This company was sent to the townhome that I'm renting through my property manager. They drug me around for nearly 3 weeks in getting my dryer fixed. They came out once and said that they needed another person to get the dryer out. Totally fine. They never called to set up an appointment, so I called and got it situated. Again, not a big deal. They finally come out to look at it, say they need a part and say they will call to set something up. I asked them if I needed to call back if I didn't hear anything from them (because it had happened before) and they said "no, do not call us." I never heard anything for several days so I called back. The owner said that he would talk to my property manager to get the OK to replace the part, get the part ordered and call me back. Never called. I left a message with an employee (after another several days) and they said that they would give me a call back. Never called. I called several days later and an employee told me that they would leave a note for the owner to call me back. Again, they never called. Finally, I get ahold of the manager and relay to him that I'm frustrated and I just want an update and an idea of when the dryer is going to be fixed. He proceeds to tell me how he ordered it the day of, it's in transit and how Maytag had to specifically make the piece for a "brand new" dryer. When I asked why I never got an update regarding how long it was going to take for the part to come in, he went on to raise his voice at me and say that he doesn't have time to give people updates and he only relays what he knows to property managers. Then he told me to go to hell and hung up on me. I understand if he needs to speak with the property manager, but do not tell someone that you are going to call them back and then not follow up on your word. When someone tells me that they are going to call, I'm expecting a phone call. And then, to have the audacity to get angry with me when I start getting frustrated with the lack of communication. The owner of "The Appliance Store" is unprofessional, rude and unreliable. I will never recommend this company to anyone. Save your time and peace of mind by going to a different company. read more

Great experience, Great job and terrific repair person.! WOW just read many negative comments but we sure did not have any of these issues. We have a home warranty and they schedule the Appliance Store to come out on Tuesday between 7AM and 11AM. Well they don't open until 9:30 but they were here at 10. Diagnosed the problem, ordered the part, and installed it today. SO less than 7 days for a report, diagnosis and repair. I think that is pretty great. BIG thank you to Al for all his work. After A&E Factory service broke our washer when they were supposed to fix it, the technician from The Appliance Store fixed it. They called to ask if they could come early, which was greatly appreciated. They even pointed out that the technician Josh from A&E factory service through Sears Home Warranty probably didn't connect the hose correctly to try to scam us out of money. Owner is a complete scam artist. The Appliance Store was assigned to my home warranty claim for my dishwasher. Even on the initial scheduling call, before anyone came out, owner was making excuses about how it might not be covered by warranty company. I asked him to have technician come out before making any assumptions. Technician came out and said it was the exhaust fan ($50 part), and he would order the part. Then I got a call from the warranty company that the repair was too much and they were offering me replacement (of only $240??). I asked what Appliance Store reported to them, home warranty said it was the motor assembly (the entire motor) which is a $350 part. Only thing I can think of is since Appliance Store sells appliances, he thought he would make more money selling me a new dishwasher than the repair. The review is for Gary, the service technician. I have no experience with the store as such, so I cannot comment. I have a contractor's D/W: inexpensive but functional. It stopped running through cycles and stopped evacuating. Gary diagnosed the problem and ordered the part. It arrived Thursday, and Gary installed it Monday. Fast, courteous, super nice guy. Explained the one year warranty on the pump and labor. Gary did what he said he would do, when he said he would do it. What more can I ask? Friends: the $85 service trip its to come out, shake my hand, and diagnose the issue. I can't ask for free service for something that is not the provider's fault, any more than I can reject a doctor's bill when my headache is actually a hangover. I have a whole house warranty that I had to use for a dryer that wasn't working. Waited a week for the repairman to show up today between 7 and 11 am. Around 10:45 I called the store to check on the status of arrival, only to be put on hold and then hung up on! WTF? The person called me back and said it's up to the technician to call as he has the paperwork for the job. So you have no idea what's going on with you techs? He then told me he was talking to a very important client when I called and he just didn't have the info for my job. Then told me he had refused the job when they contacted him. Very rude! Called the warranty company and found out the repair store calls them for repair work hmmmm different stories. Wasted week of my time waiting for someone who had no intention of working on my dryer. Avoid! They are not reliable and scammer!. Our property management company, Chase International Property Management sent us a bunch of repair bill. Most of these bills are from The Appliance Store. I found out the dryer vent had to be serviced and we were charged for 3 times within serval month. And the 4th time, the Appliance Store sold us a used, second hand dryer for $325 dollars and charged $65 for 2nd floor. Plus tax, $416.86. 1st time is January 25, 2017, they charge $85 for "Dryer take to long to dry" VENT service; 2nd time is July 20, 2017, they charge $85 for exactly same VENT service; 3rd time, August 7, 2017, just 17 days later, we have the 3rd bill $125 for the same problem, Dryer Vent Cleaning! 4th time, October 5, 2 month later from last Dryer checking, finally they sold a second hand dryer to us. All their bills stated "One year guarantee", but they will not really honor that. They still charge every time. In my opinion, If professional repair man will understand the situation and not keep coming back week after week. Or honor the one year guarantee and not charge for the repeat trip. the management should have proper judgment to find better solution instead of charge us many times. Finally got through to someone and asked them if I could reschedule my appt. He yelled at me and told me to "listen here" if I reschedule you the home warranty company won't send me any more calls. I explained I had to work that day and couldn't be home and he still refused to reschedule my appt. I called my warranty company and told them about their horrific customer service and asked for another company. I wouldn't let this company near my worst enemy's appliances!!! read more

