Beef red curry - (3/5) - the curry itself didn't have as heavy a pepper flavor that I would have imagined and was more reflective of the beef in the dish itself. Always a good experience at Thaism, I've eaten a few things here my favorites are the Basil Beef and now the Fresh Ginger w/ duck. I usually get a Thai tea with my order but tonight I brought my own drink I bought a Rubuen's Liquor a few blocks away all in all the food and environment is good.....this place is worth the money and time spent. read more

The atmosphere was wonderful, the food was delicious, beautifully decorated, and the price was very cheap. It is a small restaurant so you'll feel really cozy. It would make a good place for like a family dinner. The food was not as spicy as I expected but nothing a little hot sauce couldn't fix. Also the lychee martini was too sweet the first time but once I asked the staff to make it less sweet it was pretty good. Found out earlier this week that our favorite work area Thai spot Kao Soy had closed up. Alex and I were distraught and quickly turned to Grub Hub to find another Thai spot that delivered to us. Came across Thaism and gave them a try and we were pretty happy with what we got. They have a great menu with a really varied lunch menu that will take us a while to get through. All include an appetizer and a choice of soup or salad so you get plenty. I got the Basil Duck. Really nice pieces of duck in a very spicy and tasty sauce with plenty of basil,carrots and onions. It came with a side of rice. For an app I got the dumplings with peanut dipping sauce, two delicately wrapped chicken dumplings with a decent dipping sauce. Alex got the Basil Tilapia which was the same as mine except with Tilapia instead of duck and also loved it. Delivery came in the time it was quoted. read more

Come here 12-4pm weekdays for the lunch special! It's a lovely place to sit and enjoy a meal with friends/colleagues or by yourself. They're also open for dinner, obviously. The lunch starts with soup or salad. They say the soup is vegetarian but to me it tastes like chicken broth, so I'd go with the salad. For an appetizer, the spring roll and fried tofu are both good (they come with sweet chili dipping sauce), but even better are the steamed vegetable dumplings with plum sauce. The curry entree options all have fish sauce, but there are still plenty of good vegetarian choices. I recommend the rama thai, which is basically broccoli, tofu, carrots and green beans sautéed with about a cup of peanut sauce. It's really peanutty! Yum. There are two accessible single stall restrooms in the back, which could both be gender neutral, but they labeled one for men and one for women, which is just annoying. What if you're a woman and there's a woman in the woman room, and the man room is empty? Do you have to wait? Anyway, apart from that, and the lack of vegetarian curries, this is a nice restaurant with friendly employees. Pay cash or card. Enjoy! read more

I just came here to say that we ordered shrimp and tofu pad thai and once halfway through there was a CHICKEN BONE in the middle of it. By now the restaurant is closed and we can't call in, but we put in a complaint with seamless. The bone was completely clean. I can't imagine how it got there. However, after seeing over 7k(!!!!) awesome reviews on Grubhub an other good reviews on Yelp, I decided to risk it all and ordered the Drunken Noodles (Kea Mao) and the Crispy Calamari. Holy crap, after not eating Thai food for more than a year, my order hit the spot. IT WAS SO GOOD. Especially for delivery! The noodles were perfectly seasoned with the right amounts of salty, spicy, and sweet. The vegetables-meat-noodles ratio was also on point. The only regret I have is not ordering from this place sooner!! I'm moving out of the city in a couple of weeks and I will definitely order from them again before I leave. Ok, fine. Ill give up on Thaism. I've been trying to make this relationship work, but Thaism clearly doesn't care a crap tard about me. Last few times I've ordered on seamless, took over an hour for food to arrive. Last night after waiting over an hour, arrived, and they'd replaced my steamed veggie dumplings with fried rolls (which were somehow both dry and soggy). Didnt even tell me they'd taken out the only delicious and non-fried part of my meal. It was all mildly warm and very oily. We're through. Don't call or text me, Thaism. This is one of my favorite Thai spots in Brooklyn! Really close to my house with a phenomenal lunch special of $9.95 during the week, it really can't get better. Whenever I am not in Brooklyn I crave Thaism for days. I usually get the Drunken Noodle with a side of sticky rice. The Drunken Noodles were the perfect amount of spice for me (enough to set my mouth on fire, but not enough to stop me from eating all together). This place was better than expected. I had the mock duck basil fried rice lunch special. Oh, do I love me a lunch special. Appetizer, meal, and soup/salad for $12. I mean it's around $2 more than expected but it's also Cobble Hill. Or maybe I'm just cheap. Yea, all or the above. Food took less than 10 minutes to make. It did what it has to do. I'd come back. I'm writing in the hope that the owner/manager might read this. We live nearby and eat/order from Thaism ALL THE TIME. We like it. Been going here for years. It's consistent, solid Thai, fresh and bright (usually). Hence the four starts. But we ordered tonight (11/6/18) and everything was TERRIBLE. Many of the same dishes we always get... totally unrecognizable. And bad. My guesses: somebody didn't show up? Grease fires in the kitchen? I don't know, but my whole family was all, "Ick. When it comes to Thai food, this place is a great choice. The "Moo Yang" (BBQ marinated pork with tamarind sauce) was an excellent appetizer. The meat was flavorful, tender and not fatty. The tamarind sauce gave it a nice additional kick to the palette. My entree was a a combo shrimp and beef Pad Thai. This was another flavorful dish and served in a generous portion. Love this neighborhood spot! Nothing too fancy and that's great. Clean, fresh food served by really nice people. I order the lunch special at least once a week and they are always consistent and always attentive to my special requests. Had a very nice, quiet dinner here last night with my best friend. It's a lovely neighborhood, with many small places around to have intimate discussions and meals in. I ordered the pineapple pad Thai, which is a favorite of mine at any Thai place I go to. It came out hot and delicious, and we sat at a nice sized table overlooking the Smith Street strip. By candlelight we spoke and ate and had a wonderful time. There was no rush, the waitress came to check on us frequently, and the ice cream! Oh the ice cream was soooo good! Quality of ingredients is inconsistent. Sometimes it's pretty tasty, but last time my massaman had old potatoes- I know this because I rinsed the sauce off and saw they were black. Pad Thai is fine, pad see ew is probably the best bet. We like the mock duck. If you are looking for a healthy option forget it. The "healthy book choy" is drenched in a horrible brown sauce.
