My family and I (total of 9 people) started with some appetizers, Mozzarella Sticks were overcooked and the Crab Dip with Pita Bread was horrible, crab dip didn't look or taste fresh. My Ribeye Steak wasn't cut or cooked properly. The Collard Greens looks like a leftover, "all fried items were obviously cooked in the same fryer, potato chips and hush puppies were too dark like they've never changed the oil in weeks. Needless to say, my whole family didn't enjoy their dinner. Their service was below average. Waitress was slow, didn't smile, never asked if we needed condiments, water/soda refill, extra napkins, or how was the food. Ambiance? TV, menu board, and sticky tablecloths! My husband, mother, and I traveled from Maryland to Havelock, North Carolina to visit family. We always like to make sure to eat at one of the local restaurants. My husband loves soul, food and southern cooking, so when we found this restaurant, we were excited? It is a very modest, casual environment. Our server was Debbie, and she was very friendly and knowledgeable. You can tell she is definitely from the south with her thick accent and her southern hospitality! My husband ordered the catfish and collard greens and he said it's the best he's ever had, hands-down! He said the collard greens were melted in your mouth delicious. He also really loved the seasoning on the catfish I ordered The fish and chips. They were catfish nuggets and fresh sliced and fried potato chips. Both were very good! My mother ordered the scallops. She was also very pleased. In addition to our server, we also met Dee. I did not find out what his role was, but I would guess he was a manager or something because he was very knowledgeable and also very friendly. He wanted to find out what we thought of everything and what they might be able to improve upon. The food was delicious, and the staff was the epitome of southern hospitality and comfort! Walking in on a sunday at 11. There wasnt anyone in here I dont know why?! The tables are clean and chairs are metal with cushions. There isn't a breakfast menu other then whats on the chalk board. Being seated and ordering was fast! Drinks came out quick. Food came out fast! We did 2 mammas fill up. With french toast. The food was great! Very well cooked and seasoned. The home style potatoes were super. Everything was warm and eggs over easy were cooked with runny centers! Perfect! Everyone is super friendly and prices were fair. Theres 5 tvs in the seating area of the restaurant showing sports. Its a relaxing atmosphere. Feels like visting a friends house. They have a nice dessert menu with to go options and they serve lunch and dinner options also to go for pick up. We will be back soon to try more items. Those who are patient won't be rewarded by some incredibly polished restaurant operation but instead rewarded with family recipes with creole and soul food influences. The owner briefly left the kitchen to ask where we were from and how we had heard of the restaurant (Yelp). This remodeled Pizza Hut is a treasure to the Havelock community. We are from out of town, and saw this restaurant had good ratings. Te'Asha's has a relaxed atmosphere, and is very comfortable. I had the shrimp plate which came with hush puppies, and collard greens as a side. My husband had a ribeye steak with a flounder filet. His order came with cornbread, and his side was sweet potato fries. The food was really delicious! Everything was fresh, and cooked to perfection. I have eaten collard greens all my life, but I have never had them seasoned so well before! The sweet potato fries were amazing, as was the cornbread. The flounder was fried crisply and was excellent, the steak was medium rare as requested, and the fried shrimp was also wonderful! Prices are very reasonable. They also serve breakfast, and we are planning to eat there again on our way back to our home. I wish there was a Te'Asha's where we live! read more

I'm convinced that anyone leaving less than a five star review is a child or just plan stupid. The food is fire, especially the crab dip, hushpuppies, and shrimp and grits. More cream cheese than anything with sprinkles of crab. No real seasoning as well. Wanted to ask for some Old Bay, Tony's, something to give it a little boost. ...NOPE..Sad thing is, this was the best part of the meal. I would not say 16 bucks worth though. 8 at best on a dinner menu, 6 for lunch. Got the crab bisque.. oh my..this was absolutely horrible. I didn't even want my wife to try it cause it was soo bad not to mention that bisque is expected to be a little thicker in texture which this was not. Tasted as if it went bad 2 days ago.. Tasted like a Spanish rice dinner instead of a Bourbon Chicken. Momma indicated the Collards were ok but still, not what she is expecting for " southern/soul" food. I get the ribs that were also much less than desirable. Had a little off of one bone. They did fall apart but were soo dry. I will give the rest to my pups. They will enjoy them. Slaw, as you can see in the pics, was a bit soupy. I don't mind it soo much but my wife is not a fan. Flavor was ok but nothing to really talk about. Hush puppies rounded out the meal and they were pretty good. The combination of Allison, hush puppies and cooled down ok crab dip kept it out of the 1 star spot. You can see that our Bill was 60 bucks after they took the crab off. For a lunch and less than ideal food in a military town, gonna be a long hard road.. All you