Avoid! These people scam you. Bought an item from them and they gave me a warranty, which wasn't cheap for a used dryer. Dryer broke immediately after warranty ran out and they said they would take a look at the repairs and possibly honor the warranty due to timing. Guy came out, seemingly uneducated about dryers. The guy took the whole thing a part, and turns out, he couldn't fix it. Told me it was an expensive electronic board. I watched him as he took everything a part because he was a bit sketchy. Didn't let him out of my site. I saw what the problem was. A slipped seal. He put it all back together and told me it would cost upwards of almost $300 to fix it. I said I won't pay it. He left. Didn't even put the vent back together. Tried to get me to sign an empty invoice. Tried to justify absurd additional charges to his 2+ hours of taking a part my entire dryer. Tried leaving without giving me a copy after I forced him to put a number on the paper. When he left, I pulled the dryer, fixed a liner, and fixed two other problems he caused with the drum and vent. Took about 12 minutes to do all of that. Dryer works perfectly. These people are now charging me $85 for the service call and $35 for "secondary charge." I refuse to pay it after they broke it even further. I didn't even use any parts. Just a screw driver, a ratchet, and a an IQ above my age. The mexican/hispanic/chinese (hard to tell with his accent) seems to be the owner and he WILL steel from you and say vulgar things to you. Avoid this place. They don't care about their reputation and they are only out to destroy your equipment in order to fake that it needs expensive repairs/parts. He says I will be paying him his service fee. Only a judge will be able to tell me I owe him money at this point. There are other places in the Reno area that offer used/new dryers for the same rate as these idiots' damaged used ones. Avoid these people. They don't need your business. They need to go out of business and learn a lesson. Or get arrested since what they do is technically illegal. read more

I contacted the Appliance Store requesting service for our refrigerator. It had stopped cooling in the refrigerator compartment. The coil located in that compartment was warm to the touch and should have been cold below freezing. There was also a noisy fan in the freezer compartment. The technician (who claimed to have 10 years of experience) arrived and diagnosed the problem as the noisy fan. The part was ordered and a second repair visit was required at a cost of $290 for part and labor. After this, the refrigerator was still not cooling. On the third repair visit, the technician discovered there was a blockage in the freezer coil preventing the coolant from circulating through it and into the refrigerator coil. The cost of this repair was going to be $8,000. I confronted the owner as to why the blockage was not found on the initial repair visit. He kept claiming the fan needed to be replaced to circulate the cold air. Only there wasn't any cold air to circulate since the coil was blocked from the beginning. Beware! read more
