Service - OK, Pricing - Dishonest. They were able to take a last minute order and get it done promptly; though they did not print the number of copies requested after relaying the order via email and phone, causing a delay on a tight schedule. Not a huge deal... The reason for the 2-Star review is the from the bill that I received. On their website it CLEARLY listed the price for printing in color ($0.09/side - unlimited for 1st time customers, NO fine print). They billed me over 3x what my order should've cost and when I disputed it, they said they didn't charge me for a couple of items for their mistake and there were certain stipulations with that pricing that was not actually listed on their site... then after a few requests they recalculated the price and still charged me over 2x what the order should've cost - would not honor the advertised price. 1st and last time my company will use PrintFast read more

I used them twice and I am very, very impressed. I sent them a proof and it was ready in a couple minutes. I went to check the proof at their facility, it was exceptional, and they printed the rest while I watched. It was a small run of 10 x 16p booklet/brochures. They were stapled/folded with a hammerhead pinch so they laid flat and didn't puff up at the fold. They really looked great. They will be my first choice of printers from now on. read more

I went here on a Saturday about 1 pm and found locked doors. There's also no signage indicating their hours of operation. I guess the place opens and closes whenever the hell they want. They're certainly not open from 10-4 on Saturdays like their web site claims. Maybe I'll try them during the week, maybe I'll just take my business elsewhere. NOT recommended. Update: Updated to 4 stars. OK My bad. The courtyard entrance (not the street entrance shown in my photo) has the entry doors for this business. However, just inside the door is a huge sign that indicated to me it was not the Art place. I went back during the week and took care of my business. The people here were great and very professional. They took my simple copy job and converted it into a work of art. And at no extra charge. We also had a discussion about my first review and I got some insight into their business. All in all I would definitely recommend this place. The person who recommended the business to me said they make copies for only 10 cents. That's only for first time customers, so if you go back, budget for their regular copy prices, which is still worth it. read more

Both times, my order took longer than what they told me, and they did not bother calling me to update me on the time frame. I found The Art Place on Yelp and they were also personally referred by colleagues of mine. I had asked around for a competitive local printer to bring my business to. Our order was quite simple... Postcards with completed artwork in PDF format in the quantity of 500. We provided the artwork in an email and confirmed the quantity required. No one called when our order was ready. We finally called and arrived at the store the next morning. When I arrived, the woman had trouble finding the order. When the box was brought out, it immediately looked like 1000, not 500. When I asked her about the order quantity, she was very defensive and asked if I was calling her a liar. She told me that my wife had asked for 1000 on the phone and that I should question my relationship with my wife! I paid for the full quantity and told her that I would not be bringing my business back. Her response was "Money doesn't matter to me!" It seems to me that a print shop should have accurate ordering systems, friendly customer service, and show that you care (at least a little bit). On a side note, print quality was good And the order was received timely. I can't give them one star... Maybe I just caught them on a bad day? Hope they can pull it together for the next customer. read more

I will not be using The Art Place again. Customer service is not in their vocabulary and they outsource for printing jobs! I submitted my order online and did not get a response. I had to call back 4 days later and Galia apologized and said they would be ready Tuesday or Weds the following week. I called back on Weds and she said they were not ready and she would call me right back. She never called and the order did not arrive until Thursday. When I picked up the order Tony told me that they use an outside vendor because its cheaper for them. I explained to him that I was upset about the lack of service. He was unapologetic and his response was "We are busy." I told him that I would not being using his service and that I would be do a Yelp review. His response was "Thats your decision. I will Yelp YOU too." That just goes to show you their poor attitude and service. Why would you Yelp ME if you haven't even used MY services yet? Just to get revenge. What is the point of having a local print shop if they don't even print it there and you have to pay more and wait 2 weeks!!?? I can save the $60 markup and order it directly online from the source! And not have to deal with the attitude and run around. Save yourself the time, money and trouble. Find a reputable printer or order online. FYI This is the only negative review I have on Yelp. Also, the first time I ordered from them it took them a long time to get back to me. The only friendly worker at the store is the filipino gentleman. **** UPDATE **** A few minutes after I posted this YELP review, Tony emails me harassing me and threatening me. He says he is going to sue me, call the police, call my broker, and call the child welfare agency because I called him a name after he was rude to me and after receiving terrible service. All this after leaving a deservingly poor review on Yelp. Wow, okaaaaay. I have all his emails saved for my records. Is this the kind of business that you want to work with?? This shop has literally been around for ages and everytime I go to 24 hour fitness, church, armstrong, mcdonald's, anywhere on the east side of Rancho Penasquitos I pass by this shop but I've never actually been in it. But for the first time in all my life of living in this town I went to this store last week. Usually I get things printed at kinko's or at school but my sister's wedding is coming up and we decided to give this place a try. The people who own this place are really nice, professional, and because it's mom and pop the prices are really cheap. We printed a really high quality color printed pattern sheet on a glossy cardstock for less than 40 cents a page! It was wayyy better than kinkos! I'm really glad we went to this place, and I know everyone who lives in PQ has seen it, but they should really try it, you'll get a better bang for your buck. read more

They do extremely high quality work, and the prices and service are great. I don't do super big printing jobs, but the printing I need done does have to be perfect quality, and I've always been 100% satisfied with Art Place--I just wish I found them sooner. I left my voice message at 9:30 AM for a quote on same day service. In less than an hour I had received a return phone call from James and provided a quote and amazing prices. He even called me back to alert me to an esthetic correction he could make for me on a flyer for free. I had the flyers available in less than a half hour and I call that 5 star service! He was very helpful & knowledgable on all the products, but it made me uncomfortable to see how the owner's wife, who is there the bulk of the time, spoke down to him. I don't like supporting businesses that treat their fellow employees like they're incompetent. It made me incredibly sad to see. The pricing was inconsistent each time, & the owner's wife made you feel as if you were inconvenient when you had a question or needed any help that involved her effort beyond her desk. Reading the business owners response to some of these yelp reviews is appalling. I went in there about 2 months ago to ask them about a sign I needed to print. The lady acted like she has never heard of anything I was asking for. Basic things a print shop does that I have had done at other shops no problem. Her whole attitude just rubbed me the wrong way.
