with him at any point during the session. It was such a disappointment, and I walked away feeling more sore and anxious than when I arrived. read more

He did a great job of explaining the process and letting me know how I could get the most out of his Thai massage. When we got down to it, he was extremely caring with his movements, and made extra effort to watch out for my lower back (a problem that currently is no longer a problem). This guy is AMAZING! If you have never tried Thai massage you owe it to yourself to get a real expert like Reinhold. He is professional, friendly, and highly talented. I was considering going to a chiropractor for my back before I met him. But he came as a recommendation. At first I was wondering what Thai massage could do differently from regular table massage--but the difference is like NIGHT AND DAY. If you have a stiff back, suffer from any sports injuries, or suffer from chronic pain--Thai Massage from this guy is your BEST bet. I am physically very active, as I do yoga, cardio, and lift weights. I would feel stiff as a piece of steel if not for Reinhold's awesome care. I go to him every week and have sent several friends his way because it makes that much of a difference to my body and how I feel. I had never had a Thai massage before and wanted to try something new. I rarely get a massage; when I do I try to select a really knowledgeable practitioner. I was a little nervous because I wasn't sure what to expect, but Reinhold made me feel completely comfortable.
