This is a find! Tucked in off of central roads, Blue Bistro is the Beachmere Inn restaurant. We sat at the outside area, overlooking the ocean. Quiet and relaxing ambiance, away from street noise, we had a wonderful lunch experience. Quick and discreet service, and an amazing view! I tried the lobster roll with hot lobster, served with light butter sauce. A lovely toasted brioche filled with fresh lobster meat, accompanied by potato's (I opted for the house potatoes instead of chips) and watermelon wedges. My partner had the avocado sandwich, with the house salad. Overall, this place deserves five stars for its unassuming ambiance and amazing food. If you are staying in Ogunquit or if you are passing by and you are looking for a place to dine, this will not disappoint! read more

A seat looking out over the ocean, good food, nice staff. What more could I ask from a wintertime lunch! It is always a surprise to find a hotel restaurant that has good food, and this was a very pleasant surprise, especially since the prices were good compared to much of Ogunquit. This is a very simple cafe style restaurant, but the views are excellent and service is friendly and prompt. We even returned for dinner. read more

This was the best lunch we've had so far on our trip! I ordered the Caprese sandwich on gluten-free bread and it was absolutely delicious, 10/10. The service was excellent as well. To get to the restaurant, you enter through the front door of the inn and it's located right inside. Serving the public as well. Prices were fair overall, with a mix of casual options and some high-end items. Definitely worth a stop! read more

We recently went on a visit to Maine for the day. We arrived early on a Saturday morning and parked our car in the public lot in the center of town and we started walking towards Perkins Cove looking for a place to eat breakfast. As we were walking we saw a sign for the Blue Bistro and noticed it was located at The Beachmere Resort, we had spent a lovely night at the beautiful Beachmere decades ago when we were first married and we decided we would have breakfast there. The Blue Bistro was actually a little bit of a walk from the main road but it's right on the Marginal walkway. We asked for an outside table as it was a beautiful day. We both had an excellent breakfast with good service. We really enjoyed looking out at the beautiful lawn and flowers and could see the passerby's walking the Marginal. We would stop again when we visit! read more

We had lunch at blue Bistro after our wedding on the Marginal Way. The entire staff went out of their way to celebrate with us and make us feel special. Finding breakfast in Ogunquit can sometimes be a bit of a challenge as dine-in spots fill up quickly (by 9AM, good luck!) and take-out spots are queued up (even with phone-in orders, they are swamped). Blue Bistro is a lot less crowded, being part of the Beachmere Inn, and a bit of a ways off the main road. So head there as an alternative to the crowds, and although you might wonder where this place is (it's part of the main lobby of the Beachmere), once you arrive, try to grab an outdoor table as you get a beautiful view of the water by doing so. Service is very friendly and attentive, although the preparation of the meal was a bit leisurely. But what the heck, you've got gloriously clement weather, a gorgeous view, and a relaxed, peaceful atmosphere in which to sip your coffee and orange juice. Yelp you led me astray!!! This was a very odd experience. A beautiful sunny Saturday in August and there is no one here for lunch! Place was empty. Dining room was hot. Bartenders were in training which I totally get but they were both in training. We had a reservation for lunch but cut our losses after our drink order was a $60 mistake. Yikes! Had breakfast at the Bistro yesterday. It was clear that they were short handed in the Bisrro and in the kitchen as they were having trouble keeping up with everyone. One of the servers was in training so that slowed down the experienced server. Seating was both inside and out which complicated things even more with two servers. Finally someone whom I'm going to assume was the manager showed up amid the chaos and told people that the kitchen was backed up and there would be a wait, no time given on how long. Enough about the servers, can't fault the two that were working their butts off trying to keep up with in person orders, take out orders, and drink orders. We ordered the Texas Toast French toast with bananas and maple syrup (additional charge) and the eggs Benedict with a side of bacon. Wait time was long for the meals to arrive and when they did the French toast was cold and the eggs had eggshells in them. Back they went to appear some time later this time wit both dishes being considerably hotter. Along with the meals we ordered teas. Single cups were $1.00, endless cups were $3.00. We asked for hot water twice, once a little pot each came and the last time a large carafe of hot water appeared. We were each charged $3.00 for the endless tea, guess the extra charge was for the large pot of water. Would have been better had we just ordered individual teas. Conclusion is that we won't visit fir breakfast anytime soon given what we observed and the quality of meals. read more

My husband and I were strolling along the Marginal Way footpath, when we saw a chalkboard sign for the Blue Bistro, and realized we were hungry for lunch. We found the Bistro (it's well hidden down a series of drives & alleys), and were greeted by Jerry, our friendly and helpful waiter. I enjoyed a cup of the Haddock Chowder (very creamy and flavorful!) and the Blue Bistro Salad, and my husband raved about the crab cakes, and loved the scallops. Thanks, Blue Bistro! read more

