I can't remember the names of the platters that we got but we got a gyro/pork/chicken platter and one that had mousakka, pattitsio (I am definitely spelling these incorrectly), dolmades, and spanakopita and we got one of the pasta dishes with meatballs and not pictured we also got the saganaki. My favorite was the saganaki, it was so good but I do wish we got more for the price. The pasta was my next favorite and a surprise hit for me. I was expecting something kind of lackluster, like just some spaghetti or something, but I thought it was very very good. The rest of the food was was good, some of it was stuff I wouldn't order again but that's a personal taste preference and nothing on the restaurant. I love how extensive the menu is and how the offer a ton of platters with different options so you can try multiple things. The service was good and I enjoy the quiet homey atmosphere. Go, go, go! We went for lunch and the food was fabulous. Started with Saganaki (flaming cheese). It is cheese that ouzo is poured over and then lit on fire and served with pita bread. The cheese has crunchy top which was good, however there is a slight taste from the ouzo. I ordered the lamb chops which were cooked perfectly and has wonderful taste. Friend had the spanakopita with gyro meat and two dolmades. When she bit into the spanakopita triangle you could hear the crunch and see the layers. We were full but ordered the baklava to take home. I opened the box and the waft of honey was lovely. Ate it at home and it had layers and sweet gooey inside. read more

I love this restaurant! It's not too far from home and love how it's family owned and run. I absolutely love their Greek salad and order it every time I dine here. Staff is super friendly as well! Their baklava is excellent too. I like that it's not too sweet. Interior of the establishment is clean, restrooms are clean as well and the noise level isn't excessive. Amazing restaurant! Open during covid and all policies are being adhered to. We came and were sat down in one of the corners of the dining area. The servers were all so great, friendly and hilarious. We opted for the saganaki (and they light it right at your table!) and the chef's platter. This was more than enough for our group of 4 ladies. Everything tasted great! The saganaki went perfectly with the pita bread, and all the meats and veggies on the platter were flavorful. We ended with the angel hair baklava (highly recommended) and chocolate cake. We called ahead and ordered 2 gyro sandwiches. The meal was ready at the promised time, and it was hot and fresh. The French fries are some of the best ever! The gyro came with plenty of meat and the pita was warm and full of flavor. We like dining in here, but had never done take out. Overall great experience! We will be back. There is a very "Greek" vibe in the place, from the décor to the television playing international television news. It was not very busy or loud so the service was extra good. Its Greek Lunch this time around... Thankfully we managed to run some errands in this part of neighborhood and to Athenian Restaurant we went. Wednesday October 10th 2012. Time was at about 12:10hrs. When we first arrived at this establishment, there were several other patrons dining in. We opt to be seated at one of the booth. Our server is inviting and welcoming. Thru the Menu, we opt for these following items : * Calamari ($9.50) * Crispy Hashbrowns, Eggs, Gyro and Feta Cheese ($9.00) * Gyro Sandwich with Fries ($8.95) Hubs had coffee ($2.25). When my order of Calamari arrived at our table, I like it alot since the Calamari its NOT cut into rings, but as whole to begin with, and with the light batter and all the trimmings, it was indeed satisfying and DeLiCious on its own. The Calamari as part of the Appetizer comes with its own salad with cubes of tomatoes, raw white onions and crumbles of feta cheese. It comes with "sour cream" or was it Tzatziki and its own "salsa". I am indeed intrigued by the "salsa" sauce, its slightly spicy but yet wonder if its home-made from scratch. As for Hubs, he opt for the Crispy Hashbrowns, 2 Eggs and Gyro with several cubes of Feta Cheese. Hubs order also comes with cubes of Green Bell Pepper in it. The Gyro was seasoned perfectly and Hubs like his order very much since he rate it as 3.5 stars. I opt for the Gyro Sandwich. Portion is reasonable and the Gyro meat aka Sliced of Seasoned Lamb meat was D.E.L.I.C.IO.U.S... Mouth-Watering Delicious. Even while I am typing this review, cant help drooling or Salivate To The Max! The Gyro was sandwiched in a Pita Bread, with cubes of Tomatoes and Raw White Onions. My order comes with Tzatziki and Fries. I wish I could have more... With tips and tax our lunch cost $40. The service was prompt and Hubs had his coffee free flowing during our lunch hour. I recommend eating that with the meats. The greek salad was very fresh and had great cheese and a nice acidic dressing. Make sure to have a glass of greek red wine if you get any red meat. This place is pretty solid, the food has been consistent and tasty the 3 or 4 times I have been. Recently they did a menu change and it seems like prices rose a bit which is always disappointing. During my last visit we ordered the chocolate baklava which has been the only thing I didn't love, it was kind of dry even with what tasted like Hershey syrup drizzled on top. Located in an older shopping center. Outdoor and indoor seating. As soon as I arrived I was nicely greeted. A spacious table was made available to me, even though it was just me. The staff seems to be very attentive. The Greek Beer reminded me of a Hienaken. The salad, though simple was very tasty. I ordered a lamb plate off menu. The lamb was tasty, not too gamey, tender and juicy. Some piece were a bit thick, but not too bad. I was expecting the potatoes to be a bit more seasoned, but they were good. Went for a quick lunch....owners were in the outdoor area smoking ....so if you are not a smoker the stench of tobacco already penetrating your nostrils reminds you of the early 1990's in a Pub. I ordered the lunch kebabs are they were dry as a desert and lacking in taste. It was not a cheap lunch either....almost 20 bucks for inedible overcooked food. The best part would be the pita and dips they brought out. Seeing all the positive reviews leads me to think 1 of 2 things....either the lunch time chef is horrendous and they use a different person for dinner or the rest of you do not know what moist,seasoned food taste like. I am leading to think they use a different chef for their busier hours. I will give this place another shot for dinner to see if the quality changes. read more
