I have been to this place twice. Sadly the first time it was on a Monday and they're closed on Monday's so no hot dog that day. Finally got here today and ordered a #4. It's a chili style dog.. but it's not topped with chili it's topped with brisket. Interesting idea but your eyes see a chili/Chicago (minus the sport peppers) style dog. Your brain and mouth expect that chili mustard flavor and you get punched with a Smokey brisket flavor. Not bad by any means. Just a mental adjustment/preparation needed. The presentation is top marks. Really well done. The pricing is beyond reasonable with sub $10 for 10" hot dog, chips and beverage. Optional up-charge of $2 for fries instead of chips. Bun to meat ratio was pretty good not more of one than the other. Now I don't want to say downfall so I'll say short comings::: When I get a hot dog from a place like this I expect a snap from the casing. There was none with the 10" hot dog option. Granted it's an all beef hot dog and I'm sure good quality but no snap for me was just a bit of a let down. Also the topping although well presented it left me wanting. Im not sure why but there was very little to no flavor from the onions and cheese. The mustard was very subtle almost non-existent. The only flavors were that of the hot dog and the smoke of the brisket. Overall the price is right. The service is very friendly. And the food is ok. This was my first time visit and I've heard great things about TMD! I usually don't eat hot dogs, but this was worth the hype and support small business and black owned as well! With the pandemic ongoing, they only allow up to 12-16 people per CDC regulation (they have markers on the floor and each group stands next to one until its time to move up). The transitions are super straight forward and I came on a Sunday (they have their soul food menu & I was so tempted to try their special oxtail, fried chicken, Mac and cheese and candy yams; but my goal is to try these amazing hot dogs) and they looked super packed! I was a bit overwhelmed because I haven't been in a crowded restaurant since the stay at home order, but I loved the lady who greeted us, and the lady who worked the first window whipping all those plates & hot dogs, calling us family. That right there made me feel more welcomed and at ease! The menu is super straight forward and the prices were fair because each key component created the perfection dish! I was super eager to order my food at the window and it took a bit just because the family in front of us had a large order, and the lady serving is so sweet and she kept a her cool and her vibe was amazing! Decided to stop by on a beautiful, sunny Saturday afternoon. We were craving some good food after spending the morning g hours playing soccer and found this place on Yelp. The 5 star rating from 500+ reviews on Yelp convinced us to give it a try. Let me start off by saying the staff was very friendly and greeted us with the southern hospitality that's come to be synonymous with small, well run, locally owned businesses in Texas. Our only issue was that we waited for 20 minutes before we had our order taken at the register. We were the only party in line. There was only one other person picking up a fairly large order. As for the food itself, unfortunately I feel the 5 star rating on Yelp is not an accurate reflection of the quality of the food. The toppings were plentiful, almost a little much if I'm being honest, yet didn't have much flavor. The dog was buried deep under all the toppings and was room temp at best by the time I had the first bite. Unequivocally, the bread [buns] were the most disappointing part of the meal. This opinion was shared unanimously by our party of 4. We were also in agreement that the best thing we had were the fries and the Mac and cheese. I almost gave up trying to place an online order due to some hiccups on the website but I finally got it figured out and I sure am glad I did. 1st let me say, it's a small cozy place. Due to Covid, you can not eat inside, however they do have a few tables outside. They also have the typical social distance decals on the floors to help maintain social distance. You order at the counter or online and take your food to go. I was welcomed with the best hello and how are you doing that I must say I've ever received..super friendly staff for sure. I love that they were interacting and talking with the customers that were inside. I ordered the brisket dog with fries. The bread they use is buttery and has a sweet note to it, almost like Hawaiian bread. The dog was cooked perfectly and I had a good amount of brisket and not too many onions, which was perfect. I only wish I had more sauce. My fries were seasoned well but I would have like them a little more cooked. My fiance and I decided to swing by after seeing the rave reviews about this black-owned business. We will be back. The curbside service was quick, friendly and attentive. The hotdogs were scrumptious. These hotdogs aren't boring, mundane, or simple. We ordered the Dirty Dog with Dud Spud fries and the BBQ Beef Brisket Dog with Frito Pie Fry. We also ordered an additional two BBQ beef brisket dogs in anticipation of wanting more. We were not wrong. The hot links were juicy and cooked to perfection. The dud spud fries were seasoned and had a nice crisp. The frito pie fry was a whole meal in itself. The brisket dog stole the show with the mouthwatering sauce, tender brisket, and soft bun. One dog is definitley enough to put you to sleep. The only warning I would have for anyone, is that if youre not a mustard person - I wouldn't order the dirty dog. It had ample. I work close to this place and decided to take a few of my co workers by so we can try it. I love the energy when you walk in the staff are talkative and friendly. The menu is pretty simple and it was a back and forth between the #7 and the #5. I decided to go with the #5 which is the BBQ brisket dog. My co worker decided to go with a #7 sausage which is the Texacali dog we were going to split it and that way we could taste both. It wasn't a line and the service was fast and friendly. Once we got back to work we split the hot dogs but noticed it was the same hot dog. It was still good so we were not upset. It may have been the mask that messed up the communication. I actually decided to order based on what I saw the gentleman in front of me order I think this is called "the big Sam "but I'm not sure. I do know that this is deliciousness on a bun. The crinkle cut fries were fresh and crispy - my only regret is not getting them covered in cheese as my lunch mate did. #goalsfornext time. My family of three have been coming here for dinner once a week for the last few months. The owners are literally the nicest people in the world. Ms. Ryan always has a smile on her face, and the food is consistently delicious. With so many restaurants struggling right now- we make a conscious effort to spend our "eating out" money here. Because when this pandemic is over, we need TMD to still be standing strong. Tonight I called in our order, and it was ready by the time we drove up. Just parked the car and they came out. Wow, I can't say enough nice things about TMD!!! My BFF and I made last-minute plans to go to lunch. I had been hearing great things from my Husband about TMD and also from the Katy Fort Bend Foodies FB page. I can verify that all of the good news is true! We were greeted enthusiastically by the entire crew upon we entering the restaurant. When we answered the question that this was our first visit, we were given guidance on how to order.