Like dining with an ocean view in Ogunquit, Maine? I have eaten here during several visits and always leave with a smile. A favorite dish is the Fresh Fillet of Haddock which had herbed bread crumbs, baked with butter, lemon, and wine along with a Citrus Beurre Blanc. My friends at the table ordered the Lobster Roll. Clearly, this is a common food item at many a Maine eatery, yet let me tell you... these foodies were going on about it. An absolute hit! Also, the Strawberry Spinach Salad was just right.. along with their moist limoncello cake for dessert. Bursting with bright lemon flavor and quite delectable. I also enjoyed the Chicken Apple Panini at lunch. A perfect meal I ordered "to go" and ate at the beach down the beautiful Marginal Way! Server pretty much came around when he felt like it; to his credit, though he wasn't effective, he was engaging. I ordered seafood scampi, but forgot that apparently there are legal limits in Maine on how much garlic one can serve on a dinner dish, so it was a big disappointment. So, my dinner was lame. My wife's was somewhat better. Next morning, in a forgiving mood, we stopped in for breakfast, but when we tried to find a seat in the designated (outdoor) area, it smelled like someone's pet took a dump very nearby, so we sat down at a table far enough away (I want to say 30') that the smell was no longer a problem. Server told us we couldn't sit there (young lady who definitely seemed healthy enough to take an extra 12 steps each direction to serve us), so we said "forget this." The food was actually OK and might have earned 3 or 4 stars on its own, but the lazy servers make 2 stars a no-brainer here. I'd avoid it unless you're really hungry and out of options (if you're that hungry, go up the road 10 minutes a get a couple heroes at the Hannaford market.) read more

Me and my family are staying here for the weekend and we decided to get dinner Friday night to our rooms. We ordered a couple Burgers some chicken caesar salads, and two orders of Brussel sprouts. The brussels sprouts were $14 for the order and we got six brussel sprouts. Was very disappointed. Also the burgers were very thin and not worth the money. Way too many great restaurants up here to eat at the blue Bistro. We've been coming here for 30 years so we were a little disappointed in the amount of food we got. read more

11/14/18 You'd think I'd learn my lesson. Raining all day at Beachmere Inn so I thought I'd avoid going out in the rain and again tried the in-house Blue Bistro, even though the previous two times I ate here were not good experiences. This time, I tried the Caesar salad with chicken. It had all the right ingredients but the chicken was cold and bland (even though it had the appropriate grill marks on it) and the dressing amount was minimal and it was not flavorful. If it wasn't for the salt I put on it, the salad would have been inedible. Total came to $16 not counting tip and tax. I am not going back here!! read more

We got the haddock chowder and haddock along with the chicken pot stickers and steak. Nothing really stood out about any of the dishes they were all pretty bland. Blue Bistro is hidden away within the Beachmere Inn, but it serves some quality meals that aren't necessarily lobster for the sake of lobster. But I did get lobster.... Tuesday was taco Tuesday night. We got one order of chicken tacos and one order of lobster tacos. Both came with guacamole, pico, and sour cream bowls on the side, as well as tortilla chips. The tacos both were stuffed with a lot of fresh meat. Chicken tacos came in corn tortillas, while lobster tacos came in flour tortillas. They both also included a nice fillling of a greens mix. One other night we had the Beachmere salad, Maine crab cakes, and baked stuffed lobster. Salad had a great combo of fruits included with the greens and cheese, including Maine blueberries and sliced pear. Crab cakes were light and flaky. And baked stuffed lobster was served in the lobster shell, with a generous serving of crab and lobster stuffing. read more

We're long-time visitors with over 30 years combined patronage of this area. the Blue Bistro has reliably good food, generous portions, and a long-time server (Mike) who remembers preferences from one year to the next. Very reassuring to walk in and see him after missing a visit in 2020. This small restaurant in the Beachmere Inn is open to the public off Shore Rd or the Marginal Way (a scenic coastal/cliff path along the coast). Always a good meal, will keep returning. read more

Hidden Treasure - Great Views - Great Views We have stayed at the Inn several times over the past few years but this was the first time we ate there. It's dining room is small and cozy with great views of the Ocean. The wait staff is simply outstanding. They do everything they can do to make sure you have a great dining experience and both of our dining experiences were great. They are friendly and attentive. We had the haddock soup that was full of bold flavors, a must if you dine there. I had the lobster roll that was full of lobster meat and seasoned very well. My wife the haddock sandwich that was cooked perfectly and very flavorful. We also ate dinner there and again great service. I tried the lobster tacco and I am so glad I did. The chef has this entry down pat. My tacco was cooked perfectly and loaded with flavor(I could have eaten 4). My wife had the Haddock and it was again cooked perfectly. Came here on a short getaway trip to Ogunquit with my family. I had the pineapple glazed ahi tuna. Small eclectic menu, amazing food/service. There was only one server/bartender but it is a very small restaurant and was not very crowded so we ended up having a very relaxing meal. We all got different dishes: my mom got stuffed lobster, Dad got steamed mussels over pasta, my brother got chicken over sweet potato purée and we all split a shrimp cocktail. They also have daily specials and a cute fire outside. Highly recommend for a quiet fabulous meal in Ogunquit ! read more

I can't tell you how the food was, as in the hour and a half we spent there all we got was a glass of wine and some rolls. After 45 minutes without a word from either of the two staff working there we decided to leave. As we got up to go the waitress said our food was ready to go. I said I didn't believe her.
