This place has friendly staff who know vacuums well. I brought my vacuum in for repair, and they seemed much more interested in selling me a new one when I walked in the door. Our vacuum had stopped spinning, and after I tried to find the jam and was unsuccessful, I brought it in here, where I was told they had a free diagnostic. This place was able to get it going for me after dropping it off for a few days. The only reason I'm not giving this review 5 stars is that I felt like I had walked into a car dealership, pressured to spend a lot of money on a new vacuum. But I did ultimately leave happy, with my old vacuum fixed and running properly. read more

I took my vacuum to Mark at Nevada vacuum after having a confrontation with Tony's back and so in Carson City. You can see my review if you go to them. Mark was great and when I told him that the rollers weren't spinning, they had said there could be a couple of different reasons for this. And he was just about to write up the ticket when he said hang on a sec let me look at something. He turned the vacuum over and there was this little button and it was stuck. He unstuck it and the rollers were spinning! He didn't charge me a dime for thatthis is an extension of Vegas Vac and Sew and they always treated me very well. read more

It is rare these days to come across vendors who gives you the customer service of years ago. All questions are answered with accommodation and details. The owner, Bruce, actually opened the vacuum we were interested in and showed us how it all worked. They let us take home a Riccar Vacuum to test it out. And we did. When we returned the next day, Bruce cut opened the new bag and we were astonished at the amount of dust and debris inside. Being a long-term Oreck family, we were sure our home was very clean. Not realizing it, we vacuumed our house with wall-to-wall carpeting on setting 1, meant for hard floors. Amazed at how effective the Riccar is, we bought one. I stopped in their store today looking to buy a vacuum cleaner. A guy came up and talked about me getting a Riccar vacuum cleaner. The pricing was high for a vacuum cleaner. I don't know, but there was a weird vibe with this dude. He sounded like a sleazy used car salesman to me. He didn't really talk about any other vacuum besides Riccar. To him any other vacuum was pretty much junk. He must get some incentive pay for selling a Riccar vacuums. I almost pulled the trigger and bought one but the better part of me decided to shop around town first and stop at A-1 Vacuum and Sewing. Glad I did, I ended up purchasing a Sebo from A-1 and it was cheaper there. Yah he was knowledgeable about vacuum cleaners, but nothing you can't research on the internet about. I took my Dyson in for a free diagnostic and it turns out it was just dirty filters! They gave me a loaner Riccar which I loved and ended up buying! It's so much lighter and extremely effective. Bad customer service as soon as you walk in they try to get you to buy their brand of vacuums. The guy talks to you in a very condescending way. He is yelling throughout the whole conversation making you feel like you're dumb for having the vacuum you just bought for the last couple of years. I would stay away from these opportunist who are just trying to get your money and sell you something that you don't need. They are liars and I wouldn't trust them. If you plan on going inside for a vacuum seminar and having him waste 30 minutes of your time then you're welcome to go inside of the door if you like but I'm warning you that's what's going to happen as soon as you get inside, the opportunist is going to take time to tell you about his product and yell in your face. read more

