Living in Hackensack... We are surprisingly limited on the amount of bagel shops that are in our area (good bagel shops too). I've been coming here for many years and I've never been disappointed. They have a good assortment of bagels and cream cheese spreads. Should. They're always busy, but they're always still accommodating. The prices could be a little bit better, but that you get the burden county. I hope it's just a common enjoy a bagel one morning and make it your way. I like a Russian pumpernickel bagel with bacon egg and vegetable cream cheese. Yum!

Everything. Everything egg. Cinnamon raisin. Plain.

Found this hidden gem during a 5-day stay in Hackensack. Bought a dozen fresh bagels to bring home for breakfast and love how we got a bakers dozen! Super helpful and friendly staff and bagels were delicious and so fresh. Lotsa varieties! The French toast bagel was divine!! And the cream cheese was so good! Fresh strawberries in the whipped cream cheese spread! Thank you!

Growing up a Foodie in NJ means you've had many, many Taylor Ham Egg & Cheese sandwiches. Although all over NJ, NY, PA, it's strictly NJ's "state food". I AM a worthy judge.... As for The Bagel Shoppe it has lots of parking and plenty of staff (at least on the weekends when I go) to keep the flow moving quickly. Besides bagels, it has a full deli for sandwiches. I've never been disappointed with their bagels, cream cheeses, or Taylor Ham Egg & Cheese sandwiches. I've seen the negative reviews, and yes, the sales help my not be the friendliest or most helpful ( some are, most are not), but I attribute it to a small work area they are crammed into behind the counter and the fact most Millennials don't want to work ( or get up early). But I say, "Who cares at a bagel chop?" It's 5 minutes of your life, not a sit down restaurant, and the sandwich is worth the wait. TIP: this sandwich is usually \ universally served on a roll, but you need at least 2 eggs if you're using a mightier bagel, so order a double egg to match up with the piles of Taylor ham and melted cheese and you're set.

Everything bagel; toasted, turkey, fresh mozzarella, tomato, mayo, oil & vinegar.

AMAZING. Fresh, fresh turkey, fresh Mozzarella, tomato's, vinegar, mayo. Made with love, 5/5 would recommend, I would come here any day. Not a fan of bagels at all, they toasted me and it was truly amazing. This is the best turkey sandwich I have ever had. PERIOD.

There's no need to worry about street parking because they have a small parking lot up front. I stopped by on a late Sunday afternoon, craving a breakfast sandwich. Yes, I eat breakfast after 2pm... shoot me! The ambiance is a little more "elevated" than your usual deli. It's bright, clean, and modern with a good amount of seating. They also have wifi. I can see this also being a study/work spot during off-peak hours. They have a large variety of both breakfast and lunch options - bagels, pancakes, waffles, omelettes, burgers, salads, and savory sandwiches. Additionally, they also have tea, coffee, smoothies, and juices. What makes them stand out are their artisanal bagel flavors and gourmet cream cheese spreads. They have a lot of unique flavors, both sweet and savory. I ordered: *2 Eggs, Cheese and Meat Breakfast Sandwich ~$7 - I got mine with taylor ham and salt/pepper/ketchup on a toasted everything bagel. This was a satisfying and hearty meal! The bagel crust was crispy, while the interior was dense, fluffy, and chewy. The taylor ham was smoky and salty, which paired well with the creamy cheese and eggs. *Iced Coffee with milk & sugar ~$4 - The coffee was just okay. It was on the weaker side. A little too much milk. The service was friendly, welcoming, and quick. The employee let me sample a few of their cream cheeses. I also got to meet the chef, Miguel, who told me more about the business! I'll definitely be returning to try their artisanal bagels... I have my eyes on the french toast and parmesan ones!

We ordered a classic sausage, egg, and cheese on a roll and this time, I also wanted to investigate their bagel game. I ordered an everything bagel with veggie cream cheese and it took just a few bites to remind this newly transplanted Southerner that bagels in the Northeast are in a league of their own. Food comes out fast. We both watched admiringly from our tables as the short order cooks moved like tornados at the grill, furiously beating bowl after bowl of eggs to fulfill the counter endless string of orders. That's another thing. During the whole half hour we dined at a table, things never quieted. As soon as a table cleared, someone else would grab it right away. Over the years, I've found that when in doubt, it's best to follow the crowds. On most Saturday mornings, it seems this is the place where all the crowds in Ridgefield Park are congregating. This breakfast spot is as local as it gets. As a lover of small business, I can't tell you secretly happy I get to see lines at the door here while the Dunkin Donuts across the street languishes.

Java Day Cafe came up and it was really close to both of us so we decided to come here. The place is nestled in a small strip mall with other stablishments so luckily that means there's ample parking. There's also a fair amount of seating. You order at the counter and let them know if you want to take your food to go or if you'd like to dine-in. I was pretty hungry coming off a 12-hour shift so I got the Hungryman sandwich with a hash brown on the side. They have a few options as far as French toast goes and my girlfriend decided on Nutella stuffed. Our food came out rather quickly considering how busy they seemed to be. A few other parties were dining in and a good amount of people picked up takeout. My sandwich was much bigger than I anticipated but it was delicious. The various meats brought the saltiness and savory flavor I was looking for and it all paired well with the eggs and cheese. The bread it was served in had a nice crunch to it which is always appreciated. The sandwich was great but the next time I get it I have to add the SPK (salt, pepper, ketchup for you non-Jerseyans). I also tried some of my girlfriends French toast. It looked really good and I think I saw them take a picture before bringing it to our table. I'm not mad at that, as a Yelper I'm a firm follower of phone-eats-first! The French toast was delicious. It wasn't overly sweet and the bread had the all-important crunch. Walnuts also added good texture to everything. I think the only thing stopping me from rating this place 5-stars is the price. It's definitely on the pricier side. My girlfriend and I got coffees with our food and everything came out to a few bucks short of $50. Nevertheless, a very solid breakfast spot. I could see myself coming back. I found it weird that they have such nice plates but they only have plastic utensils. Not a knock on them, just a quirky thing I noticed.
