Made an appt. for 1 to 5pm. THAT'S WHAT I WANTED! Repairman called early in morning while we were asleep, then showed up at 10 am ringing my doorbell. The appt. was set for 1-5pm for a reason! He woke me and my son up, we were in our pj's and robe, no coffee, no shower, etc., and when I asked why he came at 10 his excuse was "that he had called me and I didn't answer". He inferred that it was my fault for not answering the phone! He put his equip. on my kitchen counter where I prepare food without asking. He never apologized for coming at a inconvenient time. When looking at my washer, which I told him was making high-pitched, screeching, loud noises on spin, he put it on spin and when it was spinning as normal washers do he asked me if that was what I heard!!! LIKE I AM AN IDIOT! I had to repeat five times that it was a high-pitched screeching, loud noise!! He never let the washer run through a a full spin cycle, and therefore, it never made the noise for him. I paid for NOTHING. He left without acknowledging he had upset our morning and day by arriving at the wrong time, and never said he was sorry. read more

I heard Sargent's Appliance ad on the radio [KKSF] so I decided call to schedule a service call for my 6 burner Thermadore range. I do a lot of baking so I wanted everything fixed up before the holidays. Some of the burners kept snapping and would not ignite and my oven was not level so my cakes were always burning in the back and undercooked in the front. The owner scheduled a service call. The technician called to give me notice so I did not have to stay home all say. He called to give me a window and arrived right on time within the 1 hour window. He was polite and very professional. The problem was resolved quickly and I was very happy. Just in time for the holidays! I highly recommend the company. read more

I used Sargent's Maytag over the past month to fix a Samsung dryer that had stopped tumbling. The technician who came out was stellar, his demeanor was professional, he was very courteous and explained to me his thoughts around the issue, showed me the damaged component and replaced it with a compatible part. When a reoccurrence of the issue happened they dispatched the same technician to fix it and I appreciated the fact that it was done with little hassle or even an upcharge since it was related to the same component that had failed. This was back in November. Unfortunately the issue occured again this month and I think the dryer has seen its last tumble so to speak. It's 10 years old. Might as well get a new one. I appreciate their teams support. I hope everyone who uses Sargent's has a great experience, if not better considering my scenario didn't end quite as expected. read more

My old washing machine died today in the middle of a full load of wash. That meant the door was locked, so I couldn't even unload it. I desperately called Sargent's shortly before they closed, but they couldn't sent anyone for several days. Without even asking whether I'd bought it from them (I had not, although I did buy a refrigerator there a couple of years ago), the man on the phone suggested I try unplugging it and plugging it back in. I was looking to replace a washer that failed after 3 years. I was not going to invest another 500 dollars to repair it. After a search on the internet I found these machines ( with the fancy circuit boards)are prone to failure. The sales person I dealt with at Sargent's was very helpful in what I was looking for in a dependable washer that would last for years like they used to. The measure of any company is the response when things don't go according to plan...I've been a customer of Sargent's for many years. Their service dept is honest & efficient (Sal is a great technician & company ambassador!) I purchased a new washer a year & 1/2 ago, & it stopped working properly. Sal was sent out, the problem diagnosed, part ordered; and the part still hasn't come weeks later. BUT...Sargent's provided me with a loaner, took my broken washer to the shop until the part can be delivered & replaced, then reinstalled at my home. I was also given the option of their paying for my trips to a laundromat. (Not for me, but thx anyway...) Great customer service is a vanishing concept-Nice to know there are still a few places out there that provide it. read more

We were in need of a new washer as our fancy circuit board version died. We opted for an old-school traditional washer with an agitator. The young who helped us was wonderful. We discussed what was rebuilt on the machine and the warranty. He was super friendly and helpful. We purchased and returned later with a truck. He loaded the machine, too. I wish I had thought to ask his name. He made sure when we were leaving to thank us for the business and remind us that they would fix any problems with the machine for a full year. We came home, hooked it what and have now run 10 loads. The machine works like a champ! To start I chased the deal and paid the price! Ditch the big box stores! Long story short and a lot of anxiety later I drove around the corner first thing in the morning to my local appliance shop and was greeted by Steve. He was very informative and very understanding of what I had just gone through. I explained that I was now restricted on a budget(because I wouldn't be refunded my money from the big box store for several weeks) and he was more than happy to still help me. After the incident with the other store leaving me with no dishwasher at all and only a gapping hole in my kitchen his staff was eager to get me scheduled for the next day. I've never been excited about an appliance purchase. Usually I not only dread the expense but I dread having to decide WHICH thing to buy! I just purchased a washer and dryer from Shaun & Donnelle at Sargent's Maytag in Sparks. I knew I'd found the right place when I first talked to Shaun on the phone so I ran right over...and that's an event today, because we leave on a road-trip tomorrow and I should be packing. But it will take a month to get what I need, in a gas dryer. And I only had to give a $500 Deposit. So I needed to get this started. This is an old fashioned family owned appliance store. Its Awesome...but I will update this review after I take delivery, and can verify that I'm right about these people I had decided to buy the newly designed Speed Queen from a different dealer when the voice in my head reminded me there was a different dealer close in Sparks that I'd forgotten to call. And they carry a LOT MORE BRANDS...they just don't fit for me. What I wanted was the old original Speed Queen design with its bulletproof reputation for reliability, to use at a remote off-grid cabin where I cannot tolerate a breakdown! So I was less than thrilled that Speed Queen had changed their design. But the space I have available was designed for the OLD fashioned washer dryer SIZES . I thought I was stuck with Speed Queen just to make it fit. And I'm sure that would have been just fine! BUT GLAD I CALLED SARGENT'S because they carry the COMMERCIAL version of Speed Queen...exactly the same size...no lid lock...exactly like the OLD SPEED QUEEN with a FUNCTIONAL AGITATOR to really get clothes clean. I never heard of the brand but it's the #1 manufacturer of laundry equip in the world...my new washer and dryer are made by HUEBSCH in Wisconsin USA This picture shows Shaun plugging in the machine so I could see the controls light up and poke them. He had to drag a cord out! You will love buying from him! He also explained simple instructions on how to winterize the washer when we leave for the winter. We have an older whirlpool front-loading dryer and one day it decided not to turn on. So my husband took it all apart and realized it was a relay on the circuit board.