The first time he told me I should have my vacuum repaired. After I repaired it, he told me I should think about getting a new one. I have consistently found this locally owned business to offer honest evaluations about repairs and fair prices. During the pandemic I was not able to find brand specific vacuum bags and the owner simply gave me a supply of them to get me through that time when supply chain challenges impacted us all. I have a Kirby Vacuum Store love my vacuum I took it to Nevada vacuum. They quoted me one price but then charge me something else when I picked up my vacuum. I told them the estimate included the part. They said oh well he tried to get as close as Possible. I wasn't happy with the fact that I had to pay $20 more which they knew exactly what The problem was. It wasn't that they found something else wrong with my vacuum and the guy was really rude when I picked up my vacuum. So I am not going back there. I really don't like being lied to and I'm not a fan of manipulative sales tactics. Dropping off your vacuum for repair? Be ready to be aggressively pitched on buying a Riccar. This store is a trap, with each area designed to make you feel like your vacuum is crap by comparison. Perhaps it is? I'm not reviewing the product however, I'm making you aware of this overly dramatic, overly rehearsed and overly aggressive sales pitch. And as other more critical reviews have pointed out, these people LIE and will say just about anything for the sale. This WONDERFUL "salesman" mentioned in all the 5 star advertisements (AKA "reviews") tried to convince me of lying to my wife, kept being really loose on product pricing and trade in values, told me my vacuum wasn't ready just to add more pressure on my decision (and when I called him on the bluff, he said "ohhh here it is, wow its actually fixed)...and treats people like idiots thinking his bravado and aggression will force one into rushed purchases. The price was fair and Bruce was super helpful! He didn't try to over sell and was honest. My vacuum cleaner is 13 years old and runs like a champ!! It's the little things haha. This review is overdue. I purchased a Riccar Vacuum from them a year ago. Let me start off by saying that they have an excellent salesman, and not in a used car kinda way. I do like to be sold something and I like for my next question to be answered before I ask it. He was in my head answering things and concerns before I voiced them. He also showed me and allowed me to experience it for myself. Like most people, I had never heard of Riccar but was instantly pleased to see the American​ flag proudly​ displayed on ​the front of every vacuum. American quality and craftsmanship felt evident, especially compared to the Dyson​ plastic toy I was used to pushing around... over the same spots, over and over and over again. Hugely pregnant at the time I was very grateful to be escorted to my car and have my new vacuum and accessories loaded in and a hug to seal the deal. Seriously, it felt like I bought a vacuum from the cool family friend ​you always introduce as your uncle (because you want to not because they insist you do) but he's not really your uncle. Part of my purchase was that my 1st year cleaning was free. That year went pretty quick with 2 under 2 and you can only imagine the messes that vacuum has seen... and you can only imagine​ the condition of this poor workhorse of a machine at its​ 1st year checkup. I don't mean to open a pity party at all, but I, like most moms I know, are exhausted, and just feel plain wore out. Being honest, taking the vacuum in for a checkup​ was just one more thing that got piled onto my neverending, perpetually growing laundry list of stuff I have to do and I wasn't 'excited' about it. When I arrived at Nevada Vacuum and took in my absolutely filthy​ vacuum (which turned out to have a BLOWN bag which spilled all over their​ table and floor when they opened it to check it out)... they made me feel like a queen. That sounds overdone and cliched but I did. I felt like I was the most important person in their​ world at that moment and my happiness was their ​priority​. Despite my being mortified​ that my house's dirt was now all over their​ shop, they made me feel amazing. I seriously felt a perk in my step. The day felt not as heavy and I got a burst of energy. It was the most pleasant thing I have done from my Holy-Crap-I'm-An-Adult-With-2-Tiny-Humans-To-Do list in a very long time. Vacuuming is an essential reality for most of us. And having a vacuum that works and does it right is hugely important, especially if you shell out hundreds of dollars for machines- they need to work. The vacuum they sold me is great; it does the job and works hard. But the human element of Nevada Vacuum is what I appreciate​ the most. Those guys didn't end at the sale a year ago. In fact,​ they worked just as hard if not harder to make me happy at my cleaning checkup even when no money was involved. They created happiness and I can honestly say they earned my loyalty. I will never go to another shop for anything if Nevada Vacuum can do it. Some of you might think I'm weird and over the top; "Jeeze lady it's just a vacuum"... but if they can make me this happy over something so minor as cleaning up my vacuum cleaner, why would you consider going anywhere else? And, true to form, he escorted me to my car and loaded my pristine, waxed, polished, new belted, lubricated vacuum and sent me off with a hug and all I bought was a box of new vacuum bags. read more

Horrible service! We brought in our unit to be repaired. They said 10 days...30 days later we went in and picked it up in the same condition as they had not repaired it. They don't care about their customers or they would have picked up the phone. I would not suggest any one use them. read more

