Very limited parking, although if there's space, it's free valet! The greeter seemed dismissive when we said we didn't have reservations, but another greeter stepped in and had us seated right away. The server was average. Drinks were fine and food was good. I got the salmon, and didn't really like the mix of salmon flavor with the berry chutney on top. It just didn't match. My husband really enjoyed his lobster though. We probably won't go back but had a nice experience. read more

This is a cool restaurant right on the main drag in Ogunquit, Maine. Without reservations we had to sit in the bar. They have a great deck out front which is the place to be. The pork chop with fresh apples and mashed potatoes was perfect. My companion had the chicken carbonerra and it was delicious. We shared a bottle of Pinot Noir from Willamette called The Fire which helped with our walk back to our resort. Parking is limited in the area, so walking is recommended. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. A nice dinner choice in a beautiful town. read more

We wound up stopping by 'that place' in Ogunquit on our first night. After a sailing trip and a bottle of chardonnay we couldn't rest without some sort of a seafood dinner, so we settled here, and were very please by the food, service, and ambiance in the upstairs dining area. A classic bowl of steamers and a delicious stuffed haddock (along with another bottle of white wine) made our night. The rest of the weekend, we couldn't help but keep thinking of this place. Asking around, it's definitely known as 'that place' - a spot for tourists to go, have a beer or a glass of wine, middle of the road food and service, etc...owners of the inn we stayed at were surprised we spoke so highly of the food and experience. To make sure it wasn't a wine-related fluke, we went back on our last night (having only had water all day!) and were in heaven again with the food. The chef there makes a lobster carbonara that will make you seriously thinking about moving to Ogunquit. For a couple of foodies like us, 'That Place' is worth coming back to, many times over!! Love this place! Stayed in OGT for one week and went here 3 times! Great service, great ambience and happy hour each day 4-6. Mojitos were amazing (went back the last day just for those) and the nachos were a large portion, even for 4 people. TIP: make reservations ahead of time for the dining room inside. Other seating is available more easily around bar and patio is no reservations. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to a friend and would certainly return! A+ very impressed. read more

Hands down my top 2 places we ate at while in the area. Everything about this restaurant was great. It's family friendly but also intimate enough for date nights. The food was superb, not one bad dish was had including the bread which was warm, chewy and crunchy and came with creamed honey butter mm mm mm. Their outside seating is nicely heated with lamps. They have additional seating for waiting customers on the porch and at the bar. We were seated early and our waiter Kim gave us first class service. It was a bit rough getting a reservation here at first so book in advance if possible. There's valet parking free of charge minus tips and the trolley stops across the street. Lots of places along the strip to hang out at before or after. All in all you want to eat here before you leave the area. P.S. the bathroom was very clean and I love that there's hand scrub invented by fishermen in there. read more

Absolutely delicious food and 5 star service. My sister and I were visiting late September from Rhode Island, (where we are spoiled by abundance of incredible restaurants). That Place exceeded our expectations. Service all around was top notch, very attentive, never felt rushed. Bread delicious, cocktails had good pour. Food....still craving it! large portions. I ordered the Pesto shrimp linguini, pesto cheese sauce incredible, had at least 10 perfectly cooked shrimp. sister had the pork chop, thick, moist. Free valet parking and when valet brought our car ( almost instantly) he had turned heat on because evening had gotten chilly. If we lived closer we would go every week! read more

We have been coming to That Place for years and it never disappoints. Other than cold, stiff drinks and delicious fresh food, we come for the company. We arrive right at 4pm opening to get good seats at the bar. Over the years we have learned the etiquette of the daily patrons and try not to sit in their seats, but even if you do a joke and a pat on the back is all you'll get. We always enjoy a nice chat with Rick and Paige behind the bar and catch up on what we missed over the off season. Food wise, our favorites have consistently been the New England Clam Chowder as a starter, Lobster dinner, the Trio and the Fisherman's Stew. If you're not in the mood for a big meal, try the Turkey Bacon Avocado sandwich or the Haddock sandwich (fried or broiled). Couldn't recommend That Place more! read more

We asked for a 5 or 5:30 reservation, but we could only get 4 p.m. There were plenty of tables empty at 5 and 5:30. That was annoying. it has a very nice outside area, and the valet parking is a plus. They should put the prices on the menu for the cocktails. It has a lively bar scene. read more

