Just moved to the area and had to stop in to see if they had my all time favorite Raspberry filled powder doughnut. I ended up getting a bacon cheese and egg croissant along with the doughnut I wanted. Oh my Lord!! We had a donut competition at the office today. I picked up donuts here and we had donuts from Lamars and even some Voodoo donuts. These donuts were just as good if not better than the better known brands. The votes tallied in the office were pretty even between the three. Of course Voodoo has the fancier selection with Oreos on top and what not. In a head to head competition though 5280 had great stuff. I love supporting the local guy when the local guy has good products. I will definitely be back here soon. read more

Their donuts taste like Lamar's and Krispy Kreme had a child. They are light and fluffy like Lamar's and Melt in your mouth like Krispy Kreme. Every one of the delectable delights that they make are superb! They are now a favorite for our Friday donut club. read more

LOVE these FRESH and very tasty donuts! My wife and I started making a Sunday morning walk to get an amazing donut a weekly ritual. The staff has been extremely friendly and gracious every time we've been in. The place is light on decor as they're trying to build this business. I intend to support them fully! I love this donut shop. It surprises me that it is usually quiet on weekend mornings, they don't get nearly as much business as they deserve. They have a great selection of tasty, fresh donuts and the staff is super friendly. We really enjoy cake (a.k.a. old fashioned) donuts over the typical glazed donuts that you see everywhere. This shop does both really well, but the cake donuts are the best I've had...EVER. You can also get a half dozen donuts for under $5, which is amazing. Go ahead and spend almost as much for a just-as-unhealthy-lemon-something-or-other over at Starbucks, I'm going to keep getting yummy donuts at 5280. read more

This is our favorite donut shop around. They have great donuts, the best tasting ones around, and with enough of a selection that everyone in our group can find what they want (and we all have our favorites). The owners are very nice, too, and always chat with us. They're a great addition to the neighborhood, and I hope they stay in business for a long time to come. read more

Awesome little donut shop. They have a simple selection with a few special donuts that might have candy or something sprinkled on them. The donuts are just the right amount of soft and sweet. I appreciate that the donuts aren't drenched in frosting, it really lets the dough shine through. Along with Lamar's, this continues to be my favorite spot for my donut fix. I'm not a huge fan of Dunkin and Voodoo usually has a prohibitive line. Sometimes you just want some simple donuts that are done well and this is definitely the place to get them. read more

Absolutely the best donuts in the Denver metro. This is a family business. They have their own distribution and donut making operation (I found this out by asking the proprietor where she gets her donuts from, as they aren't made on site.) their donuts and pastries always taste fresh. They make the extra effort to ensure customer satisfaction. Worth the trip and you can eat on location. Get there before 9:30am on weekends as they sell out quickly for reasons you will taste. read more

I've been a donut hound my whole life. This place makes Lamars and Krispy Kreme and Dunkin taste like 2nd rate ventures. Yes, the inventory is usually gone by mid-morning. But that's a telling point. They have a LOT when they start the day - and sell out of their stock really quickly. The baker is a master. Cooking at altitude is a challenge at best. But he's nailed it. Even simple glazing (i.e. on "glazed donuts") is subtle. I honestly can't identify what makes it so good, and he isn't sharing. Also, too many places over-fill their filled products. I think that is a compensation mechanism for inferior dough and baking. This baker leaves you wanting more. You taste just enough filling to whet your whistle. I've skipped lunch because I ended up getting extra donuts in the morning on the way into work. The owners are family. They welcome you into "their home." Feel free to try something different than your usual favorites. With NO advertising and NO big signage, this little place in a mini strip mall is just PERFECT. read more

The apple fritter was probably the best I've ever had.. not too sweet.. slightly crispy outside and soft inside with chunks of apple. The dough in all our selections tasted fresh like they were just made. Lots to choose from and variety was good. Some were huge! Price very reasonable. Service was friendly. Yay! A real donut shop again! I grew up in old town Louisville back in the day of the Market Place Bakery and have been searching for a REAL donut shop since they closed. No frills on the location but donuts were PERFECT - the cake donuts were light, fluffy and flavorful (not dense dry bricks like most grocery store and franchise locations) and the raised donuts were airy and melted in your mouth. And I cannot say enough about the apple fritters, either. Mmmmmmm!!!!!Finally, I can take my kids for and get a real, delicious, donut from a local, non-franchised, shop and bring back the magic of snowy Sunday morning donuts again! Apparently national donut day is for the people that make the donuts not the people who eat them. I heard such great things and wanted to go today, and they closed two hours EARLY to celebrate NDD. I find that ironic , and thought maybe they would have stayed open later rather than close earlier. And there was nothing on the website to indicate they were closing early either. 5280 is our new favorite donut shop! The donuts are delicious. The cake donuts are perfectly done with just a little crispiness on the outside with a moist fluffy cake interior. The old fashioned donuts are creamy perfection. The prices are quite cheap (eight dollars and change after tax for a dozen donuts), the service is very friendly and there's never been a line (not enough people know about this place yet apparently). If you're looking for good donuts in Broomfield, you really need to try 5280. read more

We live around 25 and 136th, right where a brand new Dunkin Donuts opened. We still drive to 5280 for our donuts. It's not just that Dunkin Donuts is nasty, poorly frosted and almost always stale, but the donut holes at 5280 are incredible. They are light, fluffy, and every piece is perfectly frosted. If you go, get the donut holes! The regular donuts are great as well. My wife loves the blueberry cake, and my kids and coworkers love everything else. 5280 is the place to go. read more