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Called the store about getting my Dyson repaired. Bruce, the employee said to come on down, and they would get it fixed up for me. Even told me I could get a loaner vacuum for a couple of days. When Bruce called me, he told me that my vacuum was all done and ready to go. Went down there to take my vacuum in. I went in, and he said they would have to replace a part. I said, "ok sounds good." Long story shorter... I went to go pick up my vacuum, and the man (Michael the owner) working in the shop was extremely rude and condescending to me. He told me that they couldn't fix my vacuum and that Dyson doesn't sell their parts anymore. He told me that it was $60. They didn't do anything!!!! Why would they charge me?! He was very loud and obnoxious and tried to sell me some vacuum called Riccar. He talked to me like I was stupid and also gave inconsistent advice. I walked out with an amazing Riccar made for pets with a 7 year full warranty and my first two services included. I got a great trade on my old pet Dyson. Our Dyson vacuum broke and we were sent here by the company for a warranty repair. First thing I was told was that it was the filter which was not covered under warranty and would be $70 plus parts to fix. I told him that it wasn't just the filter. He says that is one of the problems. Then he tells me that Dyson is crappy on carpet and proceeds to go into a sales pitch for buying something different. At that time I left as I could see they were more interested in selling than fixing. Not very happy with this place, I have bought a belt here in the past and took my current vacuum in for a small warranty issue. Both times, they would bad mouth my current machines and try to get us to buy a new model of what they sell. I am very happy with what I have and don't appreciate when I am bringing them business that they tell me my equipment is a poor design. These are machines that we have been happy with for years. Every good woman out there knows that when your vacuum is broken the axis that rotates your world stops spinning. What's the point in sweeping the kitchen floor if the vacuum doesn't work? What's the point of keeping the kitchen clean when you have swept up corners that need vacuuming? What's point of putting away the laundry when the floors look filthy? We all know that you can spend eight hours cleaning your house and if the vacuum is broken it still looks awful. What's the point getting out of bed when the house looks awful? My beautiful friend and long time partner "Mr. Dyson" recently had a nervous breakdown and started making crazy noises and lost all suction. After my initital three stage grieving process was over (denial - during which point I tried to fix it myself, anger - during which point I was super mad and attempted to do my entire 2200 square foot house with a dust buster, and acceptence - during which point I ate too much ice cream) I decided to look at some yelper reviews and decided to take my favorite household machine to Nevada Vacuum. My "three stage grieving process" took longer than Nevada Vacuum's "fix it process". Step 1: - Drop Mr. Dyson off at his hospital. Meet with two super nice and chipper guys who diagnose the problem within 30 seconds. Step 2: - Call Dyson headquarters and inform them that my warrenty covered friend is at the hospital. Step 3: - Call Nevada Vacuum and let them know Dyson has been informed. Step 4: - Get a phone call from Nevada Vacuum about 3 hours later letting me know that Mr. Dyson is ready for pick up. Step 5: - Go to Nevada Vacuum and tell them I'm ready to pick up Mr. Dyson. Step 6: - Look for Mr. Dyson amoung other repaired vacuums and don't see Mr. Dyson. After looking harder for Mr. Dyson I see him right in front of me and realize that I didnt even recognize hiim because he looked brand new! I took him for a test run this morning and he works great!!! I would recommend Nevada Vacuum in a heartbeat to any of my friends who are going through the crisis of a sick vacuum. The staff are all over the top nice and happy and excited to help. They carried my vacuum back to my car for me and gave me helpful hints on keeping it healthy. The did not try to upcharge me for anything and I couldnt be happier. It took less than 48 business hours to get it back and get back to keeping those floors clean! A++++! read more