can eat crab legs are definitely something that I have been wanting to try. The prices go by marketplace value. When the hubby took me out for my bday, all you can eat was 60 per person. If you can't eat more than 3 clusters on your own, order separate clusters. I managed to get through 2 plates with roughly 4-5 clusters on each plate and was busting at the seams. You get three different choices of butter, old bay, garlic and regular, I went with the old bay. The husband got himself a surf and turf and was pleasantly surprised at the amount of shrimp he got with his steak. The place give beachside diner vibes and the staff was great. We just bought our retirement home in Havelock and we are here right now! Christmas Eve lunchtime 2022. Heading up to Virginia now to spend Christmas with our daughter. Driving down Main Street we wanted lunch so we saw this place and pulled over. Man, what a gem of a place. Welcomed with open arms we were seated right down. This is Southern Soul food that I have been wanting since we got here. The Clam Chowder was full of clams and tasted great. My wife's chicken and dumplings was SO flavorful. I went for the meatloaf, mash and brown gravy. Collard greens were tasty. Our server was Alison and she was great. The owner checked on us and we had a good long conversation. When I walked in I was greeted with a warm welcome. As I was seated I noticed that this place really clean, which is unfortunately surprising among a lot of restaurants. Ms. Allison was wonderful and very patient with me The crab bisque was complimented by a soft and moist roll. The main course isn't usually what I pictured meatloaf to look like, but it was delicious nonetheless. The mashed potatoes tasted like actual potatoes! It's hard to screw up collard greens so that's still a plus. It's really cool to see people actually care about their business, and this place is no exception! I have to really sit and think of a better meal I've had than our meal at Te'Ashas. We ordered ribs and meatloaf as our entrees with mashed potatoes, baked beans, collards and mac and cheese as sides. The meal was delicious... the mashed potatoes were so good they didn't need gravy or butter or even salt and pepper. This is an example of cooking simple well known dishes at a different level of excellence. The wait staff was solo for the entire evening and handled the various tables and groups' requests with poise, efficiently and an excellent sense of humor. I will be coming back to the area in the fall and that's the first restaurant I'm going to. Side note...as a non-seafood gal in a seafood town, I was extra happy to see a few non oceananic options. This is a follow up review from the one I left on Christmas Eve 2022. We are back again in Havelock, our retirement home is here and we move here next spring. We remembered the great food and warm welcome we received at Te'Asha. We pulled into the parking lot but had to get on an important phone call. The owner came out to apologize that they were not quite open yet but give him 20 minutes...Is that looking out for your customers!!!!???? Once inside he took our order personally. A bowl of OMG Clam chowder to start which was phenomenal. I got pork chops and my wife the Bourbon Street chicken. Both extremely tasty. Te'Asha his beautiful daughter (after whom the restaurant is named) played happily on a nearby table while Daddy worked. This place is a GEM. Absolutely would not recommend this place .i had the worst experience with the food it was disgusting . My husband and I really wanted to enjoy our dinner.The chicken liver was not even eatable. My husband took 1 bite and sent it back. I really did not want to pay for the food. We took our food home and threw it out. Just moved to the area and had been meaning to try Te'Asha's; so glad we did! Whole the exterior is unassuming, the restaurant's interior is fresh and seems newly painted, very clean and vibrant. The wait staff was extremely courteous and engaging. And the food was exactly as you would expect: tasty, southern fare that does not disappoint! My wife enjoyed the crab legs, my son stuffed himself on the fried catfish and hush puppies, and I couldn't have been happier with the bourbon chicken. What a wonderful restaurant! My husband and I stopped in for breakfast. Had the "Mama's Fill Me Up". It was fabulous! The food was excellent, and enough for my husband and I to share. Service was perfect. They have music in the evenings and all you can eat crab from 4 to 8 PM. I highly recommend this place. Definitely going back! My first time at this restaurant was in January 2024. I drove there from Jacksonville because I saw where they served chicken and dumplings which they were out of. My next choice was livers and rice. The livers had the consistency of hard fried gristle with no taste. I should have asked the server to try to eat one but he seemed so proud of what he brought to me i didn't have the heart. We've never been before, and due to knee surgery my wife went and got a to go order. I ordered the chicken and dumplings. It tasted more like an alfredo sauce, or a heavy cream based chicken soup. It wasn't bad, but it's not what you would expect when you order it. I ordered corn as a side, and had to change that. The corn wasn't available due to an issue with their order. So, I will say that they paid attention to the quality of food they were willing to serve. So, many kudos there. All in all, I would like to go again.
