MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE KOREAN RESTAURANT IN HOUSTON!!! I absolutely love this place. From the moment…read moreyou step into the clean, large restaurant, you get greeted by the loveliest Korean ahjummas and are seated at a table next to a TV playing some K-Drama. The menu is big, but every item on it is executed so well. The flavors are comparable to that you'll get in Korea, with the side dishes few but perfect (the kimchi, jjangachi, and radish kimchi). My favorite is the gamjatang---there is so much meat, the potatoes are piping hot, and the soup is perfectly seasoned and rich. The pancakes and blood sausages are also delicious. I love coming here whenever I crave authentic Korean food: everything from the service to the meal itself is top-tier. The prices are also very very reasonable, especially lunch prices! Parking is plentiful and it's right off the freeway. You have to come here for the best Korean food in the area---I drive all the way from the Medical Center to come here, and it never disappoints!

The ojinguh bibimbap tasted just like a super popular Korean place in OC. 5/5. Service was very friendly and the place was decently busy for lunch time. They play Korean dramas on the side and it seems spacious enough. I'm impressed for Korean food in Katy!

Tasty Ko is located further South of I-10 in an assuming plaza. As soon I stepped into the restaurant, I was hit with delicious aromas of KBBQ and seafood sizzling at the tables. I was in the mood for noodles and so was my friend - we ordered the jjamppong and the jiajiangmein. The broth for the jjamppong was super flavorful and deep with seafood notes. There were plenty of veggies (cabbage) and squid. The shrimp were small and kind of mushy - probably from a frozen bag or just not fresh. I didn't mind though. The serving size of noodles were perfect, and maybe a little bit more than I wanted since I couldn't finish the whole bowl. The jiajiangmein looked equally as delicious - my friend said there was a lot of onion in the sauce. The array of banchan consisted of kimchi, marinated bean sprouts, cold kimchi pancake, and marinated spicy cucumber. Yummy banchan as well. Tasty Ko is a great spot if you're not wanting to drive all the way to the Spring Branch area for Korean food, and not wanting to spend an arm and a leg at Katy Asian Town. Good menu selection for those who either want KBBQ or a la carte classic Korean dishes!

Watch your step! Floor is very slippery so walk carefully…read more I'll lead with the punchline which is if you come here, just get the meats because that's where they shine. We ordered the Chef's Table which comes with 4 preselected meats (all beef). My favorites were the unmarinated and marinated kalbi. It's actually quite hard to find Korean BBQ places these days that don't strictly follow the AYCE model with lower quality cuts. These were very good cuts of meat. I could've probably done without the other two cuts. They were good cuts of meat, but the kalbi really stands out. This Chef's Table set comes with 2 sides, but you should know before going that banchan does NOT come along with the meal like many Korean restaurants you might be used to. So don't expect kimchi, salads, or even the lettuce wraps to come along with the meat. You can still order them of course, but will have to be included in your choice of 2 sides. We also ordered: - Seafood Pancake - pancake itself wasn't bad, but not extraordinary. The sauce for this was a bit of a let down. It also didn't arrive until the end of the meal which is unusual. But the service itself while friendly and kind was incomplete. We had to ask for a bunch of things that normally is just considered without mentioning and we didn't see our waiter visit that much after the food was delivered. - Ja Jang Myun - This was quite honestly the blandest set of noodles I've ever eaten at any restaurant. Both my wife and I have never had something taste like nothing. Which was too bad because the noodles themselves were cooked quite nicely. Not overly soft. Very disappointing. So back to the punchline, come here for the meat and skip the other stuff. I will say, they have a lot of different specials throughout the week so maybe those might be worth checking out before coming here because it is a bit pricy for what you get.

If you're looking for an alternative to the normal grilling method of KBBQ, check this spot out…read more The meats can be cooked on a scorching stone! I got the Chef's Table so try the variety of meats but substituted out the Tri-Tips for Shrimp. The Galbi's and the Strip were fantastic and fresh. Even if you don't want KBBQ, their Korean dishes are fantastic. I recommend the Spicy Tofu soup and the Seafood Pa-Jeon which is similar to a fried savory pancake, so good! I know they advertise their Mandu's (dumplings) as a must try, but you can skip it. Not really that good. I've had better options from a grocery store. Aside from that, we will be back to try the other Korean dishes.

I know some people say it's not super authentic, but honestly, you're grilling your own food, so who even cares? Yeah, the menu can be a little confusing at first, but once you actually look through it, it's pretty simple. And trust me, the food is worth figuring it out for. We got a bunch of different beef options for the all-you-can-eat, and it was definitely worth the price -- around $34 per person. Everything tasted so dang good. They also give you sides like lettuce wraps, steamed rice, and steamed egg, which was AMAZING. There are so many things you can order, and the quality was really good overall. The staff were also nice and came around often to help if we needed anything or had questions. Overall, I think it's a really great all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ spot, and I'd definitely go back.

There is a sign stating a special 19.99 ayce for Monday thru Thurs but it's a bait, you can only choose meat items. When we asked about the special the guy was kinda rude and just said you can only get 2. Since it was so limited we decided to forego the special and go with menu A and even that is pretty limited for 29.99. On our sheet we put down multiple orders of brisket and he came out with one. The other means he set in another table, didn't say a thing, didn't say it was our order, he just left it there and we were supposed to know somehow. Brisket cuts were really thick, much more than any other kbbq places we've ever been to so it tasted different. Tofu soup is no included on menu A so we paid extra. We selected a bunch of sauces from the menu and they never brought it out. Ordering more meat felt like a chore and that we were bothering them. Guy didn't even ask for our drink order and walked off as soon as he grabbed the paper. Pretty horrible kbbq experience. We wanted to give this place a shot but will never come back. Really expensive for limited selection and an abundance of attitude. Also inside the dining area was ridiculously hot. I know it's kbbq but I've never been to one were I'm dying os sweat trying to make it through dinner. Suspect they do that to make you comfortable so you'll leave early. We never got near the 90 min mark since it was so hot in there we couldn't wait to leave.
