The Bloody Mary, sans a decent pour of vodka.
    Jim A.

Came to this restaurant with friends to have some drinks and appetizers on a Labor Day afternoon. We arrived at the restaurant and were greeted by the hostess who was less than friendly (meaning that it appeared she would rather be somewhere else than here). however, we were seated shortly after. After a short time, the server came to out table and took out drink orders. I chose the Bloody Mary first and then the Margarita after. The bloody Mary had an awesome piece of bacon and two olives. The drink however was weak in the vodka department. I wasn't impressed with the drink at all. The margarita was actually better and was served in a clay glass. This was really nice because it kept the margarita cold and the ice did not melt fast like it does in a glass. I definitely have to get a set of the clay glasses for home. The appetizers we ordered were the flatbread, some calamari, fried pickle spears, and some peach and cold cut stuff on bread (I don't remember what it was called). The fried pickle spears were great! The other stuff were not impressive at all (for me). The only way I can explain my dissatisfaction is that they. Could be great appetizers, but in their attempt to be fancy, they added something that just ruined the flavor of the dish. I've been here before for lunch in the past and had the burger, and it was okay, but nothing to rave about. My second visit here was my attempt to give it a second chance. The view from the outdoor seating is spectacular. The Puget Sound and the treeless golf course makes it a great place to watch the boats and golfers. There is no shade, so wear a hat if visiting outside seating.. I can't say that everyone will have my experience here. Is this restaurant worth a try? Yes, it is worth a try if here playing golf or find yourself in the area. I just wouldn't go out of my way to dine or have drinks at this restaurant. The Tacoma and surrounding area have much better restaurants at more reasonable prices.

I really wanted to like this restaurant however the experience slightly fell short. I ordered the ahi nachos was surprised by the obscene amount of fried chips that came with the dish. I did like the large pieces of ahi, avocado, mango, and seaweed salad sprinkled on top of the nachos. The service was a slow and request for a water refills took a little longer. I was considering ordering a cocktail, however decided not to as it may increase the wait time. Despite the long wait, the servers were very nice, I would definitely come back and retry this restaurant and see if the experience is different and warrant

Soup and entree brought out within minutes. I had to enjoy my soup from my lap vs the table cause there was no room

Came here for Father's Day brunch with a reservation and were seated outside on a beautiful day. We were greeted and seated fairly quickly, and our server was initially attentive when taking our drink and food orders. However, the dining experience quickly went downhill. Although we specifically asked for our soups to come out first, they were brought to the table just minutes before our entrées, making it hard to enjoy either properly. What stood out even more was watching several tables, all seated after us, receive their food well before we did. It's hard to ignore the pattern, especially when none of those tables looked like ours. To make matters worse, I found a hair embedded in my burger patty. While the server was apologetic and took it back right away, it was understandably off-putting. The food had potential, but that, combined with the service dynamic, left a bad impression. It's disappointing, especially since this isn't the first time I've heard similar experiences from other friends who have dined here. It gives the unfortunate impression that not all guests are treated equally, and that's not something I can overlook. I won't be returning.

We got done after a 7 seas sponsored event and ordered food to go. It took them until 9:45pm; exactly 48 minutes after we ordered, to tell us that the kitchen/cooks didn't get our order we placed at 8:56pm and it would be another 20 minutes for our food; the food we ordered, to go... (tee time at 6:10pm, ended at 8:45pm). We made it clear that we wanted our food to go as we weren't looking to stay. and I honestly think they just didn't want to give us the 15% discount that came w/ the event. So I would rate this place a zero out of ten. The bartender was a little too friendly, and the hostess wasn't friendly enough. All in all I'd call it a professional course w/ amateur employees, as even the shuttle bus was not "to par". Even the guy who was supposed to give us swing tips (included w/ event) fell short of our expectation. I honestly get better service from metro park golf course down the road; then these shmucks at this "establishment" Yikes! I'm sure people who "look like" golfers have a great time...........

Bay Burger was dry. Sweet potato fries were good though.

The food was meh, but the view almost makes up for it. Food was not made with love, but again the view was breathtaking

    Avocado Toast.

