Edit: I totally realized this is the wrong location. My review was for the downtown location. My bad! I love their draft iced coffee (cold brew, oatmilk and agave) and their brunch is out of this world (only available on the weekends). It's high quality dishes and you can tell lots of love is put into every dish. The presentation is always immaculate. I love their steak and eggs and my husband gets their crab cake Benedict. The yogurt parfait is nothing like you'd imagine. It's divine with this pistachio purée on it. Only negative, which isn't a big deal, is you have to wait in line to order and be seated-so sometimes you can wait a bit while a whole party orders in front of you. Took a bit to get my food but it was worth the wait. the veggie sandwich was delicious. full of flavor and so filling. (and i shared it) Also because it's the holiday season they had seasonal syrups I got a Gingerbread Caramel Latte with Almondmilk and it was really good. I loveeee arcade and the Bakehouse became my new favorite spot. The staff was so kind and helpful with recommendations because it was our first time there. Food was good and came out quick. I loved the strawberry chocolate house made scone! Warmed up it was soft and flakey and it had pockets of strawberry jam and chocolate chips inside. My friend and I often visited this place after class when I was attending UCR. The food is good but can be a hit or miss. The first time I came here I got avocado toast and the bread was as hard as a rock. However, I recommend getting the tri tip sandiwch; it's so good! The bread for this sandwich is soft and the tri tip is well seasoned. The drinks here are below average in my opinion and the only drink I like here is the kombucha. The coffee is amazing here. You can taste the freshness in their coffee that's roasted weekly! Then on top of that they have all HOMEMADE syrups! They just upgraded to a "Matcha machine" praying they go back to hand whisked matcha. I've visited this cafe shop 5-10 times while living in Riverside. PROS: - The coffee is very good and their matcha drinks is also very good. - The atmosphere is good for studying and there are plenty of tables and outlets if you plan to do work. CONS: - I ordered a hot drink and the lid adid not create a proper seal with the cup, so my drink spilled on my shirt numerous times. This has happened to me 2-3 times. - Their food menu was also very top tier before, however, recently they demoted to a "to-go" menu with subpar food and it is disappointing because I really favored and went out of my way to get food from their previous menu. - Other customers and patrons adhere to cafe ettiquete of speaking softly while on the phone and or talking to others, but workers do not. It is disruptive to loudly discuss work situations and dilemmas in the seating area. I hope the place can invest in an employee lounge so that these disruptive and loud conversations do not occur on the floor in front of other customers. read more

I came here on a Sunday morning around noon and the wait time for food was god-awful! I ordered around 12:00 and I didn't get my food for at least 40-50 minutes. Everyone else at my table got their food at least 20 minutes before I did, so they may have just forgotten to make mine but didn't acknowledge it at all. The outdoor/ indoor ambiance is pretty nice but I wouldn't come here to study because of how loud it gets unless you bring headphones. I split an omelet and a salmon benedict with my friend and despite the insanely long wait time, the food was pretty good. Mine was without any flavoring or syrup and I absolutely loved the quality of the coffee.. Not saying "simple" in a negative way but very enjoyable. Nice acidity and balanced throughout the mid while leaving slight sweetness at the end. The tri tip sando was great too. Since it is a bakeshop it looks like they bake their own biscuits for the sando. I would say the biscuit is what makes the sando stand out. We came here for breakfast and coffee one morning and it did not disappoint. I've been to their other location many times so coming here to try out the baked goodies was not a difficult choice. Their baked goods are on another level. Their pastry chef must have aced their culinary school because it's rare to find light, crispy, buttery croissants like those served. We ordered the breakfast sandwich as well and that was decadent with its fresh egg waiting for you to crack it before eating. The interior is clean practical and inviting. But I am leaving my review for The Bakehouse since we would visit this location most often. To set the scene: We would often arrive, order a coffee and pastry, find a seat and proceed to do homework together. Staff was rarely friendly or welcoming, if at all. And we continued to drop by, thinking maybe we caught staff on a bad day. Nope, they're consistently rude. Our motive for going to The Bakehouse was to support/shop local, but now we'd much rather go to Starbucks in the same parking lot. At least there, they're not rude. read more

Best staff. This place feels like family. I Love the coffee here... its so good I drive here multiple times a week.... even with a small 10 Oz latte costing about $8 + with tax and tip... It's worth it. Promise. All the syrups are homemade. Riverside doesn't have many quality coffee shops so this place takes the gold medal. When they first opened the avocado toast was really good and worth $12 but they changed it and now it's okay. I like to get the side of scrambled eggs and toast with butter. Sticking to the bakery... scones are delicious and the chocolate chip cookies are seriously ridiculously divine .