Five star service! I had a Hoover wind tunnel that needed cleaning and work very badly. When I picked it up it looked brand new despite the rough use I've given it and it functions great now. These guys....they're the only guys who could ever make me write a review about a vacuum store. So, I stumbled in today with my crappy Hoover that I stupidly purchased on amazon. It was making a weird sound. I was distracted when I arrived and carrying too many things and somehow, some way, I locked my keys in my car. I walked in and told them what was up with my vacuum. They said they were confident it was a clog and they'd have it ready in a half hour. Awesome. Then I sheepishly explained that I wasn't going anywhere because I had locked my keys in the car. The vacuum technician went next door to the dry cleaners, found a wire hanger, and proceeded to spend 10 minutes unlocking my car through the slight opening in the window. Umm, service much? He and the shop owner were absurdly nice about it, too. As promised, the guys fixed my vacuum for thirty bucks inside of a half hour. Then they explained why my vacuum was crappy and what I might want to get instead. All of the vacuums they suggested were reasonably priced and had awesome features. I told them I couldn't make any purchases right then, and then they told me that they offer layaway at NO CHARGE. I still didn't buy a vacuum, but this is kind of amazing to me. This afternoon was a great reminder to me why local businesses are the bomb and why Amazon is not the place to buy stuff that you might want to ship back. These guys are awesome. My 8-year old Dyson needed a tuneup. I brought it in, and they went to work. They called me 2 days later, and recommended a small belt change in addition to the regular maintenance package. Total damage equals $85 tuneup +$15 improvements. When I picked my vacuum up, I barely recognized it. It was spotless. When I plugged it in, it was SO MUCH better than before. Also, they taught me how to better care for my Dyson. Thank you!! I need to empty it out before it gets too high, that makes a big difference. The guys also cleaned my old disgusting 8-year old filter and gave it back to me to keep for the future. That's customer service, they could have just thrown it away as I paid for a new filter. So why remove one star for such awesomeness? When you bring your vacuum in, you will get a sales pitch to buy a new vacuum by a name you've never heard of before. I can't blame them, I'm sure there is more money to be made selling a new vacuum versus repairing an old one. That said, if I'm not interested in a replacement vacuum, let it go! Don't insult my choice, also known as my Dyson. There were so many slanted digs at my Dyson, and frankly, it pissed me off. I love my Dyson, I don't know if I would purchase a brand new one again, but for now - I'm happy. Let it go. And if you hate my vacuum that much, don't put your sticker on my machine. read more

Very friendly folks, great old-fashioned service. I was pleased with the quick turnaround on the repair of my Dyson vacuum. When there, I discovered that they carried a brand I had never heard of: Riccar, which is made in the USA. After getting a demo from Michael (which included throwing pink dust on their black carpet sample! Haha! How often do you see that?!), I purchased one. I'm really happy with it, and also with the knowledge that there is a local company who can do the maintenance and help out if there are any issues in the future. It's nice to find a small shop that caters to its customers. Judging from the number of people going in and out, they are very popular. I recently purchased a Riccar vacuum cleaner from these folks...yeah, I'd never heard of it either! But, let me tell you, this machine works! It was more than I had intended to pay, but I've already seen the benefits of having it. What was even better, was the service I got from the guys in the shop...My husband, bless his little pea-pickin soul, didn't install the new bag properly and we wound up with a VERY messed up machine. Thankfully, it has an auto-shut off so that the motor doesn't burn out due to stupidity! I took it into the shop, they showed me what the problem was, explained how the machine functioned to save us, and how to keep it from happening again...NO LECTURES! Then they took it back, cleaned it up (inside and out) and had it back to me in two days. These folks, and their machines, are GREAT! read more

They were nice and went out of their way to be helpful on a small purchase of three vacuum cleaner bags. I bought a Sears Kenmore vacuum cleaner in the 1990s specifically because it was Sears and an institution and I thought getting vacuum cleaner bags would be as easy as going to Sears. Turns out Sears doesn't stock these anymore. I can order them and have them delivered, but Sears doesn't carry them. I called several places in town trying to find them. Nevada Vacuum was the one place that called around and tried to find something that worked. The first bags they sold me didn't work. I took them back and described the bags and they then sold me some Eureka vacuum cleaner bags that did work. That was a lot of work for a $6 sale but I appreciate it. read more

These people are friendly and honest. We found them after having a very bad experience at A-1 Vacuum and Sewing (see my review), and found out that business had actually been ripping us off. Nevada Vacuum told us our Simplicity vacuum was actually under warranty for 8 years, not the 3 years we were told at A-1, and they fixed our vacuum the same day we took it in! They have always been very friendly, professional, and helpful, and we will take all our products here from now on! Not only did they help us with our vacuum when we needed it, they were honest with us when the owner of A-1 was not, and actually had been ripping us off for years.
