I grew up down the street from the Bagelry and frequented it my entire life. I recently came back to visit and it's truly amazing the way that NOTHING has changed. The bagelry is another place I always try to go to when I come home. They have my favorite bagels!! I either get the pesto or tomato basil bagel toasted. They have really great cream cheese options. I get the cheese louise and add green onions. They also have a bunch of bagel sandwiches. I would definitely recommended. They have a fridge with a bunch of drinks options including Diet Coke. I love a can of Diet Coke with my bagel. It was really busy when I went today, but the staff was still very nice and got things out to us quickly. The vibe is very local and fun. I really love all the cream cheese spread options I think this is what sets bagel place apart. Today I got berry, cheese Louise-herb and cheese, and a tomato herb. I have yet to try the berry and tomato and herb. My bagel was hot, egg was seasoned, my cream cheese (cheese Louise) was super flavorful and I love how smooth and whipped it was with pieces of herb in each bite. It was wrapped very well, the bagel was super soft and chewy, and my scrambagel was done perfectly. I got a jalepeno bagel with cheese Louise spread, toasted with scrambled eggs. This was also the first place I've seen that seasons their scrambled eggs in a bagel sandwich- I totally appreciate that! They have a pretty good menu and they give you the option to do your bagels open faced, you can get half a slice of a bagel or make it a bfst sandwich or regular sandwich as they have bacon, turkey, salmon lox, and tuna- which i thought was pretty cool as well. They have a lot of toppings available for your sandwiches and they even sell soup and have a plethora of drinks, sodas, and water in the fridge. I didn't have to wait long and my bfst sandwiches were piping hot! I will return. I can't wait to try my open faced blueberry bagel with berry smear and tomato herb smear. There's a little lot where you can park and they have inside and outside seating. They are tucked away facing the street in the left corner. We frequently ride our bikes here on a weekend morning. The wait is usually pretty long and even longer if you get there after 10 am. The bagels are worth it, though. The variety of bagels and cream cheese is great - different flavors, all of which are good. The staff is so incredibly rude. We ordered 4 bagels on a busy day and only got 3. They asked what we were missing and I started listing off the 4 bagels we ordered. We didn't get a tag so only they knew what was in the bag. I guess the guy just heard the first thing I said and started remaking something we already had. He then said something rude to his coworker about me being wrong and wasting a bagel. We were fine waiting and trying to resolve it but the staff's attitude genuinely made us so uncomfortable. I got the lox deluxe that has the sliced Norwegian lox, cream cheese, tomatoes, and capers. You can get them with red or green onions too. I didnt realize it was an open-face sandwich, which was surprising once I got it. It was worth the $12 because they add hella Lox on it. I came here for the first time 16 or 17 years ago with a friend, who told me I should try the pink flamingo with green onions and a chai. It was so good that I've never tried anything else. It's seriously delicious. I order it on an everything bagel and it's my absolute favorite. My husband lived in NYC for a bit, and he always talks about how good their bagels were. Pretty good bagel shop. Staff is nice and the bagels taste good too. My go to is a garlic bagel with cream cheese. They package it nicely too, so the cream cheese doesn't get mushed all over the place when eating to go. Extra cream cheese is very plentiful. The breakfast sandwiches I've had here are just okay. Sometimes things take time and that's understandable but we put a mobile order in this morning and our experience was absolutely terrible. It was a simple mobile order with just unsliced bagels and cream cheese no sandwiches or anything like that, when we went to pick it up when it was supposed to be ready they said they were working on it but they were not. Finally almost 30 minutes past the time, it was supposed to be ready our bagels were bagged and provided to us super disappointing that it takes this long to get un sliced bagels and cream cheese in a container. If you like dense and chewy bagels with unique spreads, you need to try the Bagelry. It's a Santa Cruz institution. We had the Moxie - any bagel (we prefer the sesame seed bagel) served with cream cheese, chopped black olives, and sliced green onions. Such a great flavor combination. There is plenty of parking i the plaza! After walking into the bagel shop I could immediately tell they had recently burned a bagel, I guess that is one of the downsides to a bagel shop. I seriously cannot ever come to the Santa Cruz region and NOT stop at The Bagelry, be it their original location or this one over in Soquel. They remain one of my absolute favorite breakfast spots, and a perfect choice for an easy grab-n-go meal on the run. As with the original location, you have what you would expect from a bagel café. A selection of flavors, large variety of toppings, and tons of combos for sandwiches and so forth. So many options, that one real fun thing to do is just mix and match, see what piques your flavor interests. My go-to favorite is the Bagel Melt, on either the Tomato-Basil or the Pesto bagel, along with a slice of tomato. Just the best thing to have in the morning! I can also highly recommend getting the combination of the Oatmeal-Date bagel with the Royal Palm spread. It is a sweet delicacy that really hits the spot. Bagels can be bought by the box and bundle, too, should you need a large order for a family breakfast or other event, along with cartons of schmear, toppings, and sides. The sides are fairly simple, chips, drinks, quite good dill pickles, really nice fresh cookies, and a fridge full of plenty of drink choices. Prices for the bagels are really good, with most bagels being a buck, a hefty bagel melt running you about $4-$5, and most sandwiches in the $5-$8 range, depending on other add-ons. This is very conveniently located right on the main drag in Soquel. This can make for an easy walk over, if you are in the neighborhood, but parking is fairly easy as well, though you may need to park across the street or around the corner, as their lot is on the small side. Service here has been quite friendly and prompt, too. Maybe the one downside I can find is that, unlike the original, there is no big garden patio to sit and enjoy your bagel, but there are still some benches out front, and no doubt the indoor dining space will reopen once COVID restrictions are lifted. All in all, the entire Bagelry franchise is one I always recommend to people visiting the area. I certainly will be back again whenever I pass through. Looking forward to the next round! read more

The girl with all piercings is very rude, I saw the front door open and it was 7:25, she was bringing out the outdoor chairs and just looked like she hated her job, when she saw me she immediately closed the door, they seemed to be in no hurry to open as myself and another gentleman stood out front at 7:30 and the doors still locked, the bagels are smaller then your average bagel, the cream cheese is nothing special, i definitely won't be returning. read more
