The Quintessential Texas Hill Country Day Out!…read more If you're looking for the perfect blend of Texas hospitality, smoky BBQ, and scenic vineyard views, look no further than the Austin Detours Hill Country BBQ & Wine Shuttle. I recently took this tour in February, and it was the highlight of my weekend (as I'm a local). Whether you are a local hosting out-of-towners or looking for a professional team-building outing, Austin Detours provides a seamless, stress-free way to experience the best of Central Texas. 5/5 recommend! Our day started at the Austin Visitor Center where we met our driver, Luke, who was fantastic throughout the trip. We hopped into a comfortable Mercedes Sprinter van for a smooth 40-minute drive out to the hills. One of the best parts of these tours is the people you meet. Our group included travelers from Ontario and Brazil, and it was wonderful swapping stories about their first impressions of Texas while we cruised toward our first stop. We started strong at this legendary BBQ spot - The Salt Lick. After placing our orders for some of that famous fall-off-the-bone brisket, we took a quick walk over to Salt Lick Cellars to grab some wine. Pro tip: Salt Lick is BYO, so being able to grab a bottle right there to pair with the BBQ is a game changer. Next up was Driftwood Estate Winery which was pure relaxation. We grabbed a bottle, found a spot under a massive oak tree, and just took in the incredible Hill Country views. Our new international friends joined us after their tasting, and the conversation was just as good as the wine. Our final stop at Fall Creek Vineyards was originally meant for a formal tasting, but the interior was buzzing and a bit loud. Since the Texas weather was doing us a massive favor -- sunny and nearly 80°F in February! -- the group opted to buy a few bottles and head outside to the fire pit. It was the perfect way to wind down. The drive back to the Austin Visitor Center flew by. We were all chatting, sharing snacks, and enjoying a final beverage in the van. A few things to keep in mind: The $69 price is for the expert guide and transport. You'll want to budget about $35 for BBQ and $10-$25+ for wine tastings/bottles. The Vibe was incredibly flexible. Whether you want to do a formal tasting or just split a bottle by a firepit with new friends, the pace is up to you.

This is a whimsical escape game that took place in South Congress St in Austin. If you're down to get a bit silly in public and solve riddles while exploring the area, this is for you. Bring water, a hat, and good walking shoes - it can take up to 2 hours but is very fun with a group of 4. Also, make sure someone has strong internet connection - it is necessary for some of the clues. You only walk 2-3 blocks one way and there's plenty of places with shade and tables to rest in between, so it is very doable for anyone of any fitness level and the puzzles are accessible to all. Plus, Mission Control is responsive for when you're stuck and meets you in person throughout the experience! Very fun! And lucky for us, it was a cool-ish summer day, so not horrible for walking around. Become a master of time travel!

I was tasked to plan a fun team building activity for some out of town quests. So I thought this would be great as the weather here in Austin was cooling down to get outside of the box. As we know when it's hot here, it's super hot and that's just no fun at all. There were 12 of us, and we broke up into two groups and were each given a suitcase that we were tasked to do different adventures in East Austin. We were greeted by our tour guide, who gave us everything that we needed to make sure that we had an incredible afternoon. And we did. I could not recommend this more if you've got five or more people coming in I wanted to go out and have some fun in Austin. You'll make lots of memories have lots of laughs and see lots of things you may not have seen before. So don't be afraid that people are gonna be bored, because they won't. Lots of great memories :) thank you One more thing. You'll want to wear some shoes that are comfortable. As you will be doing some walking. Also - choose your end spot - the restaurant we had was not my favorite.

We were on the hunt literally for something fun, active, and a little outside the norm for our weekend. That's when we stumbled upon a local scavenger hunt experience right near home. It sounded like the perfect blend of movement and adventure so we signed up. Enter MJ, our energetic and enthusiastic Hunt Guide. From the moment we started, she was cheering us on, keeping the energy high, and encouraging us every step of the way. The two-hour hunt flew by. While we didn't manage to complete the entire list, we made up for it with a few fun bonus missions that boosted our final score. One of the most memorable moments? Walking into a dive bar on a mission to find a San Marcos native. The second we stepped in, the music didn't stop but it may as well have. Heads turned. It felt like we were aliens who accidentally landed in the middle of someone's regular Saturday scene. But, mission accomplished! We found a guy who looked like a leather-clad biker from a movie turns out, he was born and raised in San Marcos and couldn't have been more welcoming. The hunt turned into more than just a game. We discovered hidden corners of the city, chatted with locals, and learned that San Marcos is not just a great college town it's somewhere we would've loved to have spent our college years. What really stood out was the variety of activities throughout the hunt each one pushed us just a little out of our comfort zone and made us laugh, connect, and enjoy being in the moment together. If you're looking for a unique way to explore a city, meet new people, and get moving, I can't recommend this hunt enough. We're already eyeing Kit Kat's other hunts in different cities!

They said about once or twice a year this happens. They believe that it was a scam and they do not support this business. The Visitors bureau has no knowledge of this company and also believe that it is a scam. I was texting back and forth and pretty sure it was with a bot. I requested a refund stating the reasons why. The bot said that she could not help with this. She said that she would share it with Leadership above her and someone would reach out to me within a week. CRICKETS! I have disputed the charge with my bank. I tried some of the various emails that I could find for them but it showed up as a non-valid email addresses. Right now I think one went through. I reached out to Viator as the people who charged my credit card. They stated that they could do nothing. It has to come from the operator. This was supposed to be a fun trip for 6 woman turning 65 who have been best friends since 1972. Three of us lost our husbands. In addition, one woman lost her son at the age of 19 to suicide. I want my money back and I keep getting nowhere. Oh, one of the cues was to find a place that sells ice cream and do a yoga pose in front of it.............really!! I am trying my hardest to get a refund. Maybe for young ones on Tic Toc or instagram because that is all that it is! Do not do this!!