I had Chambers Bay Grill on my bookmarks and it wasn't really because I heard good things about it but it was more of a draw and an excuse (not that one was needed) to go to Chambers Bay itself which is just so very beautiful so that association alone is what prompted me to add this place. And the hope that a lot of gophers that go here the restaurant just may be getting a bad rap for no reason. But alas the reviews and overall average didn't exactly lead me wrong at all. Some of the complaints that people indicated in their reviews I didn't detect but my own disappointment was with the food. I am not a huge breakfast eater anyway but I do like Avocado Toast around the morning hours and that is what I got. The avocado itself was made into a spread on my toast which is normal for this dish but unfortunately avocado and how it tastes can be a tricky one. The avocado on my toast didn't taste fresh at all but more something that was less on the natural side and loaded with preservatives. There was also an odd olive or oily flavor to the avocado which was totally out of place for this dish. I ate it all but it was not all that impressive. Steve got a breakfast burrito and we both decided we liked that dish was one we liked better over mine. But rather than having salsa to go with the burrito it was accompanied by ketchup? Another head scratching moment. Despite the placement of the restaurant you don't get much view of Chambers Bay at all if you sit inside but it looks like in the summer you can sit outside and get the view in then. But perhaps just get drinks... there are better restaurant options not far away from the park.

We went for my Human's birthday weekend! It was gorgeous despite having to sit inside. The service was quick, the Bloody Mary was really yummy. We order 2 entrees, Bloody Mary, and a cider. I think our favorite part was the service as well as the PoTaToeS!!! It was a tri-mix of purple, regular, and yams! They were roasted to perfection with the perfect amount of salt and seasoning! We enjoyed it thoroughly! Definitely will be back when outdoor seating is open!

Underwhelming in every way. Small square room with regular sized windows- shame because it's such a beautiful spot. Food was mediocre at best. Bartender was very nice and was the best part of the visit. Too bad.

    Should say closes at 4:30pm

Came around 4:45pm, sun was not set yet, and just wanted a quick appetizer & drink and they didn't seat us. Leaves a bad taste in my mouth when a restaurant does that to me and will not be coming back. They need to change their times to "closes at 4:30pm".

Nice crust, juicy patty, and consistently done right. And the French onion dip... I'd drink it if I could. No shame. The server, he was one of the reasons I was actually excited to come back. Unfortunately, my second visit was memorable for all the wrong reasons. Before we even sat down, we were greeted by the owner--or, more accurately, acknowledged as an inconvenience. The pub was nearly empty except for one gentleman at the bar, and she seemed far more interested in continuing that conversation than welcoming what appeared to be paying customers. It genuinely felt like interrupting someone's first date. When she finally came over, she somehow managed to be both smiling and incredibly hostile at the same time. It takes a special talent to make an entire group feel uncomfortable while wearing a grin, but she pulled it off flawlessly. The passive-aggressive Olympics would have awarded gold. I have no problem with owners having personality, but treating customers like they're a burden isn't a business model--it's a fast track to empty tables. Add in parking her Jeep in the closest customer spot right in front of the entrance, and it gave off the impression that customer convenience wasn't exactly high on the priority list. If the goal is to use the bar as a personal dating lounge, that's completely fine--but maybe rename it something like F-boy Island, Love Is Blind: Happy Hour Edition, or The Bachelorette Tavern. At least then customers would know what experience they're signing up for. To be fair, the place itself is adorable. It's cozy, unique, and obviously decorated with a lot of love. Between the Christmas lights, faux clouds, flowers, and whimsical touches, it feels less like an Irish pub and more like someone combined Pinterest with a Hallmark movie. Honestly, I'd hire her to decorate a little girl's bedroom in a heartbeat. After reading other reviews, I was disappointed--but not surprised--to see that this doesn't appear to be an isolated experience. It's unfortunate because the food, drinks, and atmosphere have so much potential. A welcoming attitude from the owner would had made all the difference. I'd happily return for the food and the server from my first visit. Returning for the hospitality? That's a much harder sell.

Such a cool 70s vibe! I loved all the decor and the ambience! My large group took a seat in the back near the swordfish and fireplace, which I loved!! I had a lemon drop, which was absolutely perfect. My only complaint came by the request of my two friends who are steadfast, "old-fashioned" drinkers. Their old fashions had some type of red flowers sprinkled in the drink. Every time they took a sip, they complained! I eventually went up to the bar at the end and they told us it was Bergamont! So perhaps if you'd like to stick to the classic, ask to skip the Bergamont- as it has a very strange texture when you're drinking the drink. Overall, really, really cool place!

At first glance it appears super tiny, but the bar goes back pretty far and is a good size. We got there before the nighttime crowds and managed to score the cozy couch in front of the fireplace in the back. It filled up quickly after that, though! The mood is moody and cozy, the perfect spot for making this apart of date night. I can't speak much to the food as we did not order any, but the menu is pretty elevated for a bar. I wouldn't say this place is divey at all, but the menu was still surprising. Service was good and they had a great selection of drinks. I got a hazy IPA (as per usual) and it was delicious! We also got a couple of shots here and absolutely adored the shot glasses they use. They look like tiny cocktail glasses! Overall we thought Holy Moly was a vibe and we will definitely include this in our 6th Ave rotation.
