Eventually, I finally walked through the door, and I'm writing this review to help you not make the same mistake I did . The first thing you notice is how warm and inviting the place is. Wood tables, fun chairs, great music, and plants. So many plants. It feels like an actual neighborhood hangout. Here's the funny part: I can't stand beer. My wife likes it, but my taste buds won't allow it. I'm also a type 2 diabetic, so a lot of the usual brewery food isn't really an option for me. But the first time we came in, I saw things like Caprese Salad, Italian Salad, Smoked Salmon, and other options that actually work for me. And then I discovered they make their own hard seltzers. Game changer! They always have several fun flavors, and they're unsweetened, which is exactly what I'm looking for. You can also get cans to go if you want to bring some home. You can tell the husband and wife owners have put a lot of love into this place. It's comfortable, welcoming, a little quirky, and they've always been incredibly kind. So if you live around here or just driving through, check it out!

When I arrived, I noticed there were several tables and a bar where you can essentially get brews and food. I noticed they had several beers on tap which I was very curious about, but unfortunately did not have time to sit down and eat at this establishment. The person at the bar was extremely friendly and made me feel very welcome. The two sandwiches came up to $40ish. I brought the sandwiches home and first tried a few bites of the Fancy Pants Sando. I will have to say it was the better of the two sandwiches. I appreciated the goat cheese in the sandwich and the mix of different ingredients, but it was not something I would consider to be a great sandwich, at least not for me. Others might find it pleasant, but I did not care for it much. The fig sandwich was the one I was more excited about and expected some sweetness to be cut down by the bacon. I don't think it was a perfect balance between the two, and I got a tad much of the overwhelming sweetness of the figs in this sandwich. Again, others might enjoy it, but I didn't care for it. I really wanted to give this place a great review, but unfortunately it did not meet my expectations. The beer looks fun though and might be a good reason to give this place a try, and you may enjoy their sandwiches and many people have. For me, that's a no-go.

We did get there right when they opened for lunch, but that doesn't always equate to good and special attention. We ordered two of their artisan pizzas for our table of 3. The 'Fairview' was a must order and a huge hit. It used a heavy cream base and a house cheese blend. The toppings were house back bacon, gorgonzola sprinkles and pears...yes pears, which made this sucker pop! We also ordered a Lacrosse pizza- olive oil, fresh mozz, red peppers, italian sausage, pecorino and basil. This pizza was really light but packed a flavor punch as well. They have many other specialty pizzas on their menu that also sound amazing, ranging from yellow curry based to ones with snap peas, fried eggs, carrots and more. If artisan pizzas aren't your jam, they have sandwiches, salads, stews and more. To answer my original question...this place is the 2000s Goat...or very close to GOAT.