Stopped in to this place called "that place" on a late night arrival to Ogunquit, Maine. We were tired and hungry. Found this place (I mean "that place") on Yelp and reviews were good. Yelpers are so on top of such things! Reviews were spot on. Food was good; drinks were good; service too; And everyone was friendly: Staff and patrons! We were hoping for a quiet dinner in the dinning area but it was closed by the time we arrived. We sat at a high-top in the small quaint bar-side of the establishment. It was loud but we were not deterred: had a pleasant dinner, conversation, and an otherwise very enjoyable experience! Our server, Andreea (double 'e' is not a typo) was so nice and hospitable we felt immediately like regulars, as seemed everyone else there was too - and it was crowded. Even the kitchen help was out and about tending to the customers smallest little whims. We had planned to return before our return down-east but time was not leeward and it was quickly swept away. We were surprised to get an early table this past Saturday as Ogunquit was crawling with people! And what a find! Great table at the window overlooking the street, delicious drinks and dinner (escargot! ). The staff was lovely, gracious, welcoming and attentive. Valet parking took the stress and expense out of looking for parking. There is a parking lot across the street if you want to leave your car and walk around after your meal. Disappointed. Saved "That Place" for our last night on our anniversary getaway hoping to end it on a high note. Walked right in and got seated without a wait (however not overly surprised on a Wednesday night in the off season). Ordered a glass of wine and a beer so can't comment on the cocktails. Pork belly appetizer was very flavorful and a nice way to start the meal. My husband ordered the red snapper ($26) and I had the Seafood Trio ($28). My husband thought his meal was just ok. However, my meal was less than satisfactory. The entire dish lacked salt, the fish was over cooked, but worse yet, the shrimp were not cleaned/deveined. When the waitress came to check on our meals I did ask nicely if she wouldn't mind me giving some feedback. She said she would go speak with the chef with regards to my concerns. She soon came back to let me know that there was no manager on duty and nothing she could do to rectify our dissatisfaction. We were both shocked to know that there was no manager available to speak with during peak dinner hours with a full bar area. Also shocked to know that there is no plan in place if something like this happens with no manager staffed. Never had to deal with something like this before...baffled. Wish I took pictures before our plates were cleared. *UPDATE* post response from management. As you know, the dish has three different parts to it. Yes, I ate the 2 scallops at which point your waitress checked in. Then I stopped eating after trying the 2 other parts. I by no means had an "empty plate". Yes, we did ask for a manager. Came here for our anniversary dinner. They weren't taking any more reservations over the phone that day so we came early (5:45) and immediately got a table inside. My family has been coming to Ogunquit regularly since 1995 at various times of the year. In the past few years, we've been busting from 3-5 days every February since my daughter was born. We always knew of a few places that were stand-byes for us and, with two young children, didn't venture far beyond a few great places. This year we decide to take a chance on "That Place...." which we've passed by so many times. Very glad we did so! Excellent menu, very relaxed dining room and vibrant bar. First off, everyone should plan a trip to wonderful Ogunquit, Maine! It's such a charming corner of New England and not too far a drive from Boston. As for the restaurant, such a nice atmosphere in what looks to be a renovated house. Still has that cozy, lived in vibe. Good bar scene and the food is very good. I had the New York steak, very well prepared and the potatoes were a perfect side. My wife ordered the lobster (because it's Maine and there should be a law that one MUST order some lobster) and it was damn near perfect. Let me start off by saying that this place is very nice, clean and an over all great place to eat dinner. The service was great our waitress was very fun and entertaining. Our appetizers can put in about 25 minutes, I got a clam chowder and it had to be one of the best clam chowders I have ever had. My dad got escargot and I tried one of his and it was great!! (and I normally hate escargot) For dinner I got a lobster, I have never had lobster before but everyone always raves about how good lobster is so I figured I would try it. IT WAS AMAZING!! I love lobster now. Overall I'm giving 'That Place in Ogunquit' 5 stars because I do not have a single complaint! read more

The food was above par and our waitress was friendly and helpful. Our experience on the other hand felt very unwelcoming. As soon as we walked in we felt very uncomfortable with how we were treated. The hostess came off as very judgmental to us compared to the rest of the patrons in the restaurant. We felt outcasted by our appearance and demeanor. All eyes were on us constantly and we were seated in a back corner away from everyone when there were plenty of open tables next to other customers. We would definitely come back for the food, but some of the employees need to learn there are different types of people that go to this establishment. read more

This place was phenomenal. My steak was cooked perfectly and was delicious, and they have some of the greatest mashed potatoes I have ever had. There is no kids menu, but they expertly accommodated my daughter with a personalized pepperoni pizza and some french fries. Great staff, great service, great food. Where to begin. I called to make reservations. Was told no reservations could be accepted for the day. We show up. The hostess was very overwhelmed. She definitely needed help. The valet denied us our parking. My husband pulled out and he parked the very next car that pulled in. Ironically our same model car. Waited about 35 mins. Not bad. Sit down- the restaurant itself is very dark. We ask for the lobster special which is a whole lobster. The woman tells us it's sold out. Okay pick something else. No biggie. Over an hour goes by and our food was still not out. We watched parties of 3,4,5 sit and get their food before ours was even out. Then we watch a couple a few tables away from us get served the lobster special. When I asked how they got it, I was told well they called and reserved it. We asked for the manager at that point. Who could care less. And said well "people from here" know they can call and reserve food. In the end nobody tried to fix anything the manager was not interested in anything we had to say. If your are not from the area do not eat here. They obviously prefer locals. We will not be back. read more
