Tomato basil bagel with cheese Louise and green onions
    Hannah N.

The bagelry is another place I always try to go to when I come home. They have my favorite bagels!! I either get the pesto or tomato basil bagel toasted. They have really great cream cheese options. I get the cheese louise and add green onions. They also have a bunch of bagel sandwiches. I would definitely recommended. They have a fridge with a bunch of drinks options including Diet Coke. I love a can of Diet Coke with my bagel. It was really busy when I went today, but the staff was still very nice and got things out to us quickly. The vibe is very local and fun. They have local artists paintings up for sale which I love!

I really love all the cream cheese spread options I think this is what sets bagel place apart. Today I got berry, cheese Louise-herb and cheese, and a tomato herb. I have yet to try the berry and tomato and herb. My bagel was hot, egg was seasoned, my cream cheese (cheese Louise) was super flavorful and I love how smooth and whipped it was with pieces of herb in each bite. It was wrapped very well, the bagel was super soft and chewy, and my scrambagel was done perfectly. I got a jalepeno bagel with cheese Louise spread, toasted with scrambled eggs. This was also the first place I've seen that seasons their scrambled eggs in a bagel sandwich- I totally appreciate that! They have a pretty good menu and they give you the option to do your bagels open faced, you can get half a slice of a bagel or make it a bfst sandwich or regular sandwich as they have bacon, turkey, salmon lox, and tuna- which i thought was pretty cool as well. They have a lot of toppings available for your sandwiches and they even sell soup and have a plethora of drinks, sodas, and water in the fridge. I didn't have to wait long and my bfst sandwiches were piping hot! I will return. I can't wait to try my open faced blueberry bagel with berry smear and tomato herb smear. There's a little lot where you can park and they have inside and outside seating. They are tucked away facing the street in the left corner. They have a center stand with salt, pepper, tobasco, and tapatio for you along with napkins. Thank you for good service and delicious food.

One of my favorite fast breakfast spots. They have a great menu that always has some interesting to try if you want a change of pace.

It should not take 25 minutes to make a bagel with cream cheese. The service here was painfully slow and the staff seemed distracted and not focused on their work. They were often just standing around. When I finally got my order, the bagel was cold. How does a toasted bagel come out cold? I usually enjoy the downtown location but this one was a disappointment. Even the day old bagels were rock solid which was surprising for early morning. I will not be coming back to this location.

I got the lox deluxe that has the sliced Norwegian lox, cream cheese, tomatoes, and capers. You can get them with red or green onions too. I didnt realize it was an open-face sandwich, which was surprising once I got it. It was worth the $12 because they add hella Lox on it. It took a little while because we were there during the morning rush, but we were happy since we got coffee and the refill was free.

Excellent bagels, great customer service, one of our favorite places in Aptos to stop and grab a quick bite to eat, location is clean and sometimes you may have to wait in a line out the door but that goes to show how good the customer service and bagels are

Bagels were great! I was just sad, though, that they don't have Craisin (cranberry) bagels.

I've loved their egg/bagel sandwiches for a long time. But I was disappointed recently that decaf coffee wasn't available.

Sandwiches are made in a timely manner. And everything is good! This time I tried the Big Dipper and loved it. I probably could've split it with someone if I got a side, it had some size to it and was well portioned with meat, cheese and fresh veggies. You can eat inside or outside OR you can take it back to the beach and have the best setting possible. I will be back again and again- love this place.

I get that it's beach time and things move at a different pace, but being a little nicer to customers and visitors would make a big difference. Hopefully next time the service will be as good as the food. EDITED - Saturday, June 20, 2026 I'm updating my review after reading the owner's response. First, I want to clarify that the response appears to be a copy-and-paste message aimed at people leaving negative reviews. If you had actually read my original review, you would have noticed that I never complained about the food, the wait time, prices, staffing, or anything related to the quality of the business itself. In fact, I enjoyed the food and had no issue waiting. I visited on a Thursday, and the café wasn't packed. The owner was clearly working hard, and I respect that. However, when I walked in and said hello, I was completely ignored. There was no greeting, no acknowledgment, and no sense that my business was appreciated. That was the only reason I left a 3-star review in the first place. The response talks about staffing shortages, minimum wage, food costs, and the challenges of running a small business. I understand all of that. Running a business is difficult. But those challenges don't really address the point I was making. A simple "Hi," "Welcome," or even a quick smile costs nothing and goes a long way. I also don't think customers should be made to feel responsible for business challenges such as labor costs or rent. Those are realities of ownership that every business owner has to navigate. That said, after thinking about it, I'm changing my review from 3 stars to 5 stars because the food was genuinely good, and I do support small businesses. My hope is simply that future customers are greeted with a little more warmth and appreciation when they walk through the door. One final thought: when someone leaves a critical review, it may be worth responding directly to their experience rather than posting a generic response. Sometimes there's valuable feedback hidden inside reviews that aren't really about the food at all. I wish you and your business success, and I genuinely hope you continue serving great food for years to come.

I wanted to check out the other stores since they had a little market outside. They also had deli meat you could buy and stuff you could take home with you. The lady that helped me was incredibly friendly impatient since I had no idea what I wanted to eat. She gave some options since I wanted a hot sandwich and I liked cheese that melts. Lol when I got my fire sandwich, I neglected to ask if there was any condiments or vegetables inside besides the bell peppers. I always like lettuce or something with a crunch. Sandwich was pretty basic, but I think it needed something extra like a spicy aïoli sauce or something added to take it up to a different level of flavor. I usually like different flavors within sandwiches so perhaps I'm just picky. Overall, I thought the sandwich shop itself was incredibly cute and I liked all the drink drinks and glasses or even bottle of wine you could purchase and then walk down the way to the beach! That's exactly what I did after I ate my sandwich.

The arugula and chimichurri packed an exquisite punch, and the meat was thinly cut (but thickly piled on) and soft. The flavor combo of rich steak and intense herbs on top of fresh ciabatta with some sort of subtle creamy garlic sauce? Perfection. The Hot Bird is thermally hot, not spicy, and very rich and creamy. The meat had a subtle smokey flavor and the roasted peppers were almost tangy, but it sort of melted away into the richness of the mayo and turkey. It was tasty, but the chimichurri really "wowed" me. I don't think I'd order the Hot Bird next time, but I'd drop the $14+tip on the chimichurri again in a heartbeat.

The counter service female was very nice and helpful. The sandwich was very good and we've eaten there many times in the past. When we both sat down to eat we noticed that our sandwich hadn't been cut in half. My girlfriend went back to the counter and asked a male kitchen employee behind the counter if he could cut our sandwich in half. The sandwich was completely wrapped in paper and we did not unwrap it at all prior to asking for it to be cut. His response was extremely rude and nasty. He claimed that it was already contaminated despite the fact that it was still completely wrapped in paper. He acted like we were putting him out by us asking him to simply cut the sandwich in half. He accused my girlfriend of "contaminating" the sandwich (in his words) just by touching it despite the fact that it was handled by 2 people before we even touched it. Basically, it was his scolding condescending tone that totally turned us off to ever visiting this place again. It only takes one lazy a--hole employee to ruin a great dining experience.